The plan of taking over Ukrainie in few days if sucesfful would mean that the USA would be out of Europe.
That wasn't in the interest of the USA. So they helped Ukrainian Army reforms, give them intel and some weapons.
Nobody asked them to do it, the USA is doing it in their own interest.

You keep pointing the finger at the US. Hasn't the US done enough for Poland and Europe since 1991? You act as though this is a one sided relationship and it clearly is not. You act as though the US owes Europe or Poland something and it does not. The US is in Poland now. Delivering men and weapons every day. Yet, you want more. When is it enough?

People complain about US influence, and the Americanization of Europe and Poland, yet you want more US military intervention and aid. It is either both or nothing, you can not take something without giving something. Want McDonalds? Deal with more English speakers. Want Amazon? Deal with more US products and all the other things that come with it. Want the Us to fight the war? Then what ever the cost is, you have to accept it.

NATO is not an excuse. I bet if the US wanted to go in, that others in NATO would veto the action. I would bet Germany, and France both veto for sure. So once the rest of NATO has some balls, why talk about the US doing more? How many Poles have gone and purchased a weapon for self defense? How many are prepared if the Russians come in? Don't talk the talk if you are not prepared to walk the walk.

And as for Cuban Missile Crisis - there were no missiles being installed in Ukraine. There are no missiles even in Poland even though we've been in NATO for 23 years already. There was not even any serious presence of NATO troops. Why? In order not to "upset" Russia. So NATO would be even more careful about not "upsetting" Russia in case of Ukraine. That is, if Ukraine would ever qualify for NATO membership. And do I have to keep reminding you that Russia has missiles right at the NATO's doorstep? How do you explain the fact that NATO isn't invading Russia because of that?


NATO and the EU is sending a message to Russia too - that it's not OK to invade your neighbour just because you suffer from paranoia. Hopefully the message will sink in, even if takes some time and ass-whooping from the Ukrainians :)
