The only decent things that Obama did was cut back on a lot of the Israel ass kissing and AIPAC clout. Nonetheless, he still gave Israel tens of billions of dollars in 'aid' - more than the US gives to any other country and more than it gives to the ENTIRE African continent. It should be zero all around imo, but to send tens of billions to a wealthy country is just ridiculous. And this has been going on for decades and when Rabbi Dov Zakheim was pentagon comptroller some 2 TRILLION yes TRILLION vanished under his watch - presumably much of ti going to Israel in addition to the fighter jets he sold for literally scrap prices. Meanwhile, US had to pull spare parts in some cases from freaken museums at one point.
Another thing he did that was good is treat Iran pretty fair. The republicans and much of the dems have an irrational hatred of Iran. They don't even know why they really hate Iran. Theyre simply told to hate them because Israel hates Iran and therefore America must also. The fact is though Iranians and Shia have never committed a terrorist attack on US soil - all the highjackers on 9/11, all the terrorists blwoing people up, shooting up clubs and cafes, etc are basically all Sunnis and its the same in Europe. Also, the whole line that Trump pushes where Obama send plane loads of money to Iran.... well he leaves out the detail that it was their money to begin with and they wanted a withdrawal.... much like a person going to the bank to pull some money out, only difference is its a whole country hence much larger amounts...
I'm 50/50 with Obamacare. On one hand it did provide insurance for people who had previous conditions and were otherwise unable to get insurance - especially small business owners. If some guy say runs a small flower shop or say a small plumbing company or whatever, he and his wife were screwed with insurance. Either it'd be unaffordable or theyd get rejected for preexisting conditions or charged so much because of their history where it just wasn't even a reasonable amount. Now Obamacare is expensive and the insurance options aren't that great and limit what doctors you can see but at least it's something. Healthcare is expensive asf in the US so there was no way Obamacare was ever going to be cheap.
It's so stupid to left their votes behind for the lefties to gobble up...@ Bratwurst Boy
That's precisely why I think that its pretty ridiculous for Trump and much of the republicans to go after Hispanics. Most Hispanics, especially Mexicans are socially conservative and Catholic. A lot of them even believe that the US border should be strengthened and illegals should be deported. They have the same policies in Mexico - their border with Guatemala makes ours like look a joke.
But nonetheless the only latino group that consistently votes republican/conservative are Cubans. Trump did capture a lot of the Hispanic votes but not nearly as many as he could. If I were a Mexican and totally supported Trump's policies I'd be turned away due to some of his comments about Mexicans. The fact is the US needs Mexicans - but ones to come in LEGALLY. Mexicans do all the work that white Americans don't want to do anymore because its hard and doesn't pay well while blacks don't work those type of jobs and if they do its with unions. All the low paying hard labor jobs are filled with Latinos - agriculture, warehouse work, fast food, construction, washing dishes, etc. Some redneck types talk about how Mexicans steal our jobs but that's the furthest thing from the truth. They're filling the jobs that no one wants to take. You will never find some white or black dude that will work 10 hours a day for maybe $10 an hour with no benefits and be in a field under the hot sun, or tarring a road or putting shingles on a roof where it gets so hot that some people faint, washing dishes, cooking fast food, etc. You go to a dairy farm or citrus farms and it's all Mexican laborers. No white dude even with a high school education would take such a job.
My view may be skewed because I've lived around latinos namely Mexicans my whole life and our construction company employs quite a few. The hardest thing in construction is to find hard working skilled and responsible people. It's extremely hard. Some of the white and black American guys are skilled but generally its only in one thing like they can do all sorts of carpentry but be totally clueless about electrical and therefore they cant do something relatively simple as installing a few electrical outlets. Also they demand benefits, will cry if they have to work past the 8 hours mark and a lot of them are people who regularly go in and out of prison and a lot of them are into hard drugs. One of the black guys we hired served 20 years for murder. He was a great employee and very reliable and skilled but unfortunately left for us for a job with benefits. He works for like some school cafeteria company which is kind of mind boggling how they would hire a guy convicted of murder to work in a public grade school. The Polish guys use to dominate the trade but now most of them are older and retiring. Very few in the younger generation continued in the previous generations' footsteps. And the ones that did are very skilled and reliable but most run their own crews so they're not going to take some $200+ cash a day offer from us when they're earning way more running their own people. That leaves just the Latinos and other Mexicans... Now those dudes have it all - they're skilled at a bunch of different things they can do anything from windows to drywall to porches although some of the more skilled plumbing and electrical many can't do but still compared to the others they knew way more. They're also inexpensive and charge way less so they're great to hire as not only workers but subcontrators too. The only problem though is many aren't reliable. They'll do amazing work, do it super quick with zero complaints, zero **** ups and then they get paid and vanish. They go party for a week then they call back up and say hey when's the next job? That's the only problem with them...
