Exact 29 years back I with my 2 kids were in Chopin airport were sitting at the LOT departure gate with boarding passes for our flight at 3.45,when they had only 1 terminal.we waiting till 9 PM all the time being told flight is delayed,I tried calling wife to inform her that flight will be delayed but no calls were going through and so was she as we call before we board.,at 9 pm we were told a plane crashed in WTC,we all sat waiting thinking a cessna pilot on his first solo or anyone else not paying attention had crashed his little air maluch/cessna and the us govt is just too cautious.LOT offered hotels to people who didnt have a place in Warsaw(lol of course I opted for a hotel) and we were sent to sheraton and given 2 rooms there.As I checked in and went to the room and put on the TV we were glued to it including my 6 & 9yo then in our rooms.It was before the food service called us for last call for dinner I think at 11.I went to kids room and had food.We stayed in hotel for 7 days with free breakfast/lunch/dinner and I get a call from Lot and we were all upgraded free to business class.On arrival the EWR airport was like a war zone.All marines with there guns walking around,it was not the airport we left just 6 weeks back when one couldnt find a seat in a restaurant and there it was all empty more security people then passengers,Driving back home we had never seen so many US flags in our life everywhere,my daughter then 6 still remembers she counted over 150 flags on cars was very strange atmosphere.

Was a sad day and infact today even more sad as 20 years later Taliban comes back stronger and forms its govt today( 9/11/2021}and we have thousands Americans dead and handicapped for nothing after spending over 2 trill $.Nice job Joe.
