Poland`s aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 8

Merkel admitted this publicly

She was trying desperately to salvage something of her "legacy" which has all turned to sh[t since she left office... she shut down nuclear, let in waaaaay too many uneducated, unassimilateable and unemployable migrants to be welfare pets and bet the house on russia..... it's all ashes now, just like Schroeder (isolated old extrovert wanting some attention) I wouldn't take anything she says too seriously.

And the only purpose of Minsk was to allow russia to annex part of a foreign country. The last time Europe enabled that was in Czechoslovakia.... how did that work out?

Why on Earth would a country cooperate in an agreement designed to eventually erase them from the map?

you sure wouldnt want to trade Chicago suburbs for any part of Russia.

Objectively not true. Let the man go to Russia himself and form his own opinions.

Many places in Russia, are more beautiful than anything you can find in your United States - despite having Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Alaska, Guam, etc.

For he who wants to work, and knows how to mind his own business - Russia can be a paradise.

What's the point of Empire, in the end?

It is divine...all other good deeds are just by-products ..

Bobko
1 Dec 2023  #305

It is divine

Not all Empire is divine.

Land-based empires like Russia, Austria-Hungary, the Mongol Empire - can be divine.

Sea-based empires like that of the British, Dutch, and Spanish are a sham, intended to cover for the en masse plunder of wealth.

Says someone who chooses to live in a former British colony in a city founded by the Dutch.

And who makes his living in capitalism which is plunder if nothing else ever has been.

@Bobko
Normally I try to appreciate your thinking and expressions. But Russia has nothing on the west. It has some beautiful architecture, that predates any communist or modern "Russian" influence. Working wise it is a disaster. Isnt that why you left? Money. Russia cannot compete with the west whe it comes to earning potential or comfort in lifestyle. I have been to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, and Kaliningrad. I have visited some smaller communities outside of each city. There is nothing that Russia does better than the west. Thats just the truth. Nuclear energy? Sure, I will give that to Russia. But it only benefits the few. There is no industrial growth inside or out of Russia of any real measure. Military equipment exports are laughable. And the equipment has proven to be below any western standard in Ukraine.

Both sides of this discussion need to start looking at facts. Russia is not losing ground in Ukraine. Ukraine is killing a lot more Russians than Russia is killing Ukraines. Eventually something has to give. Eventually this ends at a table with men talking. All the sentimental bull$hit on either side means nothing.

What is this nonsense... lol Any empire created by humans can't be divine.

Bobko

Says someone

Question was about divinity.

What makes Empire divine?

1) It lifts the individual above the petty national and ethnic framework. As Kostya explained - so long as you serve the interests of the Russian state, you may call yourself Russian. If after this, an ethnic Russian will still call you a half-breed monkey, you have full authority to sock him square in the face.

2) A sovereign Empire, is bigger than its non sovereign constituent pieces.

3) It guarantees security, stability, and respect of the legal order for its subjects.

4) Sort of a reiteration of earlier point, but through trying to minimize the ethnic and religious antagonism inside the empire, the aristocracies that ruled them were often more cosmopolitan and broad-minded than their nationalistic successors.

All the sentimental bull$hit on either side means nothing.

Despite the above... I have to agree with you to stay true to myself.

Bravo! You have gotten straight to the point!

What makes Empire divine?

Nothing.

It is simply one geopolitical approach. Not all empires are (like those of France or America) imbued with some concept of manifest destiny.

Nope Paulina, sometimes empire are so gravitational that shaping the future thousands years ahead. We all are still living in Pax Romana after all...

imbued with some concept of manifest destiny

Are you saying America doesn't or does have a theory of Manifest Destiny?

Novichok
1 Dec 2023  #314

Manifest Destiny was the idea that white Americans were divinely ordained to settle the entire continent of North America. The ideology of Manifest Destiny inspired a variety of measures designed to remove or destroy the native population.

That was what made America great. What will kill America is its messiah complex.

The messiah complex is a mental state in which a person believes they are a prophet and will save or redeem people in a religious endeavour. The term can also refer to a state of mind in which an individual believes that they are responsible for saving or assisting others.

In Novichok English: Mind your own damn business before you do mine.

Bobko

were divinely ordained to settle the entire continent

Thank you, Novi.

At least we're not alone in thinking we have a divine mandate to rule over a certain geography.

Novichok
1 Dec 2023  #316

I will go a step further...

The US and Russia should divide the world into three parts: yours, ours, and nobody gives a fvck, and rule the first two with an iron fist. Pax Russo-Americana...

Do you want Poland?

I want a Nobel Prize for something...

Bobko

It worked that way for 45 years, and many people still alive today say it was the best time to be alive.

Paulina

Nope Paulina

Yes.

Manifest Destiny was the idea that white Americans were divinely ordained to settle the entire continent of North America.

And that was nonsense and bullsh1t.

we're not alone in thinking we have a divine mandate to rule over a certain geography.

You don't have any "divine mandate" to do such thing, delusional psychos (if it's a joke then it's not funny).

It worked that way for 45 years, and many people still alive today say it was the best time to be alive.

It "worked" for you and the Americans and maybe you and Americans miss those times. But we don't.

jon357

That's why I was sad when the USSR fell apart. A magnet with one pole cannot exist. Even our MICC was desperate for what to do...

That gaping hole is still looking for a tenant. With Russia kicking ass, the US warmongers are ecstatic. No need to invent imaginary enemies like Iran, Syria, or ISIS.

Bobko
1 Dec 2023  #321

USSR fell apart.

Russia cannot fulfill the role of the USSR.

We are half the size, and even more hugely diminished in strength.

The things Russia has going for it:

1) It's a market economy, which makes it infinitely more flexible than the USSR in responding to issues.

2) We no longer spend billions of dollars propping up various Nicaraguan and Cuban governments, just to troll the US.

3) We're not breaking our back investing in enough destructive power to erase the US.

4) We don't have to subsidize an entire Warsaw Bloc's worth of Eastern European tag alongs.

This allows us to continue punching above our weight, but for how long?

This is why Ukraine is an important piece.

Some more good news. The CEO of Rheinmetall has stated that the contract for the production of the APC Fuchs and Lynx are expected to be finalized at the end of the year, and that the first vehicle would be finished within 7 months afterwards.
