Poland`s aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 2

Bobko
5 May 2022  #1021

@Velund

Good to see you back, colleague ;)

They don't ask me any more about the ruble exchange rate, or when the stock market will open. Project "Russian Collapse" has failed, it seems - despite all the positive vibes being sent out into the universe by well wishers from the West.

Now it is raped babies and stolen toilets.

@Bobko
We dont ask, because trading is not open to regular trading. We dont ask because in a closed market, there is artificial stabilization. In other words, we dont ask because we are not stupid Russians.

If Putin attacks Poland (i.e. Jasionka airport, where the armament is being shipped to), it will signal the end for him. He knows this because he would have done it a lot sooner instead of using scare tactics which don't seem to be working anymore. The west is continually sending tanks and Javelins to Jasionka and Putin has done nothing about it.

The ruble, Russian bond market and moex are now all completely artificial and propped up by the Kremlin - they are about as much use as your rusty old tanks

Bobko
5 May 2022  #1025

@cms neuf

Wow. Change the world ruble for dollar or euro, "Russian" to American or European, and MOEX to NYSE or LSE and you'll get the same result.

Can you say: Quantitative Easing? How about: Zero Interest Rate Policy? Maybe: Troubled Asset Relief Program? I can go on.

Your bond markets and equity markets are just as "propped up" as ours are now, only the CBRF is a little late to the game.

If Putin attacks Poland (i.e. Jasionka airport,

Putler knows very well the inevitable outcome of attacking a country that is in NATO.

Russian bond market

Quite. Nobody is going anywhere near that nowadays. The rouble is artificially high too.

@Bobko
Only Russia has a very high interest rate, and the other exchanges are open to normal trading. You really are an idiot to even try to argue this.

Here in Poland I can buy stocks and sell them as I please, so can foreigners. I can change as much zloty as I like and I can buy and sell government bonds to foreigners.

None are possible in Russia. But yes you are good at stealing toilets

Meanwhile, no one seems curious about the Ukrainian Hrivnya or the Ukrainian stock market. Maybe this is because one of them doesn't actually exist. Somehow, in thirty years of independence, Ukraine managed only to create a stock market with a total capitalization of $700M.

One Russian company, Yandex, is worth 10x of the entire Ukrainian stock market. This is despite Yandex being down 70% since the war started.

Some interesting reports that 'Spetznaz' are refusing to carry out their missions because of the strength of the Ukrainian defence.

If only they'd stayed in their own country...

People are making billions trading Russian bonds, so you are wrong. The sanctions do not apply to corporate bonds, also. For example, you can freely trade Yandex bonds.

Here's an example of how someone just made an ungodly amount of money on Russian government bonds, when the US Treasury, somewhat inexplicably, again authorized the use of Russia's frozen reserves to make payments on the bonds:

At the start of the week the bonds were trading at 20-30 cents as everybody was expecting a default. Then when the payment went through it skyrocketed.

Show me where it is

Anybody with a history like Russia's really can't get away with that kind of comment. Soviet Russia was simply imperialism under another name and far, far worse than the Brits, simply beyond comparison. Russian imperialism, Soviet style, is still alive and thriving even as we speak.

jon357
5 May 2022  #1035

a history like Russia's really

They're in denial about how bloody their history is. And as we can see from the genocide, the rapes, the looting, the torture and their pathetic denials, it isn't just history; it's their current reality.

What? The Irish invented concentration camps? That's news to me.

The Spanish apparently invented them in Cuba in the 1890s and even called them that, however truth has never been a Eussian thing. As camps go, 80 million people passed through their gulag system.

On a brighter note, as of (no pun intended) about half an hour ago the orcs have been driven out of the Azovstal plant for the third time, and are making zero progress in the Donbas. Some nice (official) stats below.

but English are taught that it was the Spanish

No. the British do learn about the Boer War including it's dark side, and it would surprise many or most people there to hear that they are in fact a Spanish invention. If you're going to try orc rhetoric, you'd better try a bit harder.

Now the Gulag (not whataboutery given the topic of the thread, whereas whining about century old wars against Boer white supremacists certainly is) are something people ought to know more about. Anne Applebaum's book on the matter is excellent.

The orc 'Filtration Camps' set up this month to terrorise abducted Ukrainians and the places they've been sent to in the 'russian' Far East are entirely within that tradition.

I wonder what sort of victory Vladolf Putler is going to announce at his 'victory parade' in a few days time. Especially since he has never had one.

the head of the Provisional IRA in the 1960s- early 1970s was an Englishman

And of course the old Haileyburian Erskine Childers and the Londoner Annie Besant were far from alone in the Independence movement.

Strange to see citizens of the two European countries with the darkest and bloodiest histories trying to make an equivalence between the wholesale slaughter in Ukraine at the moment and things of a century ago that have been learnt from and with hard work from both sides, moved on from to democracy and a very pleasant peace and prosperity.

And meanwhile, with echoes of the Holodomor, russia has stolen over 500,000 tons of wheat from Ukraine. They tried to sell some to Egypt who decently refused to touch it.

....well.....you aren't holding back exactly either, don't you Jon.

Judging a whole people with only the worst stereotypes as if they were some "Untermensch" like some racist comes easy to you!

What you have written about Russians alone here in that thread could had come out of the Nazi "Stürmer"....

jon357
5 May 2022  #1039

Boo hoo hoo.

If russians can't take it, they should have stayed within their own borders instead of making war against an independent neighbour. This never ends well.

Meanwhile, Vladolf Putler is having to apologise for Lavrov's vile words. Soon he'll be apologising to the world. That and paying reparations for every Ukrainian life lost at the hands of his 'soldiers', every home destroyed, every kindergarten or maternity hospital shelled.

Wait, if you guys were fighting the Boers in 1899 because they were white supremacists, and not - you know, to take their property and break their will to resist the British Crown, then why the fu*k did apartheid end only in 1990?

More Special Incendiary Operations in russia.

I think this is very significant.

Who?How?Why?With what aim?

Yet you just said how great the Russian market was and in another post Yandex is down 70% make up your mind comrade.

jon357
5 May 2022  #1043

Who?How?Why?

I ask the same questions. I suspect the answers will come out afterwards. Whoever it is, it's obviously working since the orcs have had more than 600 fires to put out.

atlanticcouncil.org/blogs/new-atlanticist/russian-war-report-new-fires-and-alleged-sabotage/

then why the fu*k did apartheid end only in 1990?

Ask de Klerk, Kruger, Terreblanche and the other ones who declared independence because they didn't want the majority rule we proposed decades earlier. The ones we sanctioned and boycotted while supporting those who did want majority rule. Remember, we aren't russia, however much whataboutery you try.

Apparently one of thos eresponsible for war crimes during the Bucha Massacre actually spray painted his instagram handle on the wall of a house he looted. Some of the orcs are very stupid indeed. twitter.com/AricToler/status/1522199158672830464

Why: Because Russians killed his twin brother.
With what aim: Who needs an aim when you are kicking Putin in the balls, amirite guys?

A lovely video filmed today of a russian tank (and its crew of trained killers) being taken out by an anti-tank guided missile, possibly a Spike missile.

I suspect the answers will come out afterwards.

Me too.

you are kicking Putin in the balls

Great stuff then!
But we need to kick this lunatic harder so that he can finally see sense.

A lovely video filmed today of a russian tank (and its crew of trained killers) being taken out by an anti-tank guided missile

Lovely video!

The Russian sympathizing posters on here need to wake up.
Nobody is winning this war.
Everyone is losing.
This invasion was a really stupid Russian idea.
The result of which will be a much stronger NATO, a huge distrust of Russia that will last for many years and economic devastation for Russia.

I do feel for the ordinary decent Russian people.
But it is well past time for you to stop hiding in your hovels.
Time to do as many countries in the West have done.
Rise up and rebel!
Time for a new Russian revolution!

Russia cannot win this war.

They need to get out of Ukraine to save face.

But they are stupid belligerent Russians
