According to an ABC news report, Trump wants to get rid of our Secretary of Education
permanently!!
'Course, the Reps have always been anti-anything to improve our society. Don't forget too,
most if not all, "machine" politicos during the early years of the last century barely attended first-grade,
much less high school, let alone college, e.g. (Boss) William Marcy Tweed, Boston's Mayor Curley etc. etc.
ad nauseum.
A well-known German conductor, Karl Muck, upon visiting the US on a brief tour around the time following
WWI, remarked that America was a country controlled by mob rule and ignorance, almost a backwater,
with nary a bit of culture or respect for higher learning.
The crucial difference between Europe and America is precisely that Europeans value learning and are
truly curious about the world around them, whereas, Americans remain primitive, isolated, and rarely even
the least bit curious about much, save for which wall paper will look good for their second home in the burbs:-)
A tragic comment on the future of our nation, indeed, our planet.
