Poland's aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 17

Foreign Ministers have zero real authority and cannot bind any nation to anything.

They would not sign something like that without approval from higher ups, thoughs.

People in 1914 were better educated, better behaved, and more moral persons than people now.

Because of natural selection, fewer people were educated. Nowadays, you have plenty of people with a formal education, but if you look at them closely, they are morons.

People in 1914 were better educated, better behaved, and more moral persons than people now.

I've read a lot of social history of many European countries and I can confidently say that you're wrong. However, that's really another thread in itself. I'll just make the point on education as an example. The quality of education for those who had access to it was very mixed and not always that good - and the majority of people were barely educated at all. Literacy levels alone bear that out.

the majority of people were barely educated at all

Correct.

Literacy levels alone bear that out.

Certainly.

The quality of education for those who had access to it was very mixed

Here's where I don't agree.

I look at mathematics work produced by 8th graders then.

I see how people wrote in middle school.

I see that 20 year olds who were in graduate or doctorate programs would blow 90% of the current professorial class out of the water.

The much greater selectivity, led to actually deserving people receiving education, and it yielded much more impressive results.

So... I misspoke when generalizing to such a wide extent, but what I had meant was that educated people back then were more educated than educated people now.

If reviewing the actual policy makers, the top military commanders, parliamentarians, and officer class - you'll see that they put to shame any Ivy League or Oxbridge guy from nowadays.

To pretend they were some kind of medieval brutes is nonsense.

In most of the world a big difference in quality of life and education levels in the last 100 years

In North Nigeria not so much - it's still a feudal society with a Tsar and serfs. There are even some ships from that time in the navy LOL

Culturally it's gone backwards too - hard to think of a famous composer, artist or writer from the last 50 years. Solzhenitsyn maybe the last

They burn the faces of North Korean corpses. Yes that is medieval brutish behavior

all will be fine and very peaceful in Donbass.

Not quite.

Two Massive Explosions in Russia's Far North: Ukrainians Attack Almost 2,000km Behind Putin's Lines: 'Houses Were Rocking'
A recording of an explosion that likely occurred near the Russian Navy's Northern Fleet base in Severomorsk, Murmansk Oblast, has appeared online. Military analysts suspect a large-scale detonation of ammunition. Severomorsk is about 1,900 km from the Ukrainian border. Ukrainian drones have not yet penetrated that far into Russian territory.

He was right about 'better educated' (those who got any education that is), partly right about 'better behaved', and wrong about 'more moral'. That's 50% right - not bad. ;)

Ireland - a Social and Cultural History by Terence Brown is a good book, but all one has to do is read Jules Verne's P'tit-Bonhomme not to ever want to go back to those 'more moral' times.

hard to think of a famous composer, artist or writer from the last 50 years

Aaahh, Cms displaying his general lack of education as usual. Good to see some things don't change. Admit at least, I implore you, that Russians had a certain degree of modest succes in exact sciences and engineering!

In America, we coined a special term for guys like cms...We call them morons.

BTW, are you an LGBT supporter? I mean mainly T. The other three are annoying but harmless if you are normal and don't get too close.

I am asking because I don't have anybody to argue with here so I am desperate for a trans freak or at least trans supporter.

You're just trolling,

I am so proud of the US. Here is why:

The report of Yusif's elimination comes a few days after the US also eliminated 12 other ISIS terrorists in Syria via precision strikes, with CENTCOM saying that these strikes are to ""disrupt, degrade, and defeat ISIS, preventing the terrorist group from conducting external operations and to ensure that ISIS does not seek opportunities to reconstitute in central Syria."

So why is Z and his buddies still alive?

West has pumped over $300 billion into Ukraine - Orban
The money spent to fund the war could have "done wonders" in the EU, the Hungarian PM has argued

A question for "wars are good for the economy" morons:

What did the West get from that investment besides 500,000 dead Ukrainians and bonuses for the US MICC CEOs?

@ Novichok

Security, russia will not decide to attack any Western country after the lesson it has learned.

The west also got a real time test of their conventional weapons - some don't work, some need improving but generally very effective and show that w cb live without Lockheed Martin if necessary

None of that money came from Hungarian taxpayers so I don't know what Orban is complaining about

We are still waiting for the names of 3 North Nigerians at the top of their field since 1991 - authors, composers, painters. I guess the man with the most impact is Sergei brin but he had already emigrated

There are plenty of drug using athletes and even a few clean ones

Footballers - terrible, I can think only of Arshavin but he never really fulfilled his potential

Possible with a weak leader like Trump coming - but Assads removal is an important step. It makes it much harder for Putler to interfere in Africa and the ME

In the incoming and imminent massive conflict Russia even don`t need to use nukes. Russia`s hyper-sonic missiles are equally devastating but are more `ecological`. And unstoppable.

Its clear that Russia keeps nukes for the ultimate respond where nukes won`t be used one after one. No, it does not suits Russia. If come to nukes Russia would use them all at once, by the doctrine- no Russia, no world. Only this way Russia secure nukes function as the deterrent and real threat. That way, no foe dare to use nuke on Russia.

So, when conflict escalate, Russia would simple annihilate nuclear silos, entire cities and states of its foes, solely with its conventional hyper-sonic missiles. Over shared responsibility in NATO membership, all there are legitimate targets.

cms neuf
21 Dec 2024  #891

Rubbish - those hypersonic missiles probably don't work

Crow
21 Dec 2024  #892

But they work. Russia used them to show they work so all the world sow.

Only morons don`t see what coming when massive conflict starts. It would be hi-tech remote annihilation. Where Russia have defense from best of NATO missile weaponry, while NATO don`t have any answer on Russia`s hyper-sonics.

cms neuf
21 Dec 2024  #893

They can't even defend Moscow from home made Ukrainian drones. North Nigeria has no realistic air defenses and no way of getting them now because of sanctions

Crow
21 Dec 2024  #894

Drones are problem for all the world armies. Strength and weakness. But, with hyper-sonic missiles Russia have Earth coverage and bombing superiority. No nuclear silo, no drone factory, no command or political center can defend from it.

So, ultimately, Russia have respond even for the drones. Even for nukes. When things escalate. NATO don`t have such a respond. Nor on drones, nor on hyper-sonics.

I had meant was that educated people back then were more educated than educated people now.

That is exactly my conclusion.

but Assads removal is an important step

On the other hand, Russia doesn't have to divide resources on many fronts - that is not that good. I would apply constant pressure on Russian interests around the world including Syria but not too much, not to break them completely. I'm not sure it was a good move.

Crow
21 Dec 2024  #896

Plus, the WW2 peace charters makes Russia`s Special Military Operations in Ukraine legitimate. Were nazis in Ukraine? Did they come to power or influence government? They did.

So?

Russia acted in accordance of WW2 peace charters. Legitimate.

See, this puts NATO and EU on the side of nazis. So all what will happen in the future, their devastation by Russia, also would be legitimate.

I look at mathematics work produced by 8th graders then.

Are you referring specifically to the USA? You can't just look at one education system - and certainly America is a poor example for many reasons.

However, if you look at education in very general terms, the reason for higher standards at an earlier age was precisely because people left school while they were still very young and you needed to have pretty much everything you would ever learn in place by the age of fourteen at the latest.

There was also a completely different system of training for many professions which meant that your education might continue through an apprenticeship or something of that kind. So if you were going to be an engineer for example, you need enough maths to go into a firm of engineers and fill a junior role.

However, I agree that the standards at third level everywhere have dipped woefully, actually partly because too many professions have abandoned the vocational/apprenticeship system and been turned into degrees.

Why I hate PF Polaks...

One of these morons just said that 500,000 dead Ukrainians made him feel secure. It never occurred to this mother fvcker that while Ukraine is bleeding, he and others who feel that way could join the UA and defeat Russia once and for all - the task made easy with "Russia on its last legs".

Instead, Polish slime along with other "Russia is a threat" Western imbeciles are just standing by witnessing as Ukraine is dying - from 40 million down to less than 20 in 3 years - irreversibly and forever.

Somehow, the idiot didn't mention the fact Russia, voluntarily and without a shot fired, let the Baltics go. To that moron, today, Russia's desire is to own what it released not so long ago - including Poland, the country at the top of Russia hate list.

With the US paying and Ukraine dying, Polaks, instead of just keeping their mouth shut, play that sick go go cheering game.

As stupid as it to be the world's dumbest cop, to its credit, the US sends its own to die for "freedom and democracy" or to find Saddam's WMDs.

Hey, Imoron, any English errors in this one?
