Let me educate you mr mafketis. Zelensky was elected on a peace platform, of giving more autonomy to the Donbass (ie Federalisation) and allowing Russian to be used officially in Ukraine. Unfortunately the far right descendants of OUN-B, backed by Poroshenko were dead set against it. Also tied to the Ukraine World Congress. They said any deal with Russia over Crimea and Donbass is a betrayal of the Ukrainian fatherland. Despite only getting 5 percent of the vote (20 percent in Lviv) they have people on the streets that are ultras, hooligans , don't mind Hitler. Also lots of weapons and they love violence.

There is video footage of one of the leaders of this far right Ukri faction, that got elected to parliament saying if Zelensky does a peace deal with Russia we will deal with him like a traitor ie hang him from a tree.

There is actual video footage of Zelenskyy going to the Donbass and being humiliated, pleading with the far right volunteer battalions to abide by agreed ceasefire. they just ignored him, after all he's just an actor.

Ukranian World Congress/OUN-B/Poroshenko wanted to go all in, put everything on black, well now they f*cked. Game over. Don't poke the bear. Poland had the western betrayal , now it's Ukraine's turn.

Also what the Yemeni Houthi rebels are doing, pretty much blockaded the whole red sea/suez canal is not just about Gaza, Russia is playing a hidden hand. So now the world shipping trade has to go around the horn of africa, adding 15-20 percent to shipping costs. Expect another inflation crisis. That's what Russia and China want, to break down the western economic order, and the longer this Ukri war goes on, the better chance they have at doing it.

The Americans and Europeans are actually talking about using frozen assets from private russian individuals to fund the war against russia. Who in the 200 countries on Earth is ever going to trust and invest in western capitalism if that ever happens? again game over but in a much worse way.

Giving 'autonomy' to a region that has been invaded by a country that doesn't want your country to exist is an extremely dumb idea....

'federalization' was a way that russia wanted to interfere in Ukraine (because degenerate russians interfere anywhere they can).

Just as Xi Jingping is not able to appeal directly to Californians, in a bid to peal them away from Washington... Biden has not had much success appealing to the inhabitants of the Republic of Tatarstan, or the Khanty-Mansiyskiy Autonomous Okrug.

Treat your people decently, and a federation is no more an invitation to chaos than a coalition government within a parliamentary democracy.

For Ukraine, a federated structure was and is a perfect solution. It lets the people that have closer ties to Russia, develop life in their regions as they see fit, without interference from the nutcases in Lvov.

Imagine that nobody try to ban Polish in Poland. Just required by law to any magazine and newspaper to have authentic ukrainian version, and print exactly the same run. If you sell million polish newspapers, print the same quantity of ukrainian - and it is your problem how much it will cost you and what you will do with resulting crap.

This was one of examples how "russian was never banned".

Hey, we've had to deal with similar cr*p from Lithuanians for years: banning the Polish spelling of names and surnames, constant fighting about bilingual signs in the areas with Polish majority (yes, majority not minority), administrative interference with Polish language teaching etc. etc. Horribly annoying, especially that their minority enjoy full rights in Poland.

But you don't see us invading Lithuania because of that, even though Wojsko Polskie would roll over f*cking Samogitia with much ease. Simply, in the 21st century, there are better and more civilised ways of solving problems than "special military operations", Veli. And if Russia doesn't understand it we will have a horrible war that nobody wants and everybody half-expects to happen. :-/

After NATO provided AFU with a full range Storm Shadow missiles and used their reconnaisance drones to make attack to a Feodosia possible, you can expect many news in a nearest future.
