Hillary spoke about these altruistic acts as if they precluded her foundation from engaging in corrupt acts.

Ambassador Stevens went to Benghazi to get back the US made Stinger missiles supplied to Ansar al Sharia without Congressional approval or permission.
Crooked Hillary did the 'Covert' and illegal deal with Stevens and a private arms dealer named Marc Turi.
Some of the shoulder fired missles ended up in Afghanistan used against our US military.
In July of 2012 one of our helicopters was shot down by one of those Stinger missiles but the ignorant Taliban didn't know how to arm it to explode.

A U.S. Ordinance team recovered the serial numbers off the missile led back to the Stingers that the C.I.A. had back in Qatar.

This put Obama and Crooked Hillary in full panic mode so they sent Stevens to Benghazi to get them back before they could be exposed.

This was a do or die mission which explains the "stand down order" that was given to several commando teams in the area to go save Ambassador Stevens and his team.
