Would Poles support Belgrade as EU Capital, instead of Brussels, if possibility occurs for that ?

Crow

Thank you Dirk.

See, when you mentioned bombing, Belgrade is considered to be most often devastated Capital city (that still exist) in entire known human history. 44 times Belgrade was devastated. Ruined by the Romans and by Mongols. Ruined and bombed by the Turks, by Austrians, by Hungarians, by Germans. Bombed by USA and by Britain.

USA and Britain bombed Belgrade during WWII and in 1999 year. For the Anglos, back in WWII Belgrade was target same as Dresden in Eastern Germany. As if Anglos wanted to underline that they desire evil to the Serbs, equally to Northern, as well as to Southern. Belgrade was equally flattened by Germans in 1941 and by USA and Britain in 1944. Germans ``had`` reason for bombing, while nobody still figured out why our allies USA and Britain bombed Belgrade in 1944.

And yes, like a phoenix bird Belgrade raised from the ashes. Business and powers from all meridians invest in Belgrade attracted by our insistence on independence and by our neutral position on global alliances.

Sounds kind of like warsaw in a way. Serbia is definitely on my short list of next trips to take: peru, serbia, china, and nepal I plan to visit in the next 2 3 years. Id also like to see the arirang festival in north Korea but trips are rather pricey there. I'm going to Europe soon bht will most likely only be in Poland czechy and possibly Dortmund Germany if time permits. Its a short trip just to visit family not so much sightsee. Next trip I take to Europe though I definitely want to see Serbia and Montenegro. Closest I've visited is Austria czechy and Italy but I've never been to the Balkans.

What do you think would be best for visiting Serbia and czarna gora - flying in from poland, taking a train/bus from poland, or driving? I plan to either rent a car if I'm there or find like a sort of tour guide or a cool taxi driver that can take me around and show me all the sights and sounds.

Thanks for asking, my virtual friend.

Listen. What I know you have direct flight from/to Poland/Serbia. Polish LOT and Air Serbia have code share agreement. I would suggest you to first fly to Belgrade and then take rent a car to Novi Sad to the EXIT fest, if your trip coincide with this music fest (definitely one of best fests in Europe). Anyway, if you can arrange timing of the trip that way (Jun/Jul), after Novi Sad you may want to travel to Montenegro using same rent a car that you already have. Its because second part of the EXIT fest goes in there- in Montenegro. Then you have your time in the region and when you finish, you can leave rented car there and take direct flight to Belgrade, finish your trip there and again take direct flight for Poland. Now, even if you don`t go to EXIT fest, I again suggest same organization for the trip. Novi Sad is also worth to be seen (its 80 km directly north from Belgrade). City is chosen for European Capital of Culture for 2021 year.

What kind of music is at exit fest? Is it like techno or something I kno there's a lot of music festivals with mostly electronica type artists. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Serbia has its own unique version called turbo folk or something like that. Similar to our disco polo but harder bass and higher bpm

Crowie aren't you going to invite Ziem and his Missus to join you for din-dins?? At least offer to show them the sights one day and throw in a kebab :)) I think the Oasis one looks really nice for a more budget option. Are there any bed and breakfast type, small family run places where you can stay with a Serbian family or are they more to be found in rural areas, if at all?

Ziemowit

Thank you, Crow. They both seem fine, though the Oasis hotel seems to be too close to the airport and we are going to travel by train via Budapest. Not sure if we can venture this year, anyway.

What's din-dins? Anyway, I wouldn't expect Crow to meet us in Belgrade as I understand people met in the internet may choose to remain anonymous. Besides, I really love discovering a city or a place myself which is why I usually prefer not to buy organized trips.

Yes, I agree that small family-run places would be even better. But I don't expect anyone who is a permanent resident in a place to know where these are since there is really no need for a such a person to look for accomodation there other than their own.

What's din-dins?

Dinner of course! We use that term sometimes in Ireland with small children, it's baby talk, like sweeties for sweets or biccies for biscuits. I was just teasing by the way about Crow conducting you around Belgrade. I'm sure he's a lovely, warm hearted and hospitable man but highly volatile and as I've often said he'd be wining and dining you one minute and the next you'd be on a train to exile and hard labour in the salt mines :D

Crni Sin - Relja feat. Cvija & Coby

I know this one too, it's about an unfortunate mom whose husband dies during the war in Yugoslavia, she has 3 sons, one is a businessman, one is a criminal and one is an alcoholic.

Relja seems to like being in prison.

Almost as much as Delph.
He likes being in a Polish prison more than in his home.

dw.com/en/uefa-charges-russias-zenit-with-racism-over-ratko-mladic-banner/a-41524652

Atleast millions of serbs, russians and other slavs will remember Mladic as someone who wasn't scared to stand up to the muslims and stand up for Serbian interests. I still can't fathom why some Serbians would ever consider joining NATO after 1999. If putin was in charge instead of drunk ass Yeltsin I don't think Belgrade would have been bombed.

His arrest and trial was all political b.s. anyway and even msm guardian agrees.

If putin was in charge instead of drunk ass Yeltsin

Yeltsin was a first Russian ruling politician ever who hated Serbs because Serbs love Poles. Fortunately, Putin love us because we love Poles. Putin eats a lot of Polish apples re-exported from Poland via Serbia.

Putin doesn't like Poland bc pis is doing everything to put more troops, missles, tank battalions etc on his doorstep. I really feel there will be an epic battle between east and west in the future.

Poles Serbs Russian Ukrainians etc all have similar thinking though. They tend to be conservative, traditional, religious, reject gay marraige, reject me/African migration, etc. However pl has thrown it's lot with the eu which many poles don't want to leave and consider it a necessary evil. Weve been with the west for a thousand years and i doubt itll change now. Although thanks to the eu cultural enrichment pl and thr other slavic countries have now focused more on v4 and potential intermarium in the future. Ukraine wants to join eu/NATO so bad but they have no clue how much sovereignty they'll give up. The imf is already dictating the country's economic policies ever since they took a loan from the usurious Zionists. The right wing Ukrainians love the idea of intermarium.

Serbias doing a good job balancing between russia and NATO though and benefits because of it. Why theyd want to train with NATO soldiers after 1999 and esp since russia just have them free migs is beyond me.

Weve been with the west for a thousand years and i doubt itll change now.

thousand you say?

Ironically, Polish first contacts with the western Europeans and particularly Rome, went solely via Southern Sarmatians, ancestors of today`s Serbians. We traded with Romans when they still were one Rome and we traded later with Western and Eastern Romans, we struggled against them, we started to hunt our own when Romans asked for fresh slaves, then we connected Poles with Rome and Poles also started to hunt their own for fresh slaves for Rome, then we again and again fought against Romans, then we called upon ancestors of today`s Poles- Northern Sarmatians to help us against them, then ancestors of Poles helped, then we asked Poles to gave their warriors to Romans so that we could save ourselves and Poles gave their warriors to serve Rome. Then, we refused Rome and Poles subjugated to it. Then we started to ask- what happened to Svetovid? Rest is history.

Say that we Serbs aren`t imbeciles.

Crow

You know how it works. More Serbia is closer with Russia, stronger Poland, in turn stronger Serbia, in turn stronger Russia. Its the secret of ancient balance among Slavs. That even if exist antagonism between Poles and Russians. See, Serbians are that factor which provides that foreigners don`t profit on internal Slavic misunderstandings.

Dirk diggler

It's a shame that slavs fight against other slavs.... Poles and Russians, Ukrainians and Russians... to an extent Poles and Ukrainians... there's no need for it when there's so many other threats to the Slavic world
