"Good guy"???! What's "good" about involuntary manslaughter?
Maybe Pennie didn't kill Neely on purpose, nonetheless, a death
was caused owing to Pennie who didn't know his own strength.
One wonders whether or not if Neely had been white, Pennie would have
used such excessive force. After all, hatred based on personal prejudice
does tend to come out in moments of anger.
What caused Pennie such rage? Once again, was it merely because Neely was
a black man? Had he been, for example, an Asian, a Hispanic or an Orthodox Jew
in full regalia, would this too have made a difference?
