It is just another maneuver by the drive by media, at the taxpayers expense, for a free campaign ploy to publicize all of Trumps dirt to discredit him.

Sure you understood what I posted? Sometimes when the antecedent in a sentence isn't clear, as in mine, it can be confusing to a person who's first language isn't English:-)

We have different definitions of "assimilated". To me, an assimilated person feels and identifies himself exactly the same way as the natives. Knowing the language, or even being fluent in it, is not enough. An article that includes "Poles and Jews" says it all about how unassimilated the Jews living in Poland were.

"Assimilated" in my lexicon refers to those Jews are nominally aka "culturally" Jewish, but who may eat traif, cut deals on the Sabbath and consider themselves part of the national body rather than simply as "Jews" as in the difference between Jewish Poles vs. Polish Jews.

In the US, someone born here of foreign parentage is automatically a US citizen, "Jewish" being their religion instead of their ethnicity or nationality.

Neither term is in use. It's always Poles and Jews as two separate nations. Like in Poles and Russians.

We all know that there was indded a Jewish problem in pre war Poland with many unassimilted Jews.
But the large numbers of Polish soldiers in both world wars that were of Jewish descent kind of counters that argument.
Many Jews did assimilate, mainly those living in cities and not little countryside ghettos.

And yet the highly assimilated Polish-born Jews such as Julian Tuwim, Tadeusz Rozewicz, Roman Polanski etc. always considered their nationality "Polish" and themselves "Polacy z krwi i kosci"!
