Speaking of "Germanija", according to new reports the German government has decided to double the military aid for Ukraine in 2024 (from 4bn to 8bn).

But not in Russian. They call Germans Germaniec

Wrong!

We call them Niemcy.

It means: retarded person that cannot speak Russian.

This kind of claim reminds me of the parents who beat a child to death and later said: "We are not saying we are perfect parents" before given life no parole.

While Germany doubles its spending for next year in Ukraine to 8 billion, there is still no money from the US and no movement on a negotiated package to send more money for Ukraine. The last billion dollars worht of weapons is heading to Ukraine shortly, and then it is going to get very difficult to take more land back. Will Ukraine get their F16s in the air once the ground is frozen? Will Abrams tanks arrive on the field any time soon? More than a thousand Russians killed in one day last week and little Vlad keeps sending more men.

Interesting.....

Former NATO chief for Ukraine's partial accession without occupied territories

tagesspiegel.de/internationales/liveblog/ohne-die-von-russland-besetzten-gebiete-ex-nato-chef-rasmussen-fur-teilbeitritt-der-ukraine-4309180.html

Former NATO chief Anders Fogh Rasmussen proposes that Ukraine join the transatlantic military alliance without the territories occupied by Russia. By leaving out the occupied territories in the south and east of the country, the risk of an open conflict between Russia and NATO would be reduced, the Dane told the British "Guardian". Partial accession and the associated commitment of allied partners to provide assistance "would deter Russia from attacks on Ukrainian territory within NATO" and thus enable the Ukrainian armed forces to concentrate on front-line fighting away from the heartland, according to excerpts from the interview provided to the "Guardian" published on Saturday.

This step would not symbolize a freezing of the conflict between the aggressor Russia and Ukraine, emphasized Rasmussen, who was NATO Secretary General from 2009 to 2014. Moscow must understand that Ukraine cannot be prevented from joining the alliance. (dpa)

....also for that, as with the EU, such a membership needs unanimity....hence abit doubtful.

It requires Rasmussen's level of idiocy to believe that Russia winning the war will accept such result

More than a thousand Russians killed in one day last week and little Vlad keeps sending more men.

Only thousand? Just inflate the number up to a million a day for wow effect

I think he is trying to be pragmatic (look at what happened in Korea and Germany)

He is clearly open for dividing Ukraine as long as it creates a lasting peace/tension people/states can accept.

To me it's Scandinavian naïveté cause Uki's will most likely try and use NATO to their advantage on any "pretext" to escalate things. Russians should know that and point that out

As a russian i can say that the division of the ukraine is out of scope of the discussion here. The ukraine is part of Russia and that is it.

The Ukraine is part of Russia and that is it.

Just as Alaska and Hawaii are parts of the US. End of discussion.
Just in case some clown here decides to argue that both became US states "legally", the whole US became the US illegally. The passage of time is irrelevant.

I dont inflate numbers, no need to. More men sent to the front lines means more men dead. Strange how that works out isnt it? Works for both sides, only Ukraine is more efficient at killing and Russian men are poorly equiped. It also doesnt help that so many Russian officers have been killed, leading to poor leadership of these conscripts, which leads to additional deaths.

On the Ukraine side, the military is said to be creating a better volunteer formula. So people can sign up to play specific roles in the military they are interested in. Once again avoiding a full mobilization, and likely meaning the numbers of enlistments will continue to diminish.

Hmmm... Both had significant Russian presence in the past. I think Russia has all rights to claim both Alaska and Hawaii back...

Do you know why the west is loosing? It is very simple, the west is literally drowning in its own propaganda. The elites are just believing their own propaganda narratives which do not match the reality at all

PolAmKrakow

@ConstantineK
The west isnt losing, and it sure isnt losing to Russia. More Russians trying to get to the west than want to stay in Russia. Get your facts straight. If you live in Russia I feel sorry for you. I have been there several times, and its really light years behind the west in nearly every way. Russia cant even beat Ukraine and its going on two years! WTF are you talking about. More Russian soldiers dead and wounded than Ukraine soldiers. The only thing Russia did well was capture territory early and hold on to most of it because Ukraine, chiefly Z was too fvcking stupid to listen to the US who was telling the world Russia would invade. The west is losing? I dont think so.

Do you know why the west is loosing?

I don't see the West losing....and if it's surely not because of it's "propaganda"!

Due the fact that in western democracies everybody, absolutely everybody, can speak and write and yell everything he wants to, even if it is the biggest crap, doesn't mean it's losing, just that it's flaws and faults and inner fights and discussions are out in the open for everybody to see.

That makes for a very fractioned image...sure....but history has shown that regimes with a tightly controlled image, where only a few decide what the world is allowed to see, may look stronger, alot more stable, but that this is an error, that this is just not true and never has....these "strong" regimes have all fallen in the past and the "weak" fractured, inner fighting, fractured West still stands!

There is a lesson innit somewhere...

The ukraine is part of Russia and that is it.

That's bullshit.

Russia got most of Ukraine including Kyiv in 1667 in the Truce of Andruszewo (was supposed to return Kyiv to Poland after 2 years, but never did so).

Did it stop Russian advance westward? Of course not. Russians didn't stop until most of Poland, including Warsaw became part of the empire.

If you want to live peacefully with Russia you need to be a member of an alliance Moscow fears too much to chimp out.

Do you know why the west is loosing?

Lol, army that cannot defeat Ukraine won't go into confrontation with NATO.

I just came home from a discussion meeting at the local LGBT "church". Today, the subject was the ICC arrest warrant for Putin as a war criminal who "kidnapped" Ukrainian kids to take them out of the war zone to safety.

It took only one question to shut Putin haters up:

A Russian soldier sees a little girl, crying, hungry, and cold. He had their choices: (1) shoot her, (2) leave her, or (3) take her with him to where she would be safe and warm.[/b]

Which of these three choices would make the ICC happy?

The best some in the group were able to say was that Putin was a war criminal because he started the war - thus evading the core subject of the ICC and the arrest warrant that didn't mention the war itself at all. Smart, a-holes,...why give an opening to the "what about Iraq?" counterpunch...

To preempt BS, I told the group that by any definition I was "kidnapped" by Germans in 1944 and forcibly taken to a concentration camp in Hamburg. They saved my life. Should they be prosecuted for it? Again, to be a step ahead of any morons in the group, I said that a crime needs a victim and that I wasn't it. In fact, I would like to send flowers to these Germans.

So much for Putin's war crimes...

You mentioned this before, sounds like an interesting story....

I remember faintly having learned that there existed a program in Nazi-Germany to kidnap children in the occupied countries they deemed fit for Germanization...

Another interesting youtube channel showing what life in russia is really like....

Here's a video about Archangelsk.... where people continue to live in wooden barracks built almost 100 years ago that have been declared 'unfit for habitation'....

This is the price of russkij mir... you live in crumbling shacks while your government steals money from you and you can't do anything about it....

this is how russians want everyone else to live....

History ? I thought that it is vice versa. Strong states control weak... Macedonia against Ancient Greek states, Russian Empire vs. the Commonwealth...

History ? I thought that it is vice versa.

Well....the Ostblock, the former Soviet Empire, was thought strong! Stronger at least than the weak, old-fashioned West....

Believe me, lots of the current arguments I heard before....and they have proven all wrong! Hence yeah, "history showed us"!

Hope that clearifies things for you

Sometimes it is wise leave aside freeloading allies, as the USSR once showed...

Bratwurst Boy
12 Nov 2023  #4170

....na ja....in these times that meant "losing" an ally to the other side, losing a battle in that war, showing weakness, maybe even others getting the wrong ideas....so, no....even "free loading" allies had to be kept, at all costs!

That had been the rules back then...
