Where did you get the photo? How do you know that the letter is genuine? I mention this because of the conditions mentioned for extradition, in particular the first condition.

Also there is no mention of legal aid which should be mentioned in the sentence where they say you need to retain a solicitor or barrister.

That could be a big giveaway regarding the authenticity of the document. The other thing, which caught my attention only after I had posted that photo to PF - is that it is dated to July. The Kiev government only started winding up the extradition machine in the past two weeks, or so.

In general, a letter dated to July, with a court date already in October - seems like a very compressed timetable. You could have some silly commercial dispute in the US, and you would still have at least 6 months to prepare. In this case it's something far more serious, and there's seemingly very little time to prepare a defense.

Yes, but that would be a case for military court martial and it's fairly minor, unless you're on active service for example with the Peacekeeping forces.

But the letter is definitely fake. It should bear the signature of the official and it's missing all the contact details that are usually printed on the bottom of the page.
