You said it was anti-war. The reality is that as of right now, the protesters are actually APPEALING to Putin to intervene, and sack the head of the region.
Further, many of the protesters are active participants of the Special Military Operation.
I don't have the energy to explain what is happening in Bashkortostan, in relation to mining, labor conflicts, environmental issues, and beliefs of the local population regarding sacredness of various mounts.
In two words - there are "mounts" in Bashkiria, which are made up of ancient coral reefs. The locals venerate them, even though they are now nominally Muslim. A large local company, owned by an oligarch that doesn't even live in Russia, has completely leveled one of these mounts. In its place remains a toxic waste pool. Now, they want to start excavating another mount.
