the college and white-collar crowd voted for Obama, subsequently for Biden.
You make it sound like college educated didn't vote for Trump, which is statistically not true.
When Trump ran against Clinton, he received 43% support from the college educated--that's nowhere near not having college-educated support. In 2020, it dipped some, but still hardly an indication that Trump didn't receive a good number of college educated votes. This idea that Trump appealed to slack-jawed morons is a fallacy.
Besides, college-educated or non-college-educated doesn't distinguish between the intelligent and the dumb asses. College standards have become grossly compromised to the point that a college degree doesn't necessitate a well-schooled human being--and it sure as hell doesn't mean the degreed have much wisdom.
Also, the non-college educated know just as well what is best for them as does the college educated. Give me plumber who has common sense and wisdom over a degreed specialist who can tell you all about how flies reproduce but can barely tie his own shoes.
When I was in college, I found it distressing how many of my classmates were uncurious feelers instead of curious thinkers. it seems college is more vocational, than educational nowadays. The majority couldn't think critically to save their lives--they just wanted to validate their feelings and receive their parchment to get a job. A conversation with my 9th-grade-educated postal worker grandfather imparted more wisdom in 15 minutes, than a month in my college classroom.
Anyhow, this should probably be over in the random or USA thread.
