Maybe this slowdown is best considering no new funding is on the way.
Somebody forgot to tell the Russian army that fighting in wet or frigid conditions is not advisable.
Two Russian offensives are active at the moment. One on the Kupyansk direction, and the other is an attempt to effect an encirclement of Avdeevka.
The Ukrainians are starting to sing the same song they sang during Lisichansk, Severodonetsk, and Bakhmut. It goes something like this:
1) The Russians are unsuccessfully throwing waves of meat at our fortified positions. Each attack has been effectively repelled. We won't surrender a single inch of Ukrainian land to the Russian aggressor. SLAVA UKRAINI!!!
2) The Russians are losing so many people attacking our position! We are bleeding their army dry. The forces opposite us have lost all offensive potential.
3) Under relentless pressure, our forces have retreated to more advantageous positions on elevated ground. The situation is fully under control.
4) Ground lines of communication are in desperate peril. Movement of forces into Avdeevka, and evacuation of wounded is becoming more difficult by the day. We are sending an urgent plea for help to our North Atlantic partners - Ukraine requires new means of countering the Russian onslaught.
5) Our forces have executed a masterful retreat from besieged Avdeevka. The Russians have lost tens of thousands of men, in exchange for a tiny slice of territory. This attritional model was envisaged by the brilliant General Zaluzhny, under the wise supervision of Generalissimus Zelensky.
6) Send more help. Please.
