So, you think the Supreme Commander of Allied forces who then served as US President didn't have hard proof of the MIC?

Bratwurst Boy

Just follow the established pattern.

No...that is not a conspiracy....it's similiar everywhere....it's called "swamp" I believe :)

So, you think the Supreme Commander of Allied forces who then served as US President didn't have hard proof of the MIC?

No, he didn't had any....alot people back then also believed in euthanasia and race policies...and also many were no less anti-semitic than the Germans back then...it was just the Zeitgeist!

Politicians are not flawless....saying and believing such things doesn't make them true nonetheles!

So give us the proof and show us all that you are not just sprouting BS.

That is what these daft conspiracy theories lack.

Because there is no conspiracy in the classical sense.

The swamp is too smart for that B-movie grade crap. It's a wink-wink method and - and this is the best part - everything is LEGAL! The prez sending the first battalion is legal. Congress voting support for the idiot is legal. Congress voting big bucks "to support our troops" is legal, Pentagon cheerfully spending the big bucks Congress happily approved is legal, and hiring those who voted for the whole damn thing is legal.

Where do they need "conspiracy"? What are you, guys? K-graders?

The stupid ones get caught saying, hey, I will get you this if you get me that. See: Blago.

Now that's more like it....

But, maf is saying the MIC is in the middle of this. Personally, I disagree that Afghanistan was a MIC thing, I think it was strictly geo-political.

@Miloslaw

Of course, they are hard to prove; that's there nature. It's like fraud, it never comes out and introduces itself-it is meant to be kept hidden.

I'm not big into conspiracy theories, but I know for certain they do exist. Sometimes they are uncovered (Russian Collusion), sometimes they aren't, and sometimes, if not most of the time, they are wrong.

I say be careful of them, but don't dismiss them as nutjobber out of hand.

Bratwurst Boy

but I know for certain they do exist.

The theories or the conspiracies??? :)

Novichok
31 Aug 2021  #1808

I disagree that Afghanistan was a MIC thing,

The beginning was "let's do something" combined with the messiah complex, and a ton of machismo among the low-IQ populace. Continuing for another 19 years was MIC combined with "that would make our sacrifices be in vain" and "we are winning so we can't stop now". Occasional crying little girls in the evening news to keep the parents (here, in the US) proud and the show rolling.

AntV

Conspiracies. The US courts do not have a shortage of conspiracy cases. Popularly and recently, The Russian Collusion conspiracy has been well documented.

When it comes to the MIC , I agree with Eisenhower that it's about defense contractors looking to gain undue influence. Look at who hired retired Generals and Penatagon officials, it's Raytheon and those types of companies. They do this not because of their expertise in designing defense systems, but their contacts within the DoD. It's about procurement.

I agree with Eisenhower that it's about defense contractors looking to gain undue influence.

I would agree with that part too...they are company owners....they want to make profits....they are businesspeople!

Of course they look for the trades where they can gain most from...but that's hardly a conspiracy.

The german arms industry has earned themselves barrels of gold for decades. It was part of WW1 and WWII to destroy that possibility of Germany to produce some of the finest and best and advanced military technology in existence...and yet they rose again and started producing and selling again (at least in West Germany).

Where is the conspiracy in that? Do you think they made Hitler Chancellor? And they made him go to war to earn more contracts? And they somehow still couldn't stop the other western MIC members from totally obliterating them?

Of course, the armament industry lives off conflicts....but every state needs an army, also in peace times...and they need weapons...during a conflict just more of them...the gov gives out contracts for the company leaders and pays them for their products.....that's all. But they don't have that kind of influence to make wars! They are not politicians...

No, moron. Medals for getting shot are participation trophies.

You are f*cked in the head Commie.

I have no obligation to accept it

Your obligations are meaningless, moron.

I don't accept that bullsh*it

Again, nobody cares what you accept or don't accept idiot.
Your personal opinions certainly don't carry any weight.
You are merely a cracked Commie loudmouth with mental issues.

31 Aug 2021  #1812

Where is the conspiracy in that?

Again. There is no conspiracy. It's a "I roll your log and you roll mine" between the "democratically elected" wh*res who need money to get re-elected and the contractors who can supply that money - if the "democratically elected" wh*res behave.

The criminality of this sick arrangement is when the wh*res vote to buy the things even the US military says they don't need. This is where a Chinese firing squad could be useful.

You are f*cked in the head Commie.

Fu*ck off.

Maybe there is a misunderstanding in the wording...

In Germany, we call influential interest-groups which try to convince politicians of their agendas and products: Lobbyists! (We have no german word for that:)

As in they are lobbying for their cases....it's frowned upon but not forbidden. An example for that has been in the past the most powerful cigarette-lobby and actual the sugar-lobby...which work hard to avoid stronger health laws, higher taxes, regulations of any kind etc.

That surely happens also with arms-companies....but again...that's hardly a conspiracy...not to mention these companies are rivals too!

PS: If a politician is found out that he has taken bribes from a lobbyist he is done for and can take his hat...

Novichok
31 Aug 2021  #1814

he has taken bribes from a lobbyist he is done for

We are bigger and better...Our "democratically elected" wh*ores (DEWs) don't take bribes. It's such an ugly word...They accept campaign contributions and future employment for themselves and their very able and talented families.

Bratwurst Boy
31 Aug 2021  #1815

There is a case being made FOR it....

Being a politician isn't a life job....their time in the spotlight is democratically limited...so it is allowed to look for connections and jobs afterwards....but there is a fine line between being bribed and manipulated DURING the job and using build contacts for AFTER the job.

Remember Schröder? He was the main proponent of the Northstream pipeline, he became known for having some kind of bromance with Putin....as he after his political career got offered that plushy job at Gazprom made alot of brows rise very high up. His political image tanked and alot of his decisions as Chancellor were now cast in doubt. But to find proof of such corruption is actually a job for specialists...politicians are continously watched for somthing like that...

(In the case of Schröder they didn't find anything...still it is a stain in his standing in Germany to this day)

You still have elections, don't you? :)

Novichok
31 Aug 2021  #1818

Yes, we do, and so did the Soviet Union with its 99% of voter approval rates.

Now - please sit down since I don't want you to get hurt - our retention rate among the slime that runs to get re-elected is - drum roll - 96.5%! That's in the nation where people disagree if it's Monday and pray to ten different gods. Nowhere are the Americans as united as in their admiration of the current slime. See: Rostenkowski.

That was just very crude sarcasm I couldn't resist.

Maybe there is a misunderstanding in the wording...

No, not a misunderstanding, I wasn't very clear.

The MIC isn't a conspiracy. It is a reality, though, and very prone to grift.

My point about conspiracy theories is that they aren't always wrong. You don't have to look any further than the recent Russian Collusion Hoax, which many derided as a kook conspiracy theory, for proof every now-and-again conspiracy theories prove to be true.

..but there is a fine line between being bribed and manipulated DURING the job and using build contacts for AFTER the job.

But, the problem is that while on the job these high-level DoD guys (many Generals) are doing things with an eye towards a big payday once they retire or quit the DoD.

So, it's not always about the best contract for the best product, but about the best future opportunity for the guy making the decisions.

.I wonder what job she will be offered later...

Well, the book deal she'll get will bring in some bank. If she's still got some ambition, she'll get a seat on the Gates Foundation Board. Just keep her the hell away from anything to do with Aldi's, I don't need her screwing up my go-to grocery store.

those crazy theories.

What crazy theories are we talking about? The MIC is pretty well documented. Google "blackwater" and "iraq" or "Afghanistan" "military contractors"...

Where did two trillion dollars go in Afghanistan? What is there to show for it?

And "conspiracy theory" is rapidly transforming in meaning from "things only crazy people believe" to "ahead of the curve". the world at this moment resembles 'conspiracy theories' of ten years ago to an astonishing degree.... can you explain that?

No, he is thinking...how to justify his resignation. All these choices...
In the meantime, I would be sending my food and drinks to the FBI for analysis.

From dailymail.com:

Biden's national security adviser Jake Sullivan refuses to call Taliban 'the enemy' and says 'it's hard to put a label on it'

Which means it was a pretend war since wars require enemies - no enemy, no war, only blue and red exercises.

Later in the interview, Mr. Sullivan opined that those who volunteered and died fighting their imaginary "enemies", were misguided dupes.
