Normal people wouldn't. The whole point of the movie was that when a mentally unstable person is driven even more over the edge than he already is, this is when stuff happens such as the now (in-)famous scene in the Whammyburger.
Well-adjusted folks don't take matters into their own hands over such petty silliness, people.
We're not talking about hospital intransigence or the like when somebody's life is at stake and when care is being stymied by paper work. Sure, in that instance, yours truly too would probably go off the deep end, at least temporarily, but the latter example is only a one-in-a-million incident.
