The Russian army broke through from the south and east to the part of Bakhmut/Artemovsk with residential buildings.

The transformer station that was hit in the morning in Odessa is still burning, most of the area is still without electricity.

Democracy and freedom is priceless, isn't it?

It depends on who is President. After the disastrous Xiden the Dems will be out for several cycles. I dont like Putin but we simply cant afford to keep giving our money and weapons stockpile. The EU has plenty of money and should be paying for the vast majority instead of us.

@Joker
It's being given as a prestigious show of status, similar with Covid. It's inter state/inter political competition. Which state/society is able to provide the most and which state one should be around and support.

It started off as a Pro-USA Poland against a neutral, but later pro-Putin Belarus. Now it has escalated in to who is it better to side with? U.S.A or Russia, at the moment Russia is basically knocked out of the race, but those who were supported by Russia are being picked up by China mostly so far.

U.S.A is withdrawing more and more from the international stage, with your opinion only proving it. The mood in America will change more towards your liking, I am quite sure of it joker.

There will be less money given for sure just as a political mask, then US influence will wane off further and American businesses will have more stop signs then welcome signs, and dictatorships will increase in the world.

I guess your welcome? Cause you will get the impression you will more bucks right?

ground-launched small new diameter bombs (GLSDB) co produced by SAAB with the 150km range

saab.com/products/ground-launched-small-diameter-bomb-glsdb

The estimated cost is $40k each - bargain! I'm thinking about putting one in my shed for home defence - just need to save up for the launcher

@amiga500
Exactly as I said yesterday, and while US ramps up production, SAAB has likely been ramping up for weeks, and we have no idea how many are warehoused. When these get into the field, in the south specifically, the eastern side of the river in Kherson will be pummeled into submission as the road to Crimea begins. The fastest end to little Vlad is the end of Crimean occupation, or the loss of Crimean property from oligarchs and elites.

Accurate to within one meter. Just a little better than the Orc bombs that are accurate within 500 meters. This kind of accuracy is going to be very problematic for Orc barracks, and ammo dumps.

There is apparently 17000 SDB without launcher rolling around gathering dust since the Afghan War.

How many of these are ready to use is unknown

I dont like Putin but we simply cant afford to keep giving our money and weapons stockpile.

US influence would be damaged if they kept losing to inferior enemies. Since Americans retreated from Afghanistan they cannot back down now. Especially since the situation is so politically beneficial: it's not guys from New York or Texas dying in this war. No coffins covered in US banner to return home. Just transfer some military surplus, share some intelligence data and watch Russian war machine get wrecked, weakening a potential ally of China.

This war may be a prelude to ultimate clash of the global empires: US and China. But that's exactly why America cannot let Russia win.

Another day, another perversion of the russian orthodox church (a debased gangster operation and not a church at all)

Wow 17000 your say. Thats a lot of boom boom that could be heading to Ukraine. I wonder how many Orcs each one can take out when they are found in big groups. After watching the video SAAB produced I am guessing they can take out large numbers with each one.

@mafketis
Couldnt happen to a nicer person. lol

Welcome home - Bakhmut!

Also in the news today - Israeli politician reveals that Zelensky first emerged from his bunker, after he called him to convey that Putin had made assurances not to kill him.

On the one hand, I agree - best not to make a martyr out of Zelensky. On the other hand, we might have been able to present a bill to the West for money saved. Say,... a payment of $100B, in exchange for saving you the $200B you blew on "Ukraine packages", and the other trillion spent on increased energy costs. I think it would have been a good deal.

US and China. But that's exactly why America cannot let Russia win.

Agree! That looks more and more like the first proxy war in the already running US - China conflict. The reason the US will support Ukraine till the end.

The question is how China will react now....will Xi let Ukraine go as a first but not so important (for China) loss? Meaning ending China's support of Russia? To concentrate on more worthy pieces like Taiwan?

Tacitus
5 Feb 2023  #347

The issue for China is probably that Russia's worth as an ally would hardly counterbalance the negative consequences of a Chinese intervention if it is already unable to defeat a poorer and much smaller neighbour. As it stands, Russia might become a second Italy as an ally - more a milestone than actual help -. There used to be speculation that Russia might be intented to apply pressure on Europe when China finally tries to conquer Taiwan to divert the Wests' ressources. That idea looks increasingly unrealistic with each passing day degrading the Russian military potential even further.

Too early for the Orcs to declare victory in Bakhmut yet. It might happen but I think a few thousand more rapists and housebreakers need to be sacrificed first

No, it will not since Ukraine is winning.

That idea looks increasingly unrealistic with each passing day degrading the Russian military potential even further.

Based on your current information and projections, when will Russia be forced to leave C, D, and L and surrender? Plus, minus one year will be fine.

Why not? Once the main objective of making a ton of money has been met...

One of the few residents of the cursed degenerate state of russia who deserves capitalization, Denis Zakharov, has an interesting thread on the changing russian propaganda narrative and a possibly encouraging sign....

twitter.com/betelgeuse1922/status/1622193201808285697

tldr: the narrative has shifted to try to keep putain away from blame, yet twice in the last week (after nothing for a year) he's heard the idea that putain is weakening the country... might be nothing... or it might not....

When do you think "the cursed degenerate state of Russia" will be out of C, D, and L?
Also, what was the value of your support in cash, services, or goods?

Apparently you cannot read English. If you could, you would read that oil prices have plummeted. You would also read that Russian exports were down 60% last month, and the US jobs report the other day published that three times as many than were predicted new jobs were created in the US. This is what winning in a proxy war looks like. Russia's toilet economy is being propped up by printing more and more rubles. When you print money and do not have any money coming in, you are in deep $hit. The US gets away with is because it is the worlds largest economy, and it is growing despite economic conditions and terrible pandemic management.

@Novichok
Before the second anniversary of this war Putin will be dead and/or out of Ukraine. If I can find odds at a casino in Vegas in April I will actually place a bet on it.

5 Feb 2023  #356

Will be out of Luhansk in 2023. Out of Donetsk in 2024 and probably will give up Crimea as part of the surrender. Krolowiec will also be handed over to UN control in the same settlement

Tacitus
5 Feb 2023  #357

Russia's toilet economy is being propped

What many people also fail to understand is that the Russian economy is also probbed up by the mobilization in the short run. The conscripts are paid more than average wages and once they die, their family receives a new state-paid Lada which in turn boosts production rates. However not only are those recruits and the arms industry not producing anything of lasting "value" in return, the state will also be settled with compensations to their family and in the case of death permanently deprieve the labour market of people which is one of the effects of the war that worsens Russia's demographic time bomb.

Before the second anniversary of this war Putin will be dead and/or out of Ukraine.

That was the way I like it - simple and numerical. So for the record:

PAK - On Feb 25, 2024, C, D, and L will be re-united with Ukraine.
Novichok - WHFO aka never.

How about you, maf?

Will be out of Luhansk in 2023. Out of Donetsk in 2024

Give me the date when all three - C, D, and L - will be reunited with Ukraine. So far, we have Feb 25, 2023, from PAK.

31st Dec in both cases

That is the night normal people celebrate with their families with nice food and watch fireworks. In Russia you will be hunched over a bottle of cleaning fluid with some sprats, some bitter cuban oranges and some crappy balalaika music coming out of the Mongolian radio.

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki admitted that anti-Russian sanctions have little effect on Moscow.

"What is striking is that Russia will develop faster this year and next than Germany. And this is despite the sanctions," Morawiecki said.

twitter.com/PeImeniPusha/status/1621526728832344067

What is "striking" about it? Except for idiots with the support of the mass media.

Mateusz, please ask Brussels and the ECB to print money to finance your war with the Russians. I think it will improve your economy, credits, loans and so on.

Ehhh my dear Poljaci...

Sometimes when I get angry with us as a people for all our failures, delusions and retardations - I see what is happening in Poland and remember that we are not that bad, far from it.

The Poles are awaiting for many many realizations, disappointments, disbelief and, at the end of everything, a revolution.

For example, the Poles are the only nation in Europe that did not experience emancipation from the clergy in history - all the others more or less went through some kind of reformation, if we exclude those countries where the church never even rivaled/threatened the power of the state (such as ours in Balkans).
