See military medals for heroism
Great, a shiny piece of metal - the hardest one to get, the Medal of Honor, entitles you to about $2k a month, priority parking, and a preferential treatment in the medical cluster **** known as the VA.
Basically, you get less from the government than a minority claiming long term disability - and that's the hero cream of the crop...
I know Johnny, it's sad but it's the truth. The US treats soldiers worse than life long welfare leeches. I feel for the people who signed up, went through the military and get chewed up and spit back out and ultimately realize what a waste it was - hopefully at least they came out physically and psychologically well enough to enjoy the pension at the end and don't end up putting a bullet in their brain or homeless like so many other veterans do.
But I can't stand the idiots to defend this system and truly believe that these people are somehow getting injured and killed defending "our freedoms" against some goat herders thousands of miles away. No, they are ultimately pawns of corporate and political interests. The sooner the masses and especially those in uniform realize it the sooner the system can be reformed instead of wasting time creating medical exemptions for transexuals and engineering flight suits for pregnant women.
Commie
Speaking of commies, even the Soviet military leadership realized the dozens of Lenin Orders and Hero of the People medals and badges were all an empty façade. Now they sell them online for a couple hundred bucks to help pay the heating bills in the winter.
