Russia will feel that sooner or later! I doubt there will be a way back to how things were before the invasion ever again...
Time will tell if the outrage today translates into something effective, but the outrage is a point of optimism...although I'm extremely cautious to accept such changes as an already inevitable forgone conclusion. At least we're acknowledging the problem.
not all of them are Putin-loving hopeless leftist radicals
They can be Putin-hating, and they still should not be trusted to what needs to be done. Hopeless leftist radicals just don't have it in their DNA to deal with these types of issues correctly.
It is going to be of keen interest to see what develops in German politics over the next few years.
Last night on Deutsche Welle during a panel discussion the discussion turned to the state of the German military. They talked about the woeful state of the German military and all that, then one of the guests brought up what I thought was a very interesting and equally important point: he mentioned that contemporary social German culture is also a hurdle due to how WWII shaped today's German attitudes toward the military. He brought up the problem of very little interest in Germans wanting to join the military, and that many of those who do join are more in line with a radical nationalism--types you don't necessarily want to join the military.
She was for the CDU the same like Trump was for the Republicans
I thought you said Merkel destroyed the CDU, not strengthened it. :)
