Doesn't matter how you put it ... Christians vs. non-Christians, conservatives vs. liberals, red states vs. blue states ... the outcome will be the same. The end of the USA as we know it. I bet $5,- on a split-up of the country. West and east coast plus a few other states will form a prosperous union with Canada while the red states will turn into third world sh*itholes (if they haven't already) and merge with Mexico. :)

I think that is called "regionalization"....contrary to the long ongoing globalization and it's consequence the "unification"....

That could be happen longterm to Germany and the EU as a whole too. But I doubt that the borders will be so crassly drawn though, it would be bad for all around. I also doubt that in one region a stable wealth will be enjoyed freely and happily by all whereas the other region will sink back into "doom and darkness".

That is rather wishful thinking by those who don't like the others preference...

Both kind of regions will find their ways to work and to exist beside each other...people will decide with their feet. It will be rather a choice of preference where they want to live...it could be an enrichment to have that choice.

Right now the fight is so bitter and hateful because one "preference" fears to be ruled the those "others", against their own will and well, preferences. Regionalization could be an answer to that...at least culturally!

To accept regionalization though means also to accept the end of the nation state as we know it...

It will never work as long as the regions do not have real borders. Texas, a safe Republican "region" is becoming California because the Californians, after wrecking their state, move to the less spoiled Texas and now wreck Texas. The same thing happened to Nevada, which is now California and Mexico. Europe was a separate region from the sh*tland called Africa, and, then, Africans discovered Europe. Took them a while because of their lower ID, but discovered they did. End of Europe. If not yet, soon.

But I could imagine that future huge metropolis' like New York or San Francisco or London etc. start to govern themselves. More than they already do...no matter who officially leads the country....
