Poland`s aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 3

I love the fantasy of "Let's do a 1962 Cuba"

It was not a fantasy in 1962 when the US got the world to stop breathing for a while for less since the Soviet nukes never made it to Cuba.

We are not scared of you and we do not respect you.

As JR often asks, who the hell is "we"?
The US was scared enough of Krushchef and removed its missiles from Turkey. Somehow, the Soviets must have made a strong impression on Kennedy.

Nobody wants to live like Russians

Russians don't want to live like Russians so what's your point? Everybody wants to live in Switzerland on Lake Geneva.

That was 1962 - like all Commies and Russians you are obsessed with the past. Thing is that in those days there were some friendly governments - now there are none, except Belarus.

No, I am not obsessed. I just happen to know history.

thedefensepost.com/2022/06/07/poland-himars-us/

Poland continues arming itself: plans include 580 South Korean K2 Black Panther tanks, 48 KAI FA-50 jets and some more

"This time we are talking about a contract worth $7 billion, which will include 580 (!) South Korean K2 Black Panther main battle tanks and 48 KAI T-50 Golden Eagle trainer jets in the FA-50 version, that is, light support aircraft that are used for strike and reconnaissance missions."

Poland to Acquire 500 HIMARS From US

And who and where is the enemy?

Korvinus
21 Jul 2022  #246

They are invading Ukraine right now.

mafketis
21 Jul 2022  #247

And keep saying they want to do the same to Poland.... so, Viva NATO! Viva HIMARS!!!!!!

They are invading Ukraine right now.

1. How does the Polish gov know that Russia intends to invade Poland?
2. What would Russia do with Poland if successful?

himars is one thing. but Poland has no AA to speak of.gotta have some gear to defend your shiny toys.from what i know, we only have osa system and manpads. Poland needs AA most. dont remember, but those partiots in Poland are US own. we dont have any

know that Russia intends to invade Poland?

Know? No.

But it's a reasonable assumption, given rhetoric by state representatives that "success" in Ukraine would be followed by further invasions and Poland is high up on the list.

Better to be prepared.

gregy741
21 Jul 2022  #251

Better to be prepared.

if Russia ever decide to attack NATO,it wont be conventional end of such story. and himars will not protect Poland from sarmats.

Russia is trying to keep the civilian casualties low

Putin gave medals to the unit that is likely responsible for the massacre in Butcha. They are constantly shelling civilian targets in Western Ukraine, far away from the front line.

The US Republicans and Trump are nothing more than Putin puppets

Sad to say but there is some truth in what you say.
They have too many financial interests in Russia.

Poland would have been completely F'd with Republicans in charge

Sadly, this is also true.

Novichok
21 Jul 2022  #254

But it's a reasonable assumption,

Bullsh*it. Before Putin could sell the idea of invading Poland, it would be infinitely easier to fire up other Russians to retake the Baltics. Do Baltics have all these tanks and artillery Poland wants? Of course not because "they are NATO. Hahahaha". I am answering for you.

But so is Poland hiding behind the US lower back where it's warm and cozy, plus that Article 5. So you are covered and can slack off the way Germany and other parasites did. Being on the US military welfare is a wonderful thing.

Poland does not matter now just as it didn't matter way back. You are a nuisance - just like Ukraine. The US taxpayers would be better off without both - as a liability and a royal pita.

Everybody wants to live in Switzerland on Lake Geneva.

Switzerland is totally overrated!

and can slack off the way Germany and other parasites did

Hey! ;)

The US taxpayers would be better off without both

There are worse taxes to get rid off first....surely.....

The military generally is a huge cash cow for any economy, make no mistake....NATO and all things army are no welfare industry. Just think about all the jobs and production lines which in turn generate massive incomes and hence taxes for any government....the US would be no better off without it, no way!

Which taxes do you mean especially you would like to cut in the US which the "parasites" live off?

here what ursula said today. that in case of russia cutting gas supply to germany, all EU members will be required to cut energy use by 15 % to provide safety net for germany.

in such case, Polands energy security will not matter for Poland. cus it still gonna have to cut gas consumption and feed Germany. looks like EU is trying to spread the impact of energy shortage across the EU members to save german industry. altho,am not sure if i understood this correctly.:

In Germany that sounds differently:

EU to save 15 percent gas
Status: 07/20/2022 2:12 p.m

The EU Commission considers a gas supply stop by Russia to be "realistic". However, the EU could safely get through the winter if all member countries would save 15 percent on gas. If necessary, the Commission wants to force savings.

In the event of a gas emergency, the EU Commission has proposed a 15 percent reduction in gas consumption in the EU member states. This should initially be based on a voluntary basis, but could also become mandatory. In the event of an emergency, the Commission is seeking special powers in order to be able to enforce even more drastic measures in Europe. ...

tagesschau.de/wirtschaft/eu-gasnotfallplan-101.html

No word that has to do anything with "saving Germany" though....

..."EU-Alarm" as a new emergency tool

If this is not enough, the Commission wants to take action with a new "emergency instrument" and call out an "EU alarm". The supply of private households and facilities that require special protection, such as hospitals, must be ensured. For such an "emergency instrument", however, the member states would have to agree to a new legal basis.

Von der Leyen justified the plans: "We have to prepare for a possible complete disruption of Russian gas supplies." This is a likely scenario. ...

The supply of private households and facilities that require special protection, such as hospitals, must be ensured

I guess that would be important for ALL EU members?

Does that "We are being forced to save Gas to help Germany out" coming from the fact that Ursula von der Leyen is of german nationality? Does Poland still have such a difficult time with german politicians in the EU? Honest interest here....

Admonition to act together

It has been seen in the past that Russia is trying to put pressure on the EU by reducing gas supplies. According to von der Leyen, a complete stop in deliveries would hit all EU countries hard. At the same time, she stressed that the EU could overcome the difficulties if it acted as one.

She emphasized that solidarity is necessary. She hopes that the EU member states are ready to help each other out.

Oh I see....the last sentence is a problem?

Maybe we can make a deal.....you send us the Gas we are about to need and we send all the military stuff we still have laying and standing uselessly around...

@Bratwurst Boy
Sounds like a win-win for Germany

I think Poland should share some of it's gas reserves, even tho it feels like Poland been studying for the test, got a six grade, and now have to get five instead so that it can increase the average by giving rest of the class a grade up for it. Which sounds like:total nonsense!

But, it's geopolitically a smart move if Poland can afford

Looks like the F-16 Jets or similar over Ukraine will happen soon. Let's not hope it will not be another 4 months of paperwork!

High-powered Western fighter jets could be sent to Ukraine to bolster its forces in the battle against the Russian invasion, the head of the United States Air Force has said.

Gen Brown raised the prospect of US fighter jets, Swedish Gripen jets, the Eurofighter Typhoon and French-made Rafale fighters as possible options.

telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2022/07/21/western-fighter-jets-could-sent-ukraine-boost-forces-us-plans/

In the meantime the Russia army is it's own worst enemy!

Here is a credible report that they shot down one of their own cutting edge fighters, a SU-34M.

Looks like the F-16 Jets or similar over Ukraine will happen soon.

The U.S. fighter jets are on the way to Ukraine.
In March, the U.S. and NATO scuttled Poland's proposal to send its Russian built MiGs to Ukraine.
The White House claimed at the time the proposal might be "mistaken as escalatory" and could provoke a Russian military confrontation with NATO.
What changed ?
Poland didn't want to send their Migs saying it would be harder to get parts for them from Russia.
So, the United States picks up the slack again.

But they aren't really dealing with it rather hoping Biden throws some more money at them.

Have you noticed they barely mention Ukraine on TV anymore?

Its time the cheap Euros step up...... After all, its your backyard.

Ukraine wont get US F series fighters. They will likely get the A-10 Warthogs. These planes are being retired by the US, and getting rid of them does not pose any risk since they really aren't being used. These planes though would be a game changer for Ukraine. They are designed primarily to attack ground units and the Russian military on the ground would be in deep $hit.

Meanwhile CNN got first hand look at what's inside a Russian drone. Components from EU and USA are inside, and one from France was made after the invasion began. Smuggling clearly still a big problem.

Russists had probably bought big supplies of components before the invasion - they had predicted what kind of sanctions would be imposed.

.while the Euros are watching and giggling.

Stop lying. Poles aren`t.

Polam just told you the manufacture date was after the invasion started, you have a higher opinion of the frogs that is warranted.

Ukraine wont get US F series fighters.

That's o.k plenty of air to air attack fighter types from european countries that can match the F-16 and blow the sukhoi and migs out of the sky. The latest Gripen models are esp kick as*.

EU is falling to its knees, Russia doesn't even have to fire a bullet, it only destroys them economically, if someone had told me this, I wouldn't have believed him.

A slight economic decline in the gay EU, and they are already crying as if it is the end of the world. They are simply not used to all that, that's why governments are falling so much, and they will only do so even more come winter. While Russia has been used to poverty for decades, a 10% drop in the economy in Russia is like a 1% drop in the EU. That's how the citizens feel.

22 Jul 2022  #269

Russia has been used to poverty for decades

this is not the endorsement that you might think it is...

it's the truth, because russian culture and social norms are inferior... and a good reason to fight against russkij mir

join the russkij mir and be impoverished for decades due to a whim of the tsar... not great advertising.....

Serbian TV IN4S from Crna Gora with the exclusive about the abandoned Ukrainian tanks, APC's including the British Saxon, heavy trucks, weapons and drones that the Russians captured in Lisichansk.

Our reporter Igor Damjanovic with the exclusive

it was an "orderly" tactical retreat

During their running away, they leave behind more armour in one city than the army of a smaller country like Slovakia, has in total in their arsenal.
