Are you saying that the 10 to 20% of those that become living children are not worth the effort? If insurance companies and the government are coving costs, those numbers will go way up. The reason there is not as much IVF is because most people who want children cannot afford it. Dont get me started on the ages of women doing this or why now they look at this option. Making this possible though could actually change a lot of the family dynamics we all see being destroyed by the socialist leftist nut cases. Children who grow up in stable homes are much more likely to recreate that environment when they get older, this is part of the rights family values long term goals. I dont think you can look at IVF as a single argument.

Pro life people don't have problem with the cost but are worried about the embryos that are not implemented.

I am saying that the 80-90% of human lives that are discarded are as valuable than the 10-20% that are implanted. It's a garrish practice. The ratio of embryos created and discarded will remain the same, it's just that the raw numbers will increase. It is no different than abortion, as human life is being destroyed.

There is also no exemptions for religious or conscience objection. It's the same as Obama mandating religious ministries to include abortion coverage in their insurance plans even though it is contrary to their beliefs.

Plus, there is the argument that IVF is contrary to nature, ie human sex. I see a correlation between it and all other sexual dysfunction-homosexuality, transexuality. They all are removed from nature.

I understand all of your arguments and respect your position. I am looking at a bigger picture. Declining birth rates around the world are tied to many reasons. The women who chose careers over children until they realise they want children is one of the biggest issues. Families not staying together is another. The destruction of traditional family values in society is another. Lets just say for arguments sake that the number rises to 50% over ten years time. What then? What about the couples who want children but have a low sperm or egg count and cant make it happen naturally? Beyond religious beliefs there are a lot of variables to consider.

My belief on life and when it begins is based more on science than religion or any feelings. Not that I dont respect others, just mine are different. Science tells us a child in the womb has its own DNA seven weeks after conception. Thats when I see life as being realized. Just my opinion.

What if time limits were placed on use of these embryo's? Say a person has five years to use them, or they go into a bank of embryos for people around the world to use who dont have funded IVF programs? Or after death of the people freezing these embryos they go into a bank? There should be some creative solution to get both sides to compromise on whats actually best for the people who are most effected. My beliefs are no more valuable than yours or anyone elses. This is where government and people have lost their way. They think their opnions and ideas are superior of more moral, when in fact, they are not if society is to function for everyone.

Quite. And a "medical procedure" in which 1-2 children live and 8-9 die can hardly be described as pro-life.


There are so many orphans waiting for adoption that it still boggles the mind that such questions even need to be asked.

I understand your point of view, but who are we to tell anyone its either an orphan or no child? That is not anyones right to decide how a couple builds a family. Orphans do need to be addressed, its not a large problem in the US though because most do get adopted. Couples wait for years to adopt, so its not really a problem in the US. You cant take the viewpoint of a Pole into consideration when this is an American problem. There are not enough children in the US to satisfy the demand for adoption. In fact, many people adopt from outside of the country because the wait is so long in the US.

So are mine. I think you are confusing the detection of fetal DNA in mother's bloodstream at 7-weeks from the new human life containing its own DNA at the moment of conception.

Adoption is a good alternative. But, such situations are difficult and burdensome for couples who can't conceive. To turn your question around: is destroying human embryos justified by assuaging the burden of a couples' infertility? If so, how is that different from abortion? In the end, we are subordinating development of innocent human life to the will of another.

To bring this back within the context of the 2024 Presidential campaign, Trump is misreading the support he has received from pro-lifers. IVF is a legitimate and rational concern for pro-lifers. You may disagree with pro-lifers who are offended by Trump's IVF push, but it's not irrational and idiotic as you said. I hope pro-lifers will still see that Trump may have untethered himself to promoting the full spectrum of life issues, but Harris is no better and is exceedingly worse on other issues, especially those issues that deal with quality-of-life.

I respect your position, but cant say that yours or the other side should be able to determine how a child is concieved. The Bible never accounted for science, and that is the church's problem, they did that purposefully. The idea in my opinion, is to eliminate the argument as a political topic. Abortion is in the hands of the States, as it should be under the constitution. Maybe a State by State solution that offered a level of federal funding could be the best way, and let each state vote on it.

That's a pretty good memo. Add Israel in there to push the issue-an uncomfortable issue for Harris, she is trying to satisfy her anti-Israel support without offending Jewish support. Make her offend both by pushing the issue.

I recoil when religion is used to define science or science is used to prove or disprove religion. Science and faith are occupied with two distinctly different subjects: science is concerned with the created world and religion with the Creator and our relationship with Him.

The problem with Trump and his IVF proposal is that he created a political issue that wasn't a issue before he created it. Really stupid on his part. He has engineered a controversy within his supporters. This proposal will gain him no additional support, but may end up losing supporters. I'm just completely flummoxed by this development.

The problem: States will have to pay for migrant IVF. At 20k per pop, it's not a chump change...It takes three on average...

What he did was take that argument away from the democratic criminals by saying he supports it. It is a big issue for the pro choice movement, and may be enough to get some to cross over voting. I just dont think it has any place in the national discussion, and should be a state issue. Kumala is trying to take the border issue away from Trump, so I think this is a smart move. Border is not a big issue for most democratic voters. Women with a penis, and men with periods is a bigger issue for Democrats.

It should be an issue for anyone with at least two brain cells - as rare as it is...
