Since 24.02.2022 till 17.01.2023 9.252 mln people crossed the border from Ukraine to Poland. In the same period of time 7.422 mln people crossed the border from Poland to Ukraine. Which means that on 17.01.2023 there were 1.830 mln people from Ukraine being present on the territory of Poland (unless some of them moved further to the West, of course).

9.252 mln - 7.422 mln = 1.830 mln

I don't know about where you are, but in Krakow most of the Ukraine people have left and returned to Ukraine. Very few still here, definitely much quieter, and no lines at all at the help centers. Only the very old and mothers with young children are here now.

Where I am the number of Ukrainians seems more like not long before the pandemic... you hear them a lot on the street and in stores (both as clients and employees) but far less than march-june of last year. The line for emergency help (which I see on the way to work) barely exists now.

I think for many the war has entered the stage where russian defeat is more or less a given (minus massive dramatic help from whatever country wants to be on the US's sh[t list and frozen out of the global economy). The big russian offensive has been a bust (unless the aim was to kill off tens of thousands of russians soldiers) putain's big speech yesterday was a yawn fest that bitterly disappointed those who want escalation (or just something like sanity) from him....
