You don't know that. It's not a regular occurrence. There are about 800,000 cops in the US who respond to millions upon millions of service calls per year. The incidents of the type in Minneapolis are few and far between. If you listen to popular media, you may think it happens at least 1,000 times a day, but if you confer objective data, it's a different story.

On average those requirements entail 2100 hours of classroom, tactical, and physical fitness training during academy training, then another 500 hours of field officer training once a new cop graduates from academy.


It's largely working here too. De-escalation is stressed in just about every law enforcement agency in America..

To be fair, American cops have a pretty stressful job. All police officers have to be careful, but in a country everybody can own a gun, I can only imagine how stessful a normal routine controle must be.
