I think to any reasonable person this smacks of "banana republic".

If Putin or Xi showed up at the G7 or UN General Assembly, with their daughters - and forced other heads of state to interact with them - the NYTimes and WaPo would ridicule them to death.

Lets remember the most important thing, that this was Bidens A-game! This was to be his best performance! This is the well rested and prepared Biden. He hasnt done a single presidential thing in over a week as his team of 16 experts have been preparing him in mock staged debates. The Biden we witnessed tonight was the best Biden, the most effective that Biden can be.

Can you imagine if our nation has a real emergency? Its not an impossibility since the border has been wide open under his term. He is in no shape for the challenge and unfit for office!

Are you aware that the US is sending an average of 60 million in CASH, on a plane every month to the Taliban? This to pay settlements to the family members that the US killed while over there, and to fund the Taliban fighting ISIS. 60 Million per month in Cash. That money should be going to Americans. Investments in the middle east and Ukraine are not investments in business for the US. They are terrible wastes of money that could be used to solve Americas problems. The US is not the worlds police force or the world bank. The flow of money needs to be redirected to the American people.

It was a debate with no winners (trumpet lied consistently and performed poorly too) however one of them very much lost. Although trumpet was as usual incoherent, he is at least an experienced TV performer and President Biden did so badly that he managed to make him sound almost sane.

It was an unwatchable debate between an old man who couldn't finish a sentence and an old man who couldn't tell the truth. At one point, trumpet started ranting about golf, and instead of ignoring it to show him up, President Biden actually responded!

One reliable commentator described it as "the last gasp of an ailing republic"

...everybody who has grandparents can only feel for Biden. People his age shouldn't have to go through that kind of humiliation!

But WHY have the Democrats nominated Biden in the first place? This age problem was known...

Biden was abysmal.

If Trump's strategy was what I think it was: to show Biden's incompetency, feebleness, and failure, then mission accomplished...in spades.

Trump was his usual blustery self. He didn't give much detailed policy answers, but I disagree with Jon that he was incoherent. He was coherent, just short on substantive answers; but, I think his strategy . was to show Biden is a wreck. That was shown last night.

Who knows what tricks the dems have up their sleeves, so I'm not like some others who think a Trump victory is sealed. But, last night, the needle wasn't pushed toward Biden.

Biden has always been a study in how effective bull$hit and shameless unbridled ambitious lust for power can hide deep mediocrity. He's always wanted to be President. He has humiliated himself all throughout his career, he just doesn't have his old zest to effectively cover it with a grin and pandering bull$hit anymore. I don't feel for him, at all. He's always been nothing more than a used car salesman, unfortunately his ambition got in the way of his true calling.

Addendum:
The dems nominated him in 2020, because they had no viable candidate who could beat Trump. Biden was a known commodity who was willing and could be managed during an unprecedented election environment that could be engineered.

To pull the plug on an incumbent President is a sign of weakness that reverberates through the entire party. Besides, they don't have a proven candidate on deck. Just because a guy like Gavin Newsome can win in CA, doesn't mean he can win the electoral college.
