I went grocery shopping this morning, No fresh chicken of any kind, very little fresh beef of any kind, lots of pork and turkey, very little to choose from in in fresh or frozen vegetables, canned foods are sparce on the popular items, and people are having meltdowns yelling at the people who are stocking the shelves. lol

And I of course have the pleasure to say to them, "Hey, you voted for obama twice who claimed we could spend our way out of a recession by printing money out of thin air and now you are feeling the trickle down effect from it AND it has just started.......maybe you will listen if there is a next time in your life time.

Now you voted for 'bite me' who said he would not raise your taxes. well what do you think of these 25% food hike in prices and 40% hike in gas prices ?"

I am surprised by your negativity, Joker. Empty shelves are what the most obese country, the US, so desperately needs. How else can you drop 150 pounds down to the more normal 250?

Let me just say it is very weird to be in Poland looking at pictures of empty shelves in the US (I can remember when that situation was reversed and pictures of empty shelves during communism were contrasted with the plenty of American supermarkets....).

One of my duties at the church is to go to the Manna Project and pick up cases of food to distribute to the poor.

Of course there is no chicken, fish or meat right now to be donated to Manna because of the shortages so we have none to distribute free to the people that can't find a job.

When they come to our church food pantry they refuse the canned food, frozen vegetables, potatoes, and onions.
They want the cookies, chips, chicken wings, frozen pizza's, hot pockets, and steaks.
And they have meltdowns threatening to go to another church for the junk foods.
I was removed from handing out the free bags of food when some of 'Chubbies' were ranting about not having any of the "good stuff" anymore.

I piped up and said, "you can get those things with your free welfare food stamps at the big box stores.
Evidently, I 'offended' them.


By getting a j.o.b and practicing "self-discipline" in your eating habits.
And the best part, Rich, this Depression (Wake Up Call) has just started and going to get a lot worse for them.

I see the same things going on at my church. It infuriates me. You have people driving up in brand new cars, granted not super expensive marks but even a new Camry or Jetta is well over $30k, asking for handouts. They can afford a new car but not food? This is why I am so selective over generosity because people just take advantage of it. It's also people like that that make it more difficult for the truly needy to get help.

When I was in college I think it was either $200 or $300 a month for food. Not too bad for just 1 person. If it's a woman with her kid it was like $500

A while back I heard a statistic that stated a third of americans are on government assistance of some kind.

In 2020, a total of $9.88 trillion was spent on welfare programs in America.
My educated guess is that over half of that is fraud to undeserving participants.

We have the same problem in Poland - PiS is also wasting money in similar ways. Of course, numbers are different but the principle remains the same. Those Polish rightists are bolsheviks when it comes to economy.
