My explanation for some of your claims is that Russia, as opposed to the American MIC, is not an aggressive country. They have proven my point by not repeating the fiasco in Afghanistan until, in their minds at least, they were pushed beyond the red line. Even then, their invasion was limited to just beyond their doorstep, not the US-style, thousands of miles away - or far enough to make the claim of "self-defense" sound like a bad joke. It's like me shooting a guy from 500 yards and claiming that he was a threat to me.

There are defensive and aggressive weapons. 11 aircraft carrier groups and bases all over the globe are attributes of aggression. No other country besides the US has any of that.

Russia will never again be seen as a super power. Their only power is the nukes which like the rest of the military are more likely than not, rusting and not to be trusted to be accurate. Russia let its window to be a real impact on the world close. The invasion of Ukraine and the complete failure of the military is the last straw in this comedy of errors.
