2016 Presidential Elections in the US

Harry
12 Jan 2016  #61

Perhaps you would like to share with us where you get your misinformation from Harold.

Not even Donald Trump would be stupid enough to lie by claiming that Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods were murdered alongside ambassador Stevens; sadly you clearly are. Here's one source, let me know if you want others: washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/timeline-how-the-benghazi-attack-played-out/2014/06/17/a5c34e90-f62c-11e3-a3a5-42be35962a52_story.html

The two men killed trying to protect the Ambassador were retired Navy Seals put their for the ambassadors security and died side by side with the Ambassador.

Why do you bother with lies that not even Trump would tell? Stevens died from smoke inhalation in the diplomatic compound at approximately 22.30; Doherty and Woods died at approximately 04.00 on the next day during a mortar attack on the CIA compound. They died on a different day in a completely different location but you insist on claiming that they died "side by side with the Ambassador"; not even at his most moronic would Trump tell such a lie.

I have finally figured out your problem here Harold and I am not saying this to belittle or insult you.
I have noticed that you Brits take everything literally in the English language while us Americans use the English language quite differently.
When I say they died side by side you take that literally to mean within touching each other side by side.
When I am condensing the story to mean side by side I mean that they died in the same fire fight even if it lasted six days.
They served together and died together as the Navy Seals gave their life trying to protect the Ambassador Stevens as their job was, security.
You however like to take everything literally to split hairs for an argument to prove a meaningless point and call the other person a liar.
When I read an article I take the jest of it and give thought to something else.
When you read an article you pick out meaningless details for the sake of argument to show your brilliance.
There have been so many different stories in Hillary's cover up because she lied that no one knows yet for sure what happened.
The only thing we know for sure at this point is that both Hillary and the American government lied.
Obama tried to blame this on a movie some guy made and imprisoned him falsely.
The hearings are still not complete but are underway.
Until those hearings are complete let's not be calling anyone a liar or stupid.
And with that said it is not just this thread that we have this problem with your arguing with everyone over trivial crap by splitting hairs.
You take everything literally and others use figuratively speech which gives you Brits grounds to start a p!ssing contest.
That is the reason I have conflict with the British. They are stiffed lipped about everything.
So the conclusion is that the British and Americans speak the English language with different mannerism meanings.
Stevens died from smoke inhalation in the diplomatic compound at approximately 22.30; Doherty and Woods died at approximately 04.00 on the next day during a mortar attack on the CIA compound.

Yes, the same compound side by side only at different times. See what I am saying ?
Now let's get back on thread, shall we.

Harold

You mean Quique?
When you read an article you pick out meaningless details for the sake of argument to show your brilliance

Hah, not to show his brilliance, he is one brick short of the full load and that it all.

Harry

They served together and died together as the Navy Seals gave their life trying to protect the Ambassador Stevens as their job was

No, they did not give their lives trying to protect a man who died the day before them in a different place to them; not even Trump would be moronic enough to claim they did.

12 Jan 2016  #65

You mean Quique?

Harold just has some annoying issues that he needs to deal with.
He certainly does not seem like he is a happy man and is dealing with a lot of anger issues.
Maybe if we were all nice to him he would learn how to smile and laugh and start enjoying life.
No, they did not give their lives trying to protect a man who died the day before them

Ah, yes they did Harry as we will see when the Hearings are complete.
I will bet you a beer on it.

Johnny, being a Texan is nothing to apologize for, being an ignorant redneck is:-)

Incidentally, the best come back to your governor Rick Perry, was when he proudly declared that "higher education's overrated", at which point one gentleman in the crowd shot back, "Easy to knock somethin' ya ain't never got!"

Touche, eh old fellow??

johnny reb
13 Jan 2016  #67

You don't know the difference between a Texan ad a Redneck do you ?
See a Texan rides his horse and a Redneck rides his cousin.

Did you know that Cruz is a senator from Texas ?

You did heard about Obama giving a speech to high school students in eastern Texas (home of the KKK) about gun violence in America ?
Obama tells the students that every time he claps his hands a minor is shot with a handgun in the U.S.
Obama proceeds to clap his hands slowly......clap.....pause........clap......pause.......clap........pause.......clap.
Little johnny sitting in the back of the auditorium shouts out in a very heavy southern drawl....................
"THEN QUIT CLAPPIN' YER HANDS YA DUMB ASS !"

Lyzko
13 Jan 2016  #68

If you bothered to even hear Obama's speech, did you comprehend what he was saying???

You sound to me like a Republican, johnnyO. Am I correct? Not that I approve of name calling, necessarily:-)

johnny reb
13 Jan 2016  #69

If you bothered to even hear Obama's speech,

I quit listening to that loser 7 years ago.
If you haven't heard, he is nothing more than a community organizer who many call a closet Muslim.
Not that I approve of name calling,

Then why are you doing it ? :-)
You sound to me like a Republican, johnnyO. Am I correct?

Really it is none of your business what I am if the truth be known.
I mean WHY would that concern YOU what I am ?
Obviously you just want to know so you will have more of my personal information to belittle me with.
Why don't you tell us what party and what country you belong to first. ha ha ha
The answer to your ignorant question is, No, I am not a true Republican.
Let me explain to you the difference in parties in America
The democrats are Liberal Socialists club.
The republicans are an elite Conservative club.
I am more of a Conservative Libertarian (You can goggle that for yourself)

Trump is saying what the American people are feeling and want.
The democrats are stymied by the Trump campaign because they can't stop him with their Political Correctness or money.
Trump is running away with what is important to the majority of the American people.
And then you have the criminal Hillary that is slipping fast in the polls as more and more of the Clinton Crime Families skeleton's are surfacing.
Hopefully she will be incarcerated before the presidential vote takes place.

Obama's speech was full of lies. Hes a good talker but bad politician.
Since im not American (and thus not Republican or Democrat). I would support Trump just for the hell of it.
Hes against the Politically Correct dictators and has a different approach.
So just for a change it might be funny to see him win.

(Sadly I think Clinton will win, and another Bush would be awful).

13 Jan 2016  #71

Johnny, noone here's belittling you, friend! You're doing that all by yourself (and doing a pretty fair job, I must say!)
:-)

But seriously now. How can you call yourself a true libertarian, when real liberty aka "freedom" also means being free to be an average Joe, a loser as well as a winner!!! Don't you people understand that Trump is little more than a sadistic bully, similar to any Reagan Republican or Tea Partier, who speaks to those who don't get why we're all here!! FDR understood miraculously that EVERY working American citizen deserves an equal chance. Why do I respect Roosevelt so? Because he came from that 1% class of the mega-rich who came down off of his high horse to help those who'd never had his advantages in a millenium. He understood that this "up from poverty on your own bootstraps" ideology indeed works from some, but NOT FOR ALL!!!

Just what makes an honest tax-paying citizen who's not a super-tech, sports or finance whizkid any less deserving of decent housing, medical care and a standard of living that's respectable? The answer is NOTHING!!!

johnny reb
13 Jan 2016  #72

The answer is NOTHING!!!

The answer is that we can't all win the Kentucky derby or all win the super Bowl can we.
There always has been and always will be the rich and poor class in the world.
Is it Politically Correct, No. (Socialism)
Is it a true fact, Yes.
How can you call yourself a true libertarian

Because that is what I am closest to being. Did you google what a Libertarian is ?
Why don't you tell us what party and what country you belong to first.

And the answer to that is ?

Yosemite
13 Jan 2016  #73

There always has been and always will be the rich and poor class in the world.

Always! you sure about that. Funny when people say things like "its always been like this" or "that will never happen", never is a very long time indeed. I wonder if a family living within the feudal system could have muttered the lingo for "never happen" if somebody informed them of the potential, technological break throughs available within the next few hundred years.

johnny reb
14 Jan 2016  #74

I don't think normal people 'wonder' what technological break throughs will be available in the next few hundred years however technically I suppose you are right.
Back on thread please.

Lyzko
14 Jan 2016  #75

However, Johnny, as in the movie "It's a Wonderful Life", does being poor mean you can't live in a decent, if modest, house with running water, have three squares a day, etc???? We're not talking regular trips to Bermuda or Europe here, pal!!!

johnny reb
14 Jan 2016  #76

What you consider 'poor' and what I consider 'poor' are two different things.
To answer your question with my definition of 'poor' is, no, poor don't live in a decent, if modest house with running water and have three squares a day.
And let me ask you for the third time, "what country were you born in" ?
That might help me understand your confusion about the rich and poor.
After you answer my question hopefully we an get back on thread or did I mention that already.

jon357
14 Jan 2016  #77

Academic really, since Trump won't win.

johnny reb
15 Jan 2016  #78

I tend to agree with you jon.
I posted that back in post #57.
Staring to look like it will be between Cruz and Sanders at this point.

I could actually live with either of those two with Cruz the better of the two.
The GOP debate tonight is going to be a free for all.
Can't wait to watch it.
I think Trump will go after Cruz tonight being there is only one more debate after this one.
Trump is just not presidential material even though I agree with his policies.

15 Jan 2016  #79

And let me ask you for the third time, "what country were you born in" ?

Didn't Lyzko say in one of his posts that he is from NYC?

johnny reb
15 Jan 2016  #80

He refuses to answer me just like you refuse to tell us what State you live in George.
We do need to stay on topic here.

TheOther
15 Jan 2016  #81

just like you refuse to tell us what State you live in George

Huh???

So where do YOU live once again, Johnny? :)

johnny reb
15 Jan 2016  #82

I live by the Catseye.
Where do you live ?
Can we get back on topic after you tell us where you live.
I told you where I live.

TheOther
15 Jan 2016  #83

Dude, you asked a question (where does Lyzko live) and I gave you an answer. That's all there is to it. Why do you react so strangely?

johnny reb
15 Jan 2016  #84

You are the one reacting strangely as if you are ashamed of where you live.
I told you where I live so now it is your turn to tell us what State you live in.

TheOther
15 Jan 2016  #85

I believe you are just trying to stir some sh*it here, Johnny. Are you bored? Anyway, I'll make you happy: CA (which I have mentioned on this forum quite a few times already)...

15 Jan 2016  #86

Why do I respect Roosevelt so? Because he came from that 1% class of the mega-rich who came down off of his high horse to help those who'd never had his advantages in a millenium.

I'm also a big fan. It was precisely because he came from privilege that he was able to implement his New Deal. An openly Left-leaning president (if that's not a contradiction in terms in the US) could never have sold what was essentially a socialist programme. This is why Obama's ideas never flew; in the States now the big lie has been bought by enough people. That's why you hear absurd statements from poor right wing people who think they are upholding freedom when the tell Washington, "Hands off my medicare".

Roger5
15 Jan 2016  #87

"Mr. Trump's virulent combination of ignorance, emotional instability, demagogy, solipsism and vindictiveness would do more than result in a failed presidency; it could very well lead to national catastrophe. The prospect of Donald Trump as commander in chief should send a chill down the spine of every American."
From Conservative Republican Peter Wehner in yesterday's New York Times.

15 Jan 2016  #88

Thank you, Roger5! The New Deal and FDR showed America and the world that it was nonetheless possible to be a "caring capitalist" (with, horrors, socially-conscious leanings)!!!!

The beauty is, it WASN'T some pinch-yourself Hollywood dream world, but a happy reality for millions of deserving Americans. As in "It's a Wonderful Life", the rotten Potters of this planet, lost.... that is, until Reagan!

johnny reb
15 Jan 2016  #89

Reagan was the best president of my life time.
Reaganomics not only stabilized but got our country back on it's feet again.
That's why you hear absurd statements from poor right wing people who think they are upholding freedom when the tell Washington, "Hands off my medicare".

Actually you hear that statement from the "poor" left wing welfare fukcs Roger.
See medicare was ORIGINAL set up to be available ONLY to people that had reached the age of 65 or the people who had been permanently disabled to help them when they no longer were able to WORK to have an income enough to support themselves.
That is what F.D.R. had in mind and set medicare up for, not a free income to support you and your bastards.
Today medicare has been basterized with many other hands dipping out of it like Medicaid and W.I.C.C. program for example which irresponsible unemployed women (which covers the mother also) that have never worked to pay anything into medicare program that have multiple children out of wedlock get to suck out of to raise their children with benefits that the responsible working people who have medicare withdrawals taken out of their weekly paycheck by the government are not afforded for THEIR OWN CHILDREN such luxuries going without medical attention and top shelf foods because their parents can't afford to be forced to raise someone else's out of their paycheck FIRST.
If you lived in the United States as saw such abuse you would understand.
I go to the hospital with bone sticking out and bleeding and have to sit and wait because some fat azz welfare mama has her six kids in there with a sniffle and runny noses and medicare picks up the bill while I have to pay cash up front before the doctor will see me if I don't have an insurance program that I also have to pay out of my pocket.
Now the welfare mama's are even allowed to put their children on disability (to draw another free check) because her child has "attention deficit disorder" that a good crack on the azz wouldn't correct.
Don't talk about medicare to me when you are clueless to what and why F.D.R. ORIGINALLY set it up for and how the Bleeding Heart Socialists Liberals have bastardized it into what it is today.
F.D.R. is no doubt rolling over in his grave with disgust.
That is why the Liberals are fearing Trump is because they know Trump will put an end to some of this this crap plus undo all of Obama's executive orders..

I liked Rubio in the debate last night
Hillary is starting to slip fast.
The democratic debate with Sanders and Hillary are on t.v. Sunday night.
Every time she opens her mouth she slips further.
I think Sanders will beat Hillary in the primary vote in Iowa and New Hampshire.

Roger5
15 Jan 2016  #90

Having published a paper part of which covered the New Deal, I'm not entirely clueless, but never mind, there's no point telling you you're wrong. I don't think anyone except the GOP is frightened of Trump, because Trump isn't going to be president. The article I linked to earlier is worth reading.
