USA News and Poland - part 10

My reply shows that Americans do become richer because of foreign investment.

Not if that investment kills native jobs.

We can buy only so many cars a year. If we buy them from Toyota, we don't buy them from GM. That's zero-sum at work...

Except for one thing...Toyota will always take our money home to Japan. GM may, too, but is less likely.

Toyota will bring their own managers. GM will very likely employ Americans.

The bottom line is that Toyota is not the same as GM. No, I am not talking about cars.

If this is still too complicated...The outcome is different if you pay your son to cut the grass vs. hiring your neighbor's kid.

@AntV
You pay off the debt by first legislating all the loans into interest free grants and eliminating that debt service. You legislate term limits for congress, and laws requiring a balanced budget. Then you gradually print more money to pay off the debt over a 50 year span. Or you tell the wealthy bond holders and countries who bought the debt, to FO and thats it. The idea of the US lending itself the money it prints cannot be rationally explained by anyone I have ever heard. The scheme of the Fed, and US government financial management offices makes zero sense. Another good way is to stop giving money away to every other country.

This will at some point come to a head, and if the dollar is no longer the worlds currency the US experiences a depression that will make the Great Depression look like the good old days.

PAK for president.

On the other hand, we want you alive so maybe it's a bad idea...

AntV

@Novichok

It's not a zero-sum game. Car or any market can grow or shrink.

Toyota building cars in America is not going to kill American jobs, they are going to build them in America using American workers.

@PolAmKrakow

But the greatest driver of our debt is social security and medicare. How do you pay down our debt without addressing those entitlements ?

Novichok
7 Aug 2024  #455

Toyota building cars in America is not going to kill American jobs,

Of course, not, but it will not create new ones, either, unless the cars built by Toyota in the US are exported. If sold here, these care do not add to the total.

They replace cars that could be sold by GM, for example. Zero-sum...

We consume things at certain rates - such as food and cars. If eat breakfast at restaurant A I will not eat at restaurant B. Zero-sum...The same with cars...

Overlaying this there is the question of where the profits are spent - in or outside of the US. Toyota will more likely spend its US profits outside.

Therefore, Toyota =/= a US company.

Bottom line: Pure greed and stupidity made the US depend of foreigners for almost everything - including US flags and postage stamps...

I wonder if the toilet paper US presidents use to wipe their smelly butts is made in China. Or the pens they use to sign another stupid deficit spending bill...

A superpower that makes nothing besides F-35s ...and it shows...It's call "national debt" - a fiscal version of Thelma and Louise's last ride...

How do you pay down our debt without addressing those entitlements ?

Keep foreign garbage out!!! Stop chain migration!!! Don't spend SS surplus!!!

AntV
7 Aug 2024  #456

Don't spend SS surplus!!!

We first need a surplus.

Novichok
7 Aug 2024  #457

There was a surplus. It was supposed to be saved for the days when the surplus would become a deficit due to demographics. It was known as "a lockbox".

Instead, the gangsters in DC - aka "our democratically elected legal representatives" - put their addicted hands on the "lockbox" and happily kept spending what the US taxpayers deposited in it on bullshlt.

The US government, by normal standards applicable to private corporations, is a criminal organization.

This is why cynicism is the only way to stay sane when dealing with these mother fvckers.

AntV
7 Aug 2024  #458

Yeah, but that lockbox- which was never ever a part of how the SS system was designed to work-still wouldn't have fixed the looming problem.

Literally 15 minutes ago, I received this in an email. Talk about timing:

Novichok
7 Aug 2024  #459

That video confirmed what I said so far about the US government being a criminal organization. If not criminal by intent, at least criminally stupid by including too many foreign parasites.
When an immigrant from Warsaw brings here his sick parents, they are on the SS payroll from day one without paying one fvcking dime into the system.

State retirement "funds" are just a fvcked up. Illinois is missing 130 billion bucks to be fully funded.

Bottom line: This country is an unmanageable pile of crap with nobody being responsible or in charge. See the federal nursing home for the retarded aka the White House.

Do you know who is running this nut house? In China, they do. It's the CCP and Xi. He may be evil, but he ain't an old senile fart...

Too cynical?

AntV

Too cynical?

Yes.

Bobko
7 Aug 2024  #462

Illinois is missing 130 billion bucks to be fully funded.

Insane. I thought we had it bad in New York.

Just to be clear - this is exclusively the "public" portion of unfunded pension liabilities? Teachers, cops, other state employees?

It's bound to happen when someone can work for the police for twenty years and then retire at 40 and do f*ck all. Also, when somebody has just ten years of teaching service, and retires at 67 with full benefits.

Even in the Communist USSR you couldn't sit on your ass after working for just 15-30% of your life.

They should do what the car manufacturers did in Detroit, and buy these pensions out and stop giving the same to new people.

PolAmKrakow
7 Aug 2024  #463

@AntV
Not sure if Social Security is the greatest driver of debt. It still funded. Debt service in interest is huge, and no one can explain why the US lends the money it prits to itself with interest. Still waiting for an expert to explain it and its never been done. But assuming you are correct. You change SS and invest the money into the index funds. That growth with new contributions will go a long way. Stop a whole bunch of federal hiring in the IRS, stop funding a whole lot of other government welfare employment programs and then you have something combined with my other ideas.

AntV
7 Aug 2024  #464

@PolAmKrakow

Medicare is an even bigger driver if I'm not mistaken. We need to do something about health care costs, as well.

You change SS and invest the money into the index funds

Solid idea, but no politician will touch that bad boy-once he does that'll be his last term.

Stop a whole bunch of federal hiring

Another solid idea, and it's a perfect time to do it. You wouldn't have to fire anybody to shrink the fed workforce, since half will retire within 5 years.

stop funding a whole lot of other government welfare employment programs

Once again, solid idea. Probably the most palatable of your ideas to the average American.

They should do what the car manufacturers did in Detroit, and buy these pensions out and stop giving the same to new people

Easier said than done. The car guys really only had to worry about feeling the hammer from investors-who probably liked the buyout option. The gov pension guys have to worry about elections-most people only hear: no more pensions and freak out and vote the bastards out.

It's one big vat of problem stew.

Novichok
7 Aug 2024  #465

Teachers, cops, other state employees?

Yes. That's how Illinois Bolsheviks buy votes.
Debt service in interest is huge

1 trillion a year. MICC - 1 trillion a year.

@AntV
While this will surely be unpopular, the US needs someone that will stand up to congress and the tax and spend crowd and just write executive orders all day. Then they can waste their time and money fighting them in court. Expose the scumbags who keep spending and let the public vote them out of office. Unfortunately Trump doesnt even have the balls for this course of action.

More unpopular.......the US needs someone who just doesn't GAF. Someone who will break what ever laws or rules there are, by executive order, that now would be covered by immunity, to just fix things in the country. Fvck what congress says, they are the real problem. Totally gut the IRS Code, and make a flat tax, and eliminate personal deductions. Billionaires and millionaires pay more this way. Eliminate the loopholes for the wealthy to accumulate debt as income to avoid paying tax. Everyone pays their fair share. Corporate tax structures wouold need to be changed as well, and any corporation moving out of the country should see 100% tax on their products or services that are brought back into the country.

Medicare.....simple. Get the lobby money out of congress, and mandate that all healthcare be made not for profit. Limit big pharma, or lower the amount of time that drugs can be pattented, so that the government non profit pharma can produce generic drugs themselves.

The Obama administration made pharma and insurance companies ultra wealthy and ultra powerful with the stupid health care laws. There are really only five health insurance companies now that are making all the money. Four are publicly traded, BCBS is not. Average stock price of those insurance companies since Obama has risen 600%, because people now are forced to have insurance. And if the government has its way, those of us with our own insurance will soon be forced into buying what they tell us to buy. Meanwhile, congress continues to fvck every American citizen, and the Democrats not only want to keep doing it, but they want to accelerate the fvcking.

Another great post by you PolAm.
Now let me give one a try.

Another obama bad idea goes belly up after a lot of his Woke cronies make a ton of money off this crop failure.
I would like to know what obozo personally made off this one.
The worst part is that Joker, Rich and I said, "we told you so before you did it."

In a significant development for the renewable energy sector, SunPower Corporation, once a major player in the solar industry, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. This comes after the company received substantial government funding during the Obama administration. The story, covered by both Charles Payne on Fox Business and finance YouTuber Fourth Seraph, highlights the complexities and challenges faced by SunPower in an industry that promised revolutionary change but has faced numerous setbacks.

We will pay for obama's sins for decades to come.

My patience is running out. I am not a billionaire, so I get fvcked in the US because I make too much. Its a fvcking penalty to be successful. All these retarded socialist fvcks want to do is suck off the wealthy who have worked harder or smarter than them. Never in human existance has everyone been equal. Its un natural. There are those who lead, and those who follow. Thats life. All the fvcking socialist losers need to put a tampon in and stfu.

johnny reb

All the fvcking socialist losers

Yup, the Welfare fvcks.

I have an old friend from years ago that wants me to lend him $1500 to pay his property taxes.
This guy has drank 12 beers a night for the last 50 years at $13 a 12 pack. ($237,250)
He smokes two pack of cigarettes a day for the same period at $8 a pack. ($146,00)
Thats $383,250 in his life on beer and cigarettes.
And now he wants me to feel sorry for him and lend him $1500 to pay his property taxes. 😳
All the fvcking socialist losers need to put a tampon in and stfu.

But unfortunately all we hear is, "Gimme Gimme Gimme".
Free food, free healthcare, free housing, free college, free free free as long as someone else is paying for it because there ain't anything free.
Someone has to pay for it and they think because we have worked hard, invested and saved that we should pay for it because we have money and they don't.
Welcome to America and the Woke Democratic Party.

Novichok

Thats $383,250 in his life on beer and cigarettes.

I used to do the same kind of math...It's amazing how those 10-buck-a-day habits add up over time to some serious dough.
And that's without investing and compounding...

My Managing Director drives a Lada Niva. Should I be concerned about this?
