What I think?

I think that are hands of Serbian (not only Serbian) foes very long. One just needs to understand how Serbs facing assault by joint force of Vatican, Germany, Austria, Italy, Saudis, Iran, Turkey, France and Britain. When one understand who is against Serbs, he more easily understand how was possible to mobilize such a massive media attack on Serbs in order to justify action against Serbs.

But, Polish people like Jan Lopuzanski of ultra right wing Polish Catholics understood perfectly what is in the game. That is why Lopuzanski said in Polish parliament, back in 1999, how ``NATO will one day attack Poles, same as attacking Serbs today.``

This is apparantly good news for those who wish to see the wounds of the Balkan wars be healed.

It's hard to say, to be honest. Milanović stirred enough of the pot when he was PM, while President Grabar-Kitarović stayed largely out of minor squabbles in the Balkans.

It's sure that he will reorientate Croatian foreign policy back towards Germany and away from the US, and certainly Grabar-Kitarović's enthusiasm for the Three Seas Initiative won't be replicated by Milanović.

Duda must certainly be looking at this result with dismay, because she was a strong ally in the pro-US orientation of Duda and PiS.

That she defended war criminal Slobodan Praljak is hardly doing herself any favours.

Yup, she was pretty much following the US policy there of leaving it for the locals to sort out, particularly in Bosnia. I think it's what partially cost her this election, as she was nowhere near as popular among the diaspora as you'd expect from a HDZ politician.

She was a typical HDZ politician internally, but her foreign policy was sane and sensible. There was a good example with a dreadfully polluting oil refinery in northern Bosnia in Brod, next to the Croatian town of Slavonski Brod. She managed to convince the Russians that they wanted to convert the refinery into one processing gas, even though they were already losing money on it.

About the defence of Praljak and so on, yup, she made several blunders like that. The worst one in this campaign was the open support of Bandić, the mayor of Zagreb.

Since you are better informed than me there is little sense arguing against your informed opinion. But from what I have read, she was also in favour of disrespecting the international ruling regarding the Slovenian-Croatian border, which caused a lot of consternation across Europe. That qualifies as a squabble in the Balkans for me.

In fairness, it was proven a few weeks ago that Croatia's accusations were right over the border issue. But, if I remember rightly, one thing that the Slovenians said was that she had kept working with them on the issue, even after the withdrawal from the arbitration process - so a rare example of Balkan sanity.

It's probably going to be the case that Milanović will be better for Croatia internally (the HDZ are really just the epitome of corruption, always have been), but I'm not convinced by his foreign policy skills.

Either way, Duda has to be worried, as it proves that nationalism won't win the election.

Are there some developments I am unaware of? The last thing I remember was that Croatia took a minor infriction as a pretext to deny the whole ruling against the advice of the EU.

It actually went above my weekend house, following the Danube river in direction of the Novi Sad city. I got impression I can tackle it with my hand. Neighbor was some old Hungarian guy. I asked him should we move to basement but he was calm and just said how is much better to stay out, how is much better to died in an instant then be buried alive. I agreed. So we drank out on the grass and in a vineyard, with NATO Tomahawk missiles above our heads, listening radio, feeling how country sinking deeper in stone age with every NATO bomb. That day bridge was hit and refinery. Bridge was pretty close to my apartment. So, yes, they could kill me twice that day.

In the end, you always reap what you sow.

If you coming to Serbia give some time to yourself and go visit Lepenski Vir. It is nicely organized for tourists that coming from round the globe. I was there and almost cried on archeological site. It is place or one of places along that part of the Danube where European civilization was born. Come, visit your ancestral ground. You know, when civilization here was born glacial ice still covered rest of Europe. Genetic findings confirming Serbian genetic connection to the site and actually connection of all Europeans to the site. It goes in circles from here.

First of all, my comment was in response to that braindead troll who wished another member of this forum to have been killed? Not to mention who celebrated that even children were murdered by indescriminate NATO bombs. Where was your condemnation of that? We may or may not see eye to eye on certain issues, we can agree or disagree about certain things, but some level of decency and humility should be maintained. Second of all, you are not a qualified person to determine who is mentally ill and who isn't.

Thirdly, as for your dog, Poland is a country with rules and regulations, and if you fail to have him properly restrained on a leash then the Polish authorities may have to take him away from you.
