I just heard Russias economy is stronger than ever and its selling all its oil to China, India and Turkey. In fact India is buying 25% more since the war started.

Bidens sanctions are a joke and now hes going to Saudi Arabia to beg for oil whilst we have vast reserves in the USA

Considering that Poland would not even allow a female checkers player to have her Russian flag on the table during a game - I somehow doubt that the situation with Russian flags in Poland is much better.

Thankfully the lady went on to beat her Polish counterpart, despite the best Polish efforts to discombobulate her with their retarded efforts.

Mind you - this was before the war even started.

I'm just miffed....Germany pays since decades regularly BILLIONS in helpmonies to the world.....money we could very well use here at home....and when there nothing comes back but attacks and accusations then we just should let them being depend on such "Menschenfreunde" like China....sooner or later they will see what it got them.

Germany, with 1/4 the population, is almost equal to the United States. Bravo! Ok, Germany is unjustly included in this list - I will admit.

Small gripe, however. In the second chart you can see that Germany is still 0.09% short of 0.7% and is instead around 0.61%. This year, however, it's probably much higher than the ODA target of 0.7%.

Obviously not. The intent is to use that "ridiculous" discrepancy in the weight between events, to show that Poland has a much more "holistic" approach of a total ban on all Russian symbols. In Russia, it would simply be unthinkable to disrespect Polish symbols in a trivial context like that - while the flag in Katyn is a message intended only for the PiS government. I didn't use destroyed Soviet War Memorials, doused ambassadors, and people knocking over headstones at cemeteries - because I didn't want the Paulina-crew to revv up the machine again.

Actually yes. We all know Russia has the Black Sea ports blocked, not Ukraine. So take the propaganda and keep it to yourself. No one cares about your opinion or theirs. How many times does this have to be said to you?

Sanctions do not create wheat problems. Blocked ports, and theft of wheat by Russians create wheat shortages. War creates wheat shortages when farmers can not plant. Russia is responsible for all of it. Period.

Indeed. There is currently a party conference of the German Left party (successor to the GDR-party SED) and there has been an increasing number of speakers openly denouncing Russia's "imperialistic war" against Ukraine. It remains to be seen if they get a majority, but it is nevertheless a sign of change. This is after all the party who regulary villainized NATO and the USA and talked of Russia as a victim.

I said some time ago, on this very board, that I think soldiers' graves should be left in peace, but there is also no direct analogy here (occupying forces on the one hand and victims of murder on the other).

Again, please don't think I'm comparing checkers to Katyn. As mentioned, point was to use asymmetry of events to show that level of antipathy towards symbols is probably more weighted to Polish side.

Left outside the discussion is how the evil twin in Warsaw has been telling every single European leader that will listen that Putin killed his brother. So... yes - the PiS government! They have wholesale appropriated the tragedy of Katyn and made it into a blunt political weapon to beat the Russians with. Kaczynski has more or less distilled it into a personal problem.

That's a great way to sh!t on the confidence building of Tusk and Putin that installed those flags in the first place.

Ok, now that I had a minute to recover from this attack from a party colleague - I am beginning to question your sincerity. What exactly happened here - let's take a look.

1) Memorial was not demolished.

2) Memorial was not closed.

3) It was not renamed to "A Place Where a Bunch of Assh0les Lie".

All that happened was one of two flags was taken down from the flagpole. Also, the Russian politician responsible said "this is Russian history now". I'm not sure what he means by that, but oh well.

The reason this poor place is in the news, is precisely because it is a place symbolizing Polish-Russian reconciliation. Since Poland is leading the pack of countries trying to kill as many Russians as possible, some busybodies decided this would be the appropriate message to send. No reconciliation, no friendship. It's not what I would want, as a message, but also don't make it out to be something that it is not and get all outraged.

The nonsense ("it's Russian memorial, it's Russian history - there can't be Polish flags here") written on FB by this Borisov muppet is only some extra "spice" added but not the most important thing - we have our own muppets in Poland too, I know the species. They will do everything to please their masters and sometimes they go too far. My guess is that Putin will order the flag to be put back, and Mr Borisov will become a collective farm manager somewhere in Siberia. There can be even an open war between Poland and Russia but some things are just outside the area of fair play.


Outraged? No. More like disgusted and disappointed. If Mr Borisov remains in his office and the flag doesn't return, then I seriously think Poland should bring our boys home. In return we can give Russia all the Russian soldiers' remains together with those huge monuments; all the steel and concrete - must be worth something. If that's the message then it was redundant. Poles do not want friendship with Russia, I dont know that they ever really have. The USSR used Poland for decades and kept it down like the rest of the USSR. Again, Russia has nothing that the world can not live without. Of course there are inconveniences with gas and oil, but nothing that cant be dealt with or over come. The only thing Russia has "right" is that the west wants to see their style of government and imperialism gone.

Once Putin is dead though, and a new leadership established, then maybe the west will talk. But until there is proof of change, Russia can wither away. China cant buy oil forever, and when demand is gone, prices will drop. Simple economics.

Which clashes with their conviction that they're superior... it rankles them no end that all these 'inferior' countries have higher standards of living and less crime and less corruption.... collective narcissistic wound that makes them violently lash out.

Anyone who can runs away from Russian 'culture'.... which drives them to homocidal rage....
