Poland`s aid to Ukraine if Russia invades

Paulina

According to Ukrainian intelligence only Putin and Sergei Shoigu, the Minister of Defence, support the invasion - majority of Russian generals are against it:

An air strike has been launched on a Ukrainian military base Yavoriv in the west of the country near the Polish border, according to the Lviv regional military administration.

Don't know if it's been mentioned already in this thread but I saw this news this morning on Al Jazeera and Irish news.

"The occupiers (Russians) launched an air strike on the International Center for Peacekeeping and Security. According to preliminary data, they fired eight missiles," the administration said in a statement.

The centre, less than 25km (15 miles) from the Polish border, did not say whether it had been hit. It said it would release details later.

Donetsk and Luhansk are gone. Russia wont be giving them up. Crimea is gone as well.

If you mean the territory seized by RuSSia before the invasion, yes.
However, any new annexations won`t be recognised either by Ukraine or the West. And the war will go on. And the sanctions will do their job. RuSS-Asian savages aren`t able to keep their new gains coz their economy is going to crush. Simple

Kherson is now slated to have a referendum on independence.

Any rigged referenda organised under RuSS-Asian occupation are invalid. It is as clear as the daylight.

Russia now targeting the weapons everyone is shipping to Ukraine

No, not yet. They are only warning they will do it. Let`s wait and see it actually happen.

majority of Russian generals are against it:

Exactly but are still too scared to act against the Kremlin. They perfectly realise all these losses in equipment and casualties that RuSSia is sustaining right now are useless coz there won`t be peace until RuSS-Asian savages return to status quo which had been before the invasion. And they need peace to have the sanctions lifted coz if they aren`t , RuSSia is finished economically within 6 months and within a year they can expect serious internal disturbances.

A bit more information on the Russian attack near the Polish border. According to the Ukrainian government, foreign military instructors have been working there. Obviously Russia is trying to take out some of the professional veterans from other countries who have come to Ukraine to train and command inexperienced/newly formed Ukrainian troops.

@pawian
They are targeting. The base outside of Lviv is a transfer point for all of the equipment coming out of Poland, or I should say was a transfer point. I was 15 minutes from this location not long ago, and it is highly concentrated with Ukraine military. The small city I was in is full of military veterans.

As for being recognized by Ukraine or not, I am not saying. I am saying it is happening, and it is happening to create more bargaining power when both sides do actually sit down to talk.

The sanctions are working. Spoke to a friend in NYC who is American citizen, but mom is in Moscow and store shelves are being emptied. People are starting to horde. He also said, most Russians are brain washed and believe Putins claims.

the sanctions lifted coz if they aren`t , RuSSia is finished economically within 6 months and within a year they can expect serious internal disturbances.

I wonder if anyone over there will have the balls to make Putin realise this, because it looks like he's still detached from reality... Or does he want to turn Russia into another North Korea?

According to the Ukrainian government, foreign military instructors have been working there.

Are they sent by foreign governments or are they those volunteers?

At this stage Paulina, it's probably a mixture of both. In the normal course of events it's US, Canadian, British, Polish and Lithuanian service members who help to train the Ukrainian military.

Why are you wasting time with mainstream news that's not from the region in question?

mainstream news?

Thanks for the link Maf though the quality of Irish news is high. Al Jazeera is pretty good too. It's all verified stuff and quite a few eyewitness accounts etc. I've read about the kidnapping of the mayors etc and a new mayor has been installed by the Russians in the place of one of them. She's a former member of the town council ...... traitor or just terrified and trying to save her own life? Who can say .....

I've asked about this because in the past Russia warned the US that Russia would retaliate if their military personnel got hurt or killed during US missile attacks in Syria. But Russia can attack NATO personnel in Ukraine at will? Why is that?

Russia is treating their wounded and burying their dead soldiers in Belarus:

wiadomosci.wp.pl/ranni-w-busach-zabici-w-ciezarowkach-wstrzasajace-doniesienia-z-bialorusi-6746694889245248a

Hospital personnel and shocked locals are told to keep quiet and not to record the dead bodies being put into trains.

I wonder if the families will ever be informed where their sons, husbands and fathers are burried? It's inhuman... :(

Here's a link about this in English:

Right next to Lviv and the Polish border. Plenty of NATO special forces there, and looks like plenty of dead. (unconfirmed)

apologies just realised this was already posted. long range cruise missiles. how long do we let this Putin *unt escalate and aggress us until we realise that it's us , NATO/EU/USA and Poland that are the pussies?

Plenty of NATO special forces there, and looks like plenty of dead.

And guess what NATO will do. I'll give you a hint - it starts with "N" and ends with "OTHING".

Poor Ukrainians. They fight so valiantly, but all to no avail I'm afraid. Russian gas and oil is still imported to the EU, we are still paying for the bombs that fall on Ukrainian children at night. Russian diplomats are still warm and safe in their cosy embassies in the West (why haven't they all been kicked out already?), NATO is not closing air space over Ukraine to prevent bombing schools and hospitals which makes Putin act with even more impunity.

The West was apparently counting on Ukraine's quick fall and a quick deal with Russia - similar to the one after the annexation of Crimea with some plastic sanctions (why isn't Russia cut off from SWIFT completely already? why are we still buying anything from the murderers? why is the devil's spawn of putinist politicians and oligarchs still allowed to study and live in the West that they hate so much?) imposed just to keep up appearances.

We are in the 3rd week of war and the West is getting more and more annoyed with Ukraine. Why are they still fighting? Why are they still defending their country? Why don't they finally surrender and let us make a deal with RuSSia again? That's exaclty what is happening in the heads of most western politicians at the moment.

Poor, poor Ukrainians... little did they realise that western politicians are not much different from putinist murderers. :-/ Plastic indignation, plastic sanctions and plastic tears... the whole f*cking West is plastic. It's going to be September 1939 all over again for Ukraine - they only advantage is that they are attacked only by Russians not by Russians and Germans (Germans are still paying hefty sums to finance to the attack though - the lovely Russian gas and oil money are still flowing beautifully into Putin's pocket).

I think its about to get real serious over the next few days. I believe there are more NATO forces in Poland now than has been announced publicly. Soldiers are everywhere in Krakow and spoke to a friend in Sanok this morning, he said the city is full of Americans every day. Sanok very small town not far from the border.

Want to make a bet? See my post above. Biden has already stated directly that NATO will not fight in Ukraine and neither will they close air space over any part of Ukraine.

I agree. I think there are quite a few dead americans at this Yavoriv training field, unless somehow putins generals got smart and it's only the polish and czechs and slovaks etc. then it's a different story.

Biden has already stated directly that NATO will not fight in Ukraine and neither will they close air space over any part of Ukraine.

That's probably why Putin thought he can attack that International Centre for Peacekeeping and Security in Yavoriv. I think attacking NATO personnel should be a red line that Russians shouldn't be crossing.

news.sky.com/story/ukraine-war-military-base-used-for-nato-drills-near-poland-targeted-by-russian-airstrikes-12564880

"57 people were wounded after 30 cruise missiles were fired at the International Centre for Peacekeeping and Security in Yavoriv, in what appears to be the westernmost attack of the war so far."

how long do we let this Putin *unt escalate and aggress us until we realise that it's us ,NATO/EU/USA and Poland that are the pussies?

Maybe it's time NATO started to warn Russia? Because it looks like it's the other way around all the time... If Russians couldn't be touched in Syria, then NATO personnel shouldn't be attacked in Ukraine by Russians either. Makes sense?

After all, NATO personnel was invited by the Ukrainian government, just like Russians were invited by the Syrian government.

Repercussions are coming to P.oo Teen, soon enough

Bollocks.

Where are the real sanctions? Why hasn't Russia been cut off from SWIFT completely already? Why is the EU still paying for Russian gas and oil - hence paying for the bombardments of schools and hospitals? Why are Russia's lying "diplomats" still in their warm and cosy embassies in the West? Why is Russia still a UN member?

Oh, sorry... I forgot IKEA shops were closed and McDonalds temporarily suspended business operations there.

I had hope in the first week of the war. In the second week the hopes faded a bit, and right now I can see exactly what is going to happen. Putin is going to win it. He is a criminal, a cold blooded murderer who will destroy everything that stands in the way of his imperial vision. He is going to win it, because he is willing to take a risk that the West apparently is NOT willing to take. He is going to win it because he is real and the leaders of the West are plastic.

... he made a huge gamble on the West being too cowardly and rotten and - to the surprise of many - he is winning the bet. The only factor that wasn't predicted is the valiant defiance of Ukrainians. They should have surrendered already and save the West the embarassment.

I think attacking NATO personnel should be a red line that Russians shouldn't be crossing.

Hey, Paulina - I know what NATO will do now: N _ THING. Do you want to buy a vowel?

F*ck it, at this point I think Nato should just advance to the west side of the Dnieper River. It's a perfect defensive geographical area. And let's see what Putin does next. Launch nukes? Don't think so.

I think Nato should just advance to the west side of the Dnieper River.

In a piece he wrote ten days ago Dr Tom Clonan, a former Captain in the Irish armed forces predicted what's now started to happen. He said:

"It would appear at this point that the Russians are seeking to cut Ukraine in two - north to south, along the Dnieper River. This would be an echo of the Battle of the Dnieper in World War Two, 80 years ago.

The Battle of the Dnieper has huge symbolic significance for the Russian military and for Putin. Along with approximately 4 million troops, iconic Soviet Generals, Zhukov, Vasilevskiy, Konev and Rokossovsky smashed the Nazi armies of Generals Von Manstein, Von Kluge and Von Kleist. Once the Soviets had driven the Germans west of the Dnieper, they then commenced the Battle of Kyiv."

Regarding military aid and weapons coming in from Poland he said:

"The area around Lviv will become the major reception and distribution centre for weapons and other war materials to what will become a Ukrainian resistance movement west of the Dnieper River. This would draw Russian forces into a war of attrition in Ukraine - not unlike the experience of the Soviets in Afghanistan.

As these weapons enter Ukraine, the Kremlin may well begin to target Lviv and border crossings along the Polish, Slovakian and Baltic frontiers. Such actions might well inflict casualties on NATO troops or EU border forces. This would lead to a de-facto escalation of the war in Ukraine to a wider European war with Russia."

I think its about to get real serious over the next few days.

Who knows? It is quite probable Putin is aiming at escalation with NATO to be able to declare national mobilisation and crush Ukrainian resistance with more troops. Belarus denied sending their troops to help RuSS-Asians. NATO mustn`t relinquish.

Paulina
13 Mar 2022  #5009

I mentioned that invitation because that's the Russian logic, based on my discussions with pro-Putin Russians. According to "Russian logic" Russians were invited by Syria, so they had the right to be there. So, according to that "Russian logic", if NATO personnel was invited to Ukraine, they have the right to be there too. So why don't NATO acts like it and at least talk tough? They're walking on eggshells around Putin and he takes advantage of that.

he is willing to take a risk that the West apparently is NOT willing to take.

Yes. He's making a step forward and the West is taking a step back. It's like with an aggressive dog - if you start walking back the dog views it as a sign of weakeness and fear. When you move calmly forward with the right attitude and posture it's the dog that withdraws. Unless, of course, the dog has rabies. It seems that the West is convinced that Putin has rabies lol Does he though? Or maybe he wants to appear as it is the case, so the West would allow him to do whatever he wants in fear that he might start WWIII or even make a nuclear attack?

ruskis just cruised missiled the International Peacekeeping and Security Centre AKA Yavoriv training ground, a joint Ukranian NATO training centre.

This coincides with yesterday's announcement that Russia will target arms deliveries. Because there was also that tweet confirming military deliveries to Rzeszow which lies in southeastern Poland near Lviv.

A small addition, it seems that there were volunteers from the West in that base. The Russian side organized for them a fireworks welcome and a "baptism of fire".

;)
