Anyone know when the next round of funding for Ukraine is coming from the US? Since the last one was two months ago, there might be some problems coming. Down to 14 months now, and if Europe cant pick up a lot of the support not coming from the US it is going to become very bad very quick.

What did they say about 3 and X?

And if you don't understand what I'm referring to.... then you're officially an uninformed person whom no one should pay attention to).

"Simon, you're mistaken," an aide said. "People are stealing like there's no tomorrow.""

Everyone should read the Time Magazine article by Simon Schuster, referred to by AntV.

It's a pretty complete indictment of Zelensky as a maniac.

Zelensky as a maniac.

too bad putin's dead.... (actually that's not bad) what's hilarious is the government has to issue denials that he's dead.... this is your country and you don't even know if the leader is alive or dead.... how effin' pathetic is that?

in your country you can't openly mouth your opinions without being arrested.... and that's the system that you defend!

the only reason the Time magazine article was written is that Ukraine (even under attack by russian maniacs) is still abou 1000% more open and transparent than russia....

let's pretend putin is still alive.... what will happen when he does bite the big one?

contrast that with what would happen in a relatively normal country......

contrast that with what would happen in a relatively normal country......

I am so very proud that Russia is not a normal country. It is what allows us, with just 150M and an economy the size of Italy, to punch waaaay above our weight in the world. It's also become a part of our individual mindsets. Russians are not normal people.

This wasn't always the case - where I support being weird. I used to think we could really benefit from a sustained period of normalcy - say, at least 30 years.

You know... not blow up our Tsars, not execute them and their families, not to stage February and October Revolutions, not to have Civil Wars, not to fight Hitler beyond what "cowardly" countries like France did, not to have Perestroikas, and GKChP coup attempts, wars with Chechens, or alcoholics as president.

I thought, if Russia has a nice uninterrupted run of normalcy - it's pretty much destined to grow immensely strong. The main argument for this, was how well Russia was doing in the decade before WW1. The fastest growing economy in the world, with a breathtaking rate of industrialization. On top of the world in art, music, literature, ballet. Our scientists contributing to important breakthroughs.

Our national love for extremes can sometimes become exhausting.

but only in negatives... like creating chaos.... meanwhile the vast majority of russians life in filth and degradation and are infantilized and totally incapable of rational or independent thought...

and you like that because you fancy yourself in the 1% or so....

How can you be proud of not being normal?

Actually, your economy is much less than the size of Italy, which is poor in any case......

meanwhile the vast majority of russians life in filth and degradation

That is the truth of the matter.Russia has failed as a nation and more importantly it has failed it's people.

No I've watched too many videos about everyday russians and they're all large babies who just want to be minded and not bothered with the need to make decisions for themselves.... a great amount of time and energy has been spent to creat such an insufferably infantile crowd....

how can you stand being around them? A country made up of 99.99% NPCs and most of the rest are morally reprehensible ghouls....

25% of Russians does not have indoor plumbing.

Our scientists contributing to important breakthroughs

Russia had all of two Nobel Prize laureats until 1933. Switzerland produced 3 (of science that is).

On top of the world in art, literature, ballet

On ballet maybe. But art? If one thinks of 19th-20th century artists, one thinks of Picasso, van Gogh, Matisse. Paris was the center of the modern art.

Literature? Nobody outside of Russia read Russian literature. Not even the Russian high society did. They prefered to read (and often speak) in French or German.

Russia had some influence yes, but hardly comparable, let alone greater to the other great powers.

Bobko, leave these scumbags alone. The more they believe what they wrote above, the more painful it will be for them to break the pattern in the coming years. ;) I observed this process with Ukrainians who went to Russia for the first time in 20 years and suddenly discovered that there may be no pits on the roads, and even between cities the highway may be lit at night. ;) And that you don't have to bring your own medicine to the hospital. ;) And it was necessary to see their eyes when at one o'clock in the morning at them on the site, hosts ordered (with delivery) everything for a late dinner with unexpectedly dropped guests and in 45 minutes the courier brought packed meals, bread and fruit ... For 1.5 euros at the current exchange rate for delivery and at prices close to Auchan ready meals section.

Being abnormal is not a bad thing. Especially when normality involves pedophiles queuing for your children and regular queer parades between pogroms perpetrated by the supposed descendants of slavery victims. ;)

25% of Russians does not have indoor plumbing.

Did you asked them why, and where? At least 2/3 of rural cabins, that used to live during summer vacations only, does not have indoor plumbing. Because they have outdoor toilets installed right over underground septic. Minimum cost both to install and maintain, minimum water spent to keep system clean, and not so much inconveniences. Did you count that into your stats?

But art?

Guess you have not heard of Marc Chagall, Vasily Kandinsky, or Kazimir Malevich,

Literature

Guess you haven't read Nabokov, Tolstoy, Bulgakov, or Pasternak.

Russia had all of two Nobel Prize laureats

Here's a nice little article for you:

Being abnormal is not a bad thing.

It really is not, especially when - as you said - normality is the grotesque circus that is the self-destructing West.

But even if we continue to be forever poor, and the West forever rich - I would rather persist in being a strange Russian, than an American "normie".

Being Russian is immensely fulfilling, first and foremost on a spiritual level. You could say I'm practically floating above the ground, from my extraordinary sense of righteous superiority. What amount of money can buy me this gift?

Being a Russian or a Pole is more than a passport.
Today, "American" or "British" means nothing. Some a-hole from Gaza goes to the US, gets naturalized, and now is an American with demands.

The same guy could live in Russia for 100 years and still would not be a Russian. At least not to me.
The US is now a garbage country for surplus people nobody wants.

Meanwhile, back to the war in Ukraine. The good news for Europe and Ukraine is that European gas storage facilities are almost completely full. So much so that the EU is looking to store additional reserves in Ukraine. This time last year, Russia was talking about freezing the EU out of supporting Ukraine, that didnt happen. This year it definitely wont happen with gas prices dropping steadily. Long term, its not looking good for any Russian gas export reboot to Europe even after the war is over. This is a big problem for little Vlad.

Again though, funding for Ukraine in the US, still not moving. Congress telling sleepy Joe that if he wants money for Ukraine and Israel, then funding for the IRS is going to be how its paid for. Seems the new speaker of the house, wants to start actually controlling deficit spending. This is bad news for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. Good news for US taxpayers. 14 months to go before a new president is in the US, and my 14 month prediction is maybe a little to generous now. Ukraine needs to make a major move once the ground freezes, or get to the negotiating table.

Yes, especially while you are still staying in comfy US jaccuzzi instead of Russian cess pool. hahahaha

the more painful it will be for them to break the pattern

It isn`t painful for Westerners to break this pattern. First of all, it is painful for Russians to do it.

Very much so. It's a mentality you can find a bit here and there in Poland but to see what looks like a whole country in the grips of apathetic apoliticism and moral incapacity is awful.... anyone who thinks that's something worth exporting to (or forcing on) other countries is crazy or evil or both.

Being a Russian or a Pole is more than a passport.

someone doesn't know much about modern russia...

Because they have outdoor toilets installed right over underground septic.

Sure, who needs such "luxuries" anyway?

Nabokov, Tolstoy, Bulgakov, or Pasternak.

Tolstoy, yes. But that's about it. Other countries produced significantly more famous writers at the time.

Here's a nice little article for you:

But where were the really great discoveries been made? Russia has no Charles Darwin. French and German universities were the centers of innovation in microbiology. When Russian chemista published their findings, they did so in French, German and increasingly English.

The Russians did make important discoveries, but they were far off what other countries achieved. Which makes sense given how few ressources the Russian state put into education ans universities.

Velund

Sure, who needs such "luxuries" anyway?

So, you can spend 5x more for a complete system, ending at same septic, and every fall take care to remove all water from the system to avoid freezing and pipe breaking. This is summer homes, after all, nobody lives there during cold season. But if you have extra money, nobody prohibit you to dig it into the ground in your garden and get extra mandatory maintenance. ;)

US jaccuzzi instead of Russian cess pool. hahahaha

Did you checked what is filling that "US jaccuzzi", or still believe 1970's hollywood movies about sweet life there? My friends who emigrated in the end of 70's tell that now it is entirely different country, and they doubt they would make the same decision now.

Memo to the PF Russians:

Stop justifying what is with what was centuries ago. It's pointless but starts discussions that lack a "therefore, what?" conclusion.

The same advice applies to Israel vs, Palestine debates as well. Who was first where way back is a waste of time as it never ends with one side saying: Oh, we didn't know that. Sorry, we need a month to move.

The only thing that matters is the size of your fist.

Poland happily took Szczecin and Wroclaw from Stalin and never questioned the morality and legality of accepting stolen property.
