Poland`s aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 2

Dirk diggler
13 May 2022  #1921

So a stalemate is a loss for Russia.

It's not a loss since afterall they still conquered far more territory than before this war. Before 2022 all they had was Crimea - that's essentially all they won in the 2014 conflict. Now they've solidified much of the south east - they consolidated Donetsk and Luhansk, no ukrop tanks are going there anytime soon, and captured Mariupol.

The Russians expected the ukrops to lay down like the Georgians did. They expected this to be over in a week or two - that's why the soldiers even bought their formal uniforms with them. They expected to be parading by now. However, once they realized that this isn't going to be an easy win they had to change strategy accordingly and regroup. They bought enough supplies for a few weeks, not a few months.

And will soon suffer economically from the sanctions.

Not really... the only "suffering" they had was in March when the war broke out and the west started sanctioning them. That's when the ruble plummeted. It's fully recovered since then.

Russia has been sanctioned since 2014. It's not a huge deal. Their trade surplus is at a record and the ruble has fully rebounded. The ruble is sitting higher today than through all of 2022. In fact, it's sitting higher today than the past 2 years.

They're going to find other countries to sell to like China, Iran, India, etc. China is thirsty for oil and gas and can easily replace the countries that won't import

In my book, that is a huge loss for Russia.

Well, it's not a win for Ukraine either. Unless you consider the win to be that they only lost part of their country and not the whole thing including the capitol. They were unable to reclaim Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, etc. after 2014 and in this campaign Russia has expanded the territory

So a stalemate is a loss for Russia

It's an absolute humiliation for them, and one that they'll have to deal with. Their media are already preparing them for news of the loss.

Their preferred (or claimed) option seems to be a long drawn out guerilla war in Donbas which they will lose. Putler's successor will of course change tack and withdraw with a pretence of dignity.

And will soon suffer economically from the sanctions.

Probably decades of isolation too and of course they're easy prey for China economically. They've really messed up this time.

Russia is currently using all its' future prospects up for this war. All the money that could have been used to bring its' infrastructure up to Western standards and diversify its' economy and instead went to the arm - gone. All the lucrative contracts it had with the West - gone or about to be cancelled in the next months and years. At best they will be replaced with worse conditions with China and other countries. Not that fossil fuel has much future anyway. So many of its' brightest people are fleeing the country and this trend will likely accelerate.

Sanctions forcing Russia to use appliance parts in military gear, U.S. says

washingtonpost.com/technology/2022/05/11/russia-sanctions-effect-military/

With Western technology sales banned, Russia is using computer chips meant for household appliances in battlefield gear, Commerce secretary tells a Senate hearing

Now we know why they loot washing machines etc....

U.S.-led sanctions are forcing Russia to use computer chips from dishwashers and refrigerators in some military equipment, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo said Wednesday.

"We have reports from Ukrainians that when they find Russian military equipment on the ground, it's filled with semiconductors that they took out of dishwashers and refrigerators," Raimondo told a Senate hearing, noting that she recently met with Ukraine's prime minister....

Russian military equipment on the ground, it's filled with semiconductors that they took out of dishwashers and refrigerators

Yes, there's a lovely picture a couple of pages ago showing a crashed helicopter with a washing machine in it. Moscow is running out of all sorts of things and hopefully it will get much worse for them.

China and other countries

A huge worry is that this will contribute to the rise of China.

Not that fossil fuel has much future anyway

The future is renewables and much more nuclear. Russia does have both however their hydro was all developed in the soviet era without much progress since and their nuclear safety record is poor. Plus they don't have the patents for the next generation STEP tokamak reactors and those who do are not well disposed to russia.

People on Twitter are saying that the shelling in the Belgorod region is being done by russia as a false flag and this tactic was discussed some time ago in leaked letters. Could this be propaganda? Maybe, however the source is a very good one.

Plus they don't have the patents for the next generation STEP tokamak reactors and those who do are not well disposed to russia.

Read about current commercial Russian fast neutron breeder reactors (BN series) and experimental BREST-OD-300 reactor with on-site spent fuel reprocessing and new fuel production modules. This unit will be autonomous, will burn long-living transuranic elements that produced during its operation on-site (almost no long living nuclear waste, compared to regular fuel reprocessing), and even produce some extra fissible material for fuel rods of regular reactors. Feedstock for BREST is depleted uranium that is super-abundant now, and considered dangerous waste by some countries.

Russia have good experience with fast neutron reactors (so, with materials that will work well in high fast neutron flow, as in energy producing tokamaks), and tokamak actually was invented in Russia, so when time will come, thermonuclear reactors will be created. For now, closed fuel cycle fast neutron fission is in works, and close to pilot plant start.

crashed helicopter with a washing machine in it.

Can you find catalog photo of that "washing machine"? ;) With two small hatches on front panel, not so typical for this type of appliances. ;)

BTW: What do you think of the Bulgarian "screaming Ukrainian mother"? Opinions are divided here. The mainstream doesn't believe anyone would get erection to such a creature, so she doesn't look like a mother. Lovers of literature remembered Gollum and "his precious", lovers of cinema fold to "alien"... My first idea was about the "victim of the comprachicos".

The EU package for Ukraine is only $500 million. Why so cheap???? Its your backyard. Americans dont want to pay for it!

Biden wants to give away $40 Billion of our tax dollars while you Euroclowns dont pay $hit.

The Europeans started 2 world wars already and we should not be funding their 3rd.

Thank you, Senator Paul:)

@Joker

Probably someone smart in the USA has calculated that $40 billion is peanuts money compared to the cost of a world in which China (in tandem with Russia) is the only real world superpower, and that's exactly what the fall of Ukraine might mean. The world in which dollar is no longer an international exchange currency, oil transactions are controlled fully by OPEC + Russia, with no leverage tools on them, would cost the US infinitely more than 40 billion. Hence the mongols (both in russia and in China) have to be contained.

Luckily, some Americans, who aren't easily manipulated by primitive populists, can see the wider picture.

bc we are all sick of it!

Na ja....

....As the conflict between Russia and Ukraine enters its third month, most Americans say they support actions taken by the Biden administration in response to the Russian invasion, such as placing strict economic sanctions on Russia, sending military equipment and weapons to Ukraine and stationing large numbers of U.S. military forces in NATO countries near Ukraine.....

pewresearch.org/politics/2022/05/10/americans-concerns-about-war-in-ukraine-wider-conflict-possible-u-s-russia-clash/

Majority of Americans are 'extremely' or 'very' concerned Russia may invade other countries

Majorities approve of strict economic sanctions against Russia, sending U.S. military equipment to Ukraine and deploying U.S. forces to NATO countries

500 million is only one installment from the EU. The EU itself doesn't have much money because taxpayers don't pay direct to the EU. All of us here who live in Poland pay our taxes to the Polish govt.

So you need to add up the contributions from each of the 26 countries and it is probably similar to the US 40 billion

Just catching up after heading to the Mountains for the weekend. The usual BS propaganda from the trolls. Interesting to note Russia cutting Finland off of their electricity supply today "over payments" certainly not over them deciding to join NATO. LMFAO Russian idiots. Once Finland adjusts, Russia loses a customer permanently. This is the Russian brain at work. Happy gulag biatches!

What?

The US, whose position as the only global superpower, the stability of dollar, the threat from China etc. etc., are at stake here, only giving twice as much as poor, backward and insignificant Poland? Anyway, if it wasn't for the US, then looking at this chart we might think that Poland is fighting a proxy war in Ukraine, with a little help from our NATO and European friends. ;)

Let's add to this the cost of providing free health service, education and child benefits to 3 million refugees and their children, and we would easily move to the first place. How on earth can we afford this? Kaczynski and Glapinski must have some secret treasure hidden somewhere. ;)

Ukraine Intelligence Service Predicts End of War and Putin Coup

"The turning point will come in the second half of August." By the end of the year, Ukraine would regain control of all its territories, including the Crimean Peninsula. Budanov also expected major changes in the Kremlin. In his view, it was a coup against Russian President Vladimir Putin already underway, but he has not provided any evidence to support his claims.

Wow!

Definitely. Russians are already withdrawing from Kharkiv area; it won't be long before the withdrawal in other areas starts.

but he has not provided any evidence to support his claims

Of course he hasn't. He can't blow the cover of people preparing the coup.

The reality of the past few weeks has shown a real picture of the combat capability of the Russian army

Is his name General Budanov or Captain Obvious? ;)

One has to admire Ukrainian ingenuity. They mount rocket launchers on various UTVs (including Polish made Polaris Ranger) to create tank destroyers...

Ukrainian TDs

... thanks to their speed and all-terrain mobility, those UTVs are deadly weapons on the Ukrainian front.

Of course. Ukraine has role to destroy as much as possible tanks produced in Europe. Destroy them this or the other way. Who survives will talk.

No "Multi-polar" is Russian code for "regional dictatorships".... the world divided into competing mafia territories.

Life under dictatorship might suit Russians and Serbs but freedom loving peoples will reject this criminal view.

Before 2022 all they had was Crimea

they consolidated Donetsk and Luhansk

Crimea,Donetsk & Luhansk were all effectively under Russian control before the war, so they have gained very little at a huge cost in lives and military equipment.

That is a big loss in anyones eyes.

Russia has been sanctioned since 2014. It's not a huge deal.

But not to this degree.

Tell the oligarchs that it's not a big deal LOL!!!!

And are only starting to bite, the sanctions will hurt Russia big time as the months pass.

China and India won't cosy up to Russia because they know that if they do it will effect their trade with the west, because feelings are so strong here.

No, whichever way you look at it, Russia is f****d.

onet.pl/informacje/onetwiadomosci/rosyjscy-zolnierze-poprosili-ukraincow-o-papierosy-tragiczny-final-wideo/7m41kr0,79cfc278

... his name is Dmitriy Lapshakov, he's 29 years old and was one of the soldiers who shot two Ukrainian civilians in their backs (the video was published by CNN on Thursday).

One benefit of social media is that every retard puts his photos and personal information online, which allows skillful IT specialists using facial recognition software to identify russian war criminals.

It's so lame fake that I don't even want to talk about it. Hours, if not days, passed between the first scene, where the soldiers are talking, and the second, where a vague silhouette with a machine gun shoots. The shadows are falling in a completely different direction, the sun has shifted dramatically.

But no one is interested in figuring it out. ;) Any propaganda crap is bought in bulk and eaten with big spoons. Like in Bucha.

Yes - VK, also known as RWCPR (russian War Criminals Photo Register). :)

Europe will never forget to us liberation from nazism.

Unfortunately these days nazis wear russian uniforms - all it takes is one glance at 'Wagner' (his photos were already posted here, no point making people look at his ugly mug again) and his 'elite' troops.

washing machine

Yes, it is a washer. They're also using semiconductors out of dishwashers. They are that messed up.

current commercial Russian fast neutron breeder

As for "current" reactors, STEP reactors are not 'current' at all and russia is incapable of producing any STEP reactors for the market. Nor would anyone buy them given that russia has the worst safety record in nuclear power as well as being a significant security concern. Sanctions also prevent purchase of nuclear technology from the orcs.

Major General Kyrylo Budanov

General Budanov also said " the war would "lead to the change of leadership of the Russian Federation" and claimed the "process has already been launched and they are moving into that way". When asked if a coup was underway, he responded: "Yes. They are moving in this way and it is impossible to stop it."

And of course he's been right on everything so far, even (especially) in the face of russian denials.

Perhaps we can expect something from Putler's successor mirroring the Khrushchev 'secret speech' condemning Putler's excesses and withdrawing back to their own borders. It won't get them off the hook though; sanctions will remain, reparations will need to be paid for the damage they've caused and there will,be war crimes trials. Their country will be isolated and impoverished for at least a generation.

The best news today is this, that the russists have lost the Battle of Kharkiv and are fleeing with their tails between their miserable orc legs.
