You definitely have not read the documents. This spying was completely unknown to Ukraine until the leak. Russia now moving certain peoples offices to higher floors with access to balconies. Some of the information was very important and telling.

Yeah, I haven't read the documents as I am not in need of reading them. I don't work for any intelligence agency nor need to know the details so that I could make thorough report about the subject...

It has nothing to do with feeling victorious. I read them because it sounded serious, and it is serious. I am sure Ukraine now thinks its serious and probably has a lot of questions as to why the US would spy on them. It also lends more strength to the corruption complaints of many. I am sure many more NATO countries and US allies are now wondering how much the US is watching them. Lots of questions to unpack on this.

I take everything released publicly with a whole tablespoon of salt. I assume that all kinds of things are leaked for reasons that I'm not privy to.....

I do know that if I were preparing a major assault I'd make sure that lots of 'leaks' happened that indicated low morale, running out of equipement etc.

I don't know if something like that is happening. but.... I could understand if it was.... it will be years before anything remotely like the full story is known.

It was leaked by Russians, and the US has said that some of it is real while parts are doctored up. These documents were strategic and now there are multiple investigations going on. I dont think it will be years, if they can catch the person who did it, they will make an example of them. They are calling this a Snowden level event. That is saying a lot.

It's a bullshit game and you know it. Putin invades, people flee, he holds a phony referendum with the people still there and cheats anyway. Rinse, repeat.

If Ukraine, or any other country, respects that, Putin will just do it again and again. It's not just about the war today. It's about the next war, and the next.

But why should they? There was no military conquest of Crimea by Ukraine. Crimea have always belonged to them. You can as well expect of US, out of the blue, to propose a referendum to check if Florida wants to be part of the USA, or by Germs to check if Bavaria wants to be part of Germany. Or if Moscow wants to be part of Russia.
