Yup, the bookies see that Clinton is likely to take the Democrat nomination

I would be more likely to take that bet.
I don't think she has a snowball in hells chance.

Thank you Roger, I will look into that tonight when I get home.

This analysis by David Frum in this month's Atlantic is well worth a read.

It's a fantastic article. It's been obvious for a while that the Republican leadership is completely at odds with the rank and file - while we might dismiss Trump's supporters as being uneducated and naive, it's obvious that he's speaking their language and not the language of corporate America. More to the point, the voters in the North clearly get that Trump will moderate his language heavily once/if he wins the GOP nomination.

Guys, Trump's way, we're throwing out the baby with the bathwater!! Why penalize a few bad Muslims just because the rest of the batch are rotten?? Makes no sense to me! On the other hand, Pat Buchanan wanted to penalize, Jews, Arabs, Hispanics, Blacks..... where does the lunacy stop???!

Why penalize a few bad Muslims just because the rest of the batch are rotten??

Do you have any idea of what you even post ? Made no sense to us either. lol
Pat Buchanan wanted to penalize, Jews, Arabs, Hispanics, Blacks.....

Pat for president !
Thank you Roger, I will look into that tonight when I get home.

I already have it from where you gave it to me once before but thank you again.

Heh. It looked similar to English though. :D

Heh. But it makes no sense though. :D

Hillary is going down fast and that makes a lot of people happy.
The Donald is due for a punch in the gut.
Grandma Bush came out in a rage today against him.
The elite's are starting to fear him.

delphiandomine
23 Jan 2016  #158

The elite's are starting to fear him.

Well, of course. He's mostly self-funded, he's got a ridiculously loyal group of supporters (equally on a par with Obama in 2008, if not more so) and he's got the cash not to give a damn about what corporate America wants. They might also be getting fearful because Sanders is ahead in Iowa - if he picks up speed, he wins the Democratic nomination. And at that point, Trump has a real chance.

In a strange way, I'm finding myself rooting for Trump to win the Republican nomination. I might not like what he says, but there's something quite nice about the idea of him sticking it to the big corporations behind the Republicans.

johnny reb
23 Jan 2016  #159

I think President Trumpster is 100% self funded.
You are also right about him not being influenced by the lobbyists.
Sanders is ahead in Iowa, South Carolina and way ahead in New Hampshire.
If Sanders sweeps those first three States to vote he pretty much has the Democratic Primary.
Hillary is on the verge of being indited on several felonies.
The Clinton Crime Family is going down.
If Obama refuses to have her charged for her crimes you will see a revolt in this country.
The F.B.I. is about ready to come unglued with the amount of hard evidence they have on her.
And at that point, Trump has a real chance.

The Trumpster would have a better chance against Hillary then he will Sanders as he would tear Clinton apart.
And at that point, Trump has a real chance.

He has had the best chance of anybody from day one.
I might not like what he says, but there's something quite nice about the idea of him sticking it to the big corporations

That a boy delph as I feel the same way, I don't care for Donald personally but I like what he stands for.
You can bet that he will beef our military back up to the point Putin will fear America again.
Trumps agenda is to make America great again.
We have the greatest Nation on the face of this earth and to have Washington let the American people down the way Obama has makes the people want what Trump stands for.

23 Jan 2016  #160

Hes not going to stick it to the big corporations, he's going to get in bed with them. What better way to profit than be president of the USA, "Q: what do men with power want? A: more power"

Its going to take something pretty big in the US to get a socialist commander and chief voted in and Trump may just be that ticket.

We have the greatest Nation on the face of this earth

easy there fella, i know you get carried away with the patriotic nonsense but lets keep things in perspective. You have a country where people live out there lives. The US lead many things and equality stats are not one of them, crime rates, murders, incarcerations and gross inequality however are. A true great nation would care for its citizens and in terms of stats the life quality gold medal goes to....:::

Plus the highest percentage in the developed world of people below the poverty line. The income statistics per county in some of the southern states are shocking.

johnny reb
23 Jan 2016  #163

Now wait a minute guys, last week you are saying that the Trumpster is not going to win.
Now you are telling us what he is going to do as President.
He is the big corporations.

Correct Roger as his annual income is $42 million USD.
That breaks down to over $115 thousand USD per day which is more than jon, Roger and Wroclaw Boy make in a year.

salary-money.com/donald-trump-salary-42000000.php#.VqOgXIvSk5s

Its going to take something pretty big in the US to get a socialist commander and chief voted in

We have had a Socialist president for the last seven years who has increased the national debt from 2 trillion to 19 trillion, more than all the rest of the presidents in history added together making it mathematically impossible for America to ever get out of debt.
There are more people on poverty now than when Socialist Obama took office.
Millions more people on government food stamps, less homeowners, more division of race, Blacks hating cops, more people out of work, Gays hating Christians, higher taxes, forced Obama care, Muslims hating everyone........why the fukc would America want another Socialist president ?????
Plus the highest percentage in the developed world of people below the poverty line.

And that so called poverty line is supplemented with government welfare which allows them to live quite nicely in poverty compared to any other country of the world's poverty.
The income statistics per county in some of the southern states are shocking.

No more then parts of London's demographics.
easy there fella, i know you get carried away with the patriotic nonsense

Just the "FACTS" W.B., America is the land of opportunity like no other country on the face of the earth, bar none.
A lot of lazy shiftless people are happy living on the great amounts of welfare handed to them which gives them no motivation to improve themselves (Socialism) Why should I get off mine when they get off theirs to support me.
No other country can come close to comparing America with them.
Opportunity, mightiest military, job opportunity, infrastructure, clean air and less pollution, clean drinking water, exports, manufacturing, freedom, welfare system, on and on and on.
Add those all together and it makes America number one in the world.

Opportunity, mightiest military, job opportunity, infrastructure, clean air and less pollution, clean drinking water, exports, manufacturing, freedom, welfare system,

Opportunity: yes, if you have enough money
Mightiest military: for how much longer?
Job opportunity: only if you grew up in the right neighborhood, could afford a good education, and know the right people. Otherwise ... good luck.
Infrastructure: antiquated and run down
Clean air: LOL! Ever flown into LA, the Silicon Valley or Newark?
Less pollution: dream on
Clean drinking water: ha ha ha ... ask the guys in Flint, Michigan
Exports: yes
Manufacturing: 30 years ago maybe, nowadays American manufacturing is based in China.
Freedom: a big fat YES!
Welfare system: a joke compared to other highly industrialized nations

What you have in mind is the America of the 1960's, Johnny. Things have changed a lot since then.

johnny reb
23 Jan 2016  #165

Opportunity: yes, if you have enough money

You didn't build that, somebody else did Obama rhetoric ? lol
Mightiest military: for how much longer?

Until President Trump takes office in which he will beef it back up to what Obama has dismantled.
Why do you think Russia, Iran, China all taunt Obama today and he bows to Islamic countries.
Job opportunity: only if you grew up in the right neighborhood, could afford a good education, and know the right people.

The low income people have all kinds of financial aid that was never offered in the 60's and the one's that were you were expected to pay back and people did without declaring bankruptcy. There was no such thing as "diversity", we didn't reward failure like we do today.
Infrastructure: antiquated and run down

Only where the minorities live because they have no motivation or respect in taking care of it by destroying what has been handed to them for free. If they would have had to WORK for it they would take care of it.
Clean air: LOL! Ever flown into LA, the Silicon Valley or Newark?

Ever been to Montana or Idaho ?
I am talking countries as a whole, ever been to China or London.
Less pollution: dream on

No need to dream about the facts.
Clean drinking water: ha ha ha ... ask the guys in Flint, Michigan

Ever been to any place in Michigan north of Flint ? How about the upper peninsula of Michigan with Lake Superior (the biggest source of clean fresh water in the world) PURE drinking water.
Manufacturing: 30 years ago maybe, nowadays American manufacturing is based in China.

Smart, keep the pollution over there
Welfare system: a joke compared to other highly industrialized nations

What highly industrialized nations would those be that also have the over all mentioned above ?
What you have in mind is the America of the 1960's, Johnny.

Don't remind me, when new cars cost $3000, everyone was working, sex was dirty and the air was clean, people could afford to buy a house, interest rates paid 16% at the banks, the birth control pill hit the market, no A.I.D.'s, no passport needed to go to Jamaica or Canada fishing, few welfare programs, affordable private health insurance, no neo natzi feminist movements, no gun laws to speak of and no mass murders, no one knew what pot plants looked like so you could grow it in your back yard, no generically modified food, no glutens, no mandatory flu shots for public workers, (government forcing you to take foreign substance in your body or get fired), gays stayed in the closet instead of marching in parades wearing pink feathered hats and kissing, loud mouth pussies got knocked on their ass and learned to shut up without being able to sue in fear of a further ass kicking, no Political Correctness just to mention a few.
Yup, those were the good old days alright, less government and when men were allowed to be men.

Johnny, our views are too different and I don't want to write a book to discuss the differences right now, so my apologies for concentrating on a few points only.

Schools and job opportunities:
It's a fact that you are pretty much screwed if you're born in the wrong neighborhood - be it inner city housing projects or all-white trailer parks. Wrong place = low income = bad public schools = lousy job or unemployed. Only a few can be successful entrepreneurs, the rest has to slave away. There's a reason why we have the so-called working poor.

Infrastructure:
I don't think we have to talk about the dismal state of our highway system, about the electric grid that is close to collapse all the time, about the almost non-existent public transport in the burbs, about...

How about the upper peninsula of Michigan with Lake Superior

Beautiful and clean. Check the other big lakes and the picture looks much different.

I am talking countries as a whole, ever been to China

China has a lot more people and big cities than the US, so the pollution is naturally all over the place. The US population is mostly concentrated on the West and East Coast, and that's where you see all the pollution. Despite, if another country is more polluted than your own doesn't mean that you shouldn't care what's happening at home.

Smart, keep the pollution over there

And the jobs, of course...

johnny reb
24 Jan 2016  #167

It's a fact that you are pretty much screwed if you're born in the wrong neighborhood -

Like any industrialized country of the world
Only a few can be successful entrepreneurs, the rest has to slave away.

We can't all win the Kentucky Derby or Super Bowl can we.
Participation trophies don't make it in the real world.
You are a Socialist and think the wealth should be divided equally because you have none.
I am a Capitalist, worked for what I have, it's mine and will share it with who I want, as much as I want, when I want.
I worked for it and that makes it mine to share it if I want to or not. Get it.
You can be successful too, just work a little harder.
I don't think we have to talk about the dismal state of our highway system, about the electric grid that is close to collapse all the time, about the almost non-existent public transport in the burbs, about...

Compared to who ?
Check the other big lakes and the picture looks much different.

That border Michigan ? Google them and look. Beautiful.
Now compare them to what ?
Oh no other country in the world has as much fresh water as America you say so there is nothing to compare it to is there.
Jobs, there is a job in America for anyone that wants to work, compare that to other countries.
Now one more time, "What other country has a combination of all the things America has ?
NONE is the correct answer.
That makes America the greatest country in the world dunnit.
Donald is going to fix what Obama broke.

TheOther

Like any industrialized country of the world

That's where you are mistaken.

That border Michigan ?

The other Great Lakes, Johnny... :)

Now compare them to what ?

To Lake Superior, Johnny... :)

Compared to who ?

I think I'll give up.

You are a Socialist and think the wealth should be divided equally because you have none.

Yup, I give up.

johnny reb
24 Jan 2016  #169

That's where you are mistaken.

Then name one country that doesn't have that same problem or can't you.
The other Great Lakes, Johnny... :)

Lake Erie is the only Great Lakes that is polluted out of the five of them and Lake Erie doesn't border Michigan.
Now compare the Great Lakes to any other fresh water Lakes in the world of that size or can't you.
I think I'll give up.

Good thinking on your part as over all.... America beats any other country on the face of this earth which can't be argued.
Yup, I give up.

Tuff to argue the truth innit.
Trump is going to make America great again, just hide and watch.

TheOther
24 Jan 2016  #170

Then name one country that doesn't have that same problem

There's not a single western country which has the problems that the inner cities in the US have with their drug infested, crime ridden neighborhoods and the abundance of guns. Why? Because inner cities in Europe and elsewhere are not even remotely comparable to their American counterparts. Of course you don't know that, because you have never been to "socialist" Europe or "communist" Japan... :)

Here's something to read for you:

huduser.gov/periodicals/cityscpe/vol3num3/article3.pdf
economist.com/news/leaders/21650545-problems-places-west-baltimore-require-focus-safety-and-schools-not-race-fixing
brookings.edu/research/articles/1999/09/fall-europe-ni vola

Lake Erie doesn't border Michigan.

So a lake is automatically clean because it borders Michigan? Interesting theory. Otherwise, your claim doesn't hold any water (pun intended):

theguardian.com/environment/2015/jan/09/great-lakes-plastic-microfibre-pollution-us
cbsnews.com/news/great-lakes-plagued-by-pollution/
nytimes.com/2014/09/25/us/epa-unveils-plan-to-restore-great-lakes.html
planetsav e.com/2012/12/31/lake-ontario-most-threatened-great-lake-followed-by-lake-erie-new-report-says/

Tuff to argue the truth innit.

Let me put it this way: trying to have a normal discussion with a Tea Partier is like trying to talk to a brick wall. You will of course claim that it's all the liberals' fault... :)

johnny reb
24 Jan 2016  #171

How many times have I ask you to PLEEEZE stay on topic ? Did I stutter or are you deaf ?
You surely show no respect.
Yup, I give up.

I knew better.
There's not a single western country which has the problems that the inner cities in the US have with their drug infested, crime ridden neighborhoods and the abundance of guns. Why?

Patience johnny, patience for he is a liberal.
(NOW we are comparing the inner cities or the Blacks ghetto's in America with western countries over all.) lol
How cleverly worded.
O.k.., guns, you have three cities in America, Chicago, New Orleans and Washington D.C which are all predominantly Black.
Without averaging in those three sh!t pit cities America gun stats drop WAY BELOW many other countries of the world per capita.
And if cars were outlawed in Western Europe they would have fewer car accidents then America too.
Now lets talk alcohol (Alcohol is a drug) use per capita where Poland, Finland, France, Ireland, Germany, and the U.K. all score above the United States. Pills are a choice drug of Americans and booze is a choice drug of western Europe.
I have heard repeatedly how drunks lay in the streets of Poland which you seldom see in the U.S.A. Why is that ?
Drug arrest in America are higher because America has much more stringent drug laws than the E.U. does which is a huge statistical factor.
Let me put it this way: trying to have a normal discussion with a Tea Partier is like trying to talk to a brick wall.

AGAIN, that is because you are a Liberal and Liberals get frustrated when they have to debate the FACTS.
The issue happens to be that the United States OVER ALL is the greatest country in the world.
That includes a variety of things such as infrastructure, economy, freedoms, fresh drinking water, mightiest military, clean air, job opportunities, pollution all rolled into one and compare it to any other country in the world.
You however don't want to debate the issue with the facts, you want to debate the inner cities of America to European countries.
You want to do that then let's compare the hardcore types of drugs being used in inner city London to the recreational drugs being used in the United States. It would be hardly fair now would it and this is what you are trying to do.
OVER ALL....... The United States rates the best country in the world by far.
Did you know that your country 'Australia' is rated number one in the world for recreational drug abuse ?
Now for the love of Mary stay on topic before I need to take a headache pill.
I have a feeling Rubio is going to come on strong before it is over.

stay on topic

We are very much on topic, my friend. Everything that was mentioned above (and a lot more) will go down the drain the very moment the "You are fired" show master gets elected.

I have a feeling Rubio is going to come on strong before it is over.

He's too young for the job.

...he is a liberal.

Blaming the liberals as predicted... :)

For the PF stupid, not me. It's their rule that you insist on showing no respect for.
I have a feeling Rubio is going to come on strong before it is over.

He's too young for the job.

He is older than John F. Kennedy was when he got elected and old John boy did a great job before the C.I.A. assassinated him.
When do you get your U.S. citizenship ?

So a post is automatically off topic when *you* disagree with it? Cool.

Off topic. You surely show no respect. LOL!

old John boy did a great job

Dunno. He almost started a nuclear war.

johnny reb
25 Jan 2016  #176

Wrong again as President Trump is going to clamp down on immigration.
So when are you getting your U.S. citizenship or you here just mooching off the system like delph & Harold are in Poland.
John boy did a great job before the C.I.A. assassinated him.

Dunno. He almost started a nuclear war.

Little before your time so that's understandable you don't know.
I watched the Bay of Pigs unfold live on t.v.
J.F.K. actually stopped a nuclear war.
He gave Nikita a swift kick in the ass and sent him back to Russia with his nukes and his tail between his legs.
President Trump has the same kind of intestinal fortitude as J.F.K. and after he builds our military back up like never before he will knock Putin down a peg or two along with Iran.

Lyzko
25 Jan 2016  #177

Friends, the real game changer here was the end of the Cold War, a la Reagan. Now, the US government no longer saw a need to protect the American citizen as before, since Communism no longer posed a tangible threat! Prior, there was fear the dissatisfied might "defect" to the Soviet Union and so the government did all it possibly could to make the American working man's life as satisfying as possible.

TheOther
25 Jan 2016  #178

Ya deaf !

Better deaf than ignorant...

I watched the Bay of Pigs unfold live on t.v. J.F.K. actually stopped a nuclear war.

It were both Eisenhower and Kennedy who created all this mess by allowing the Bay of Pigs invasion to happen in the first place. And then the American government pretended to be totally surprised by the Russian rockets that were installed on Cuba. Yeah, right. JFK played with the fire, and he only won because he was the better Poker player. If Crustchev wouldn't have blinked, JFK would've been responsible for WW3.

after he builds our military back up like never before...

... by accumulating another trillion or two in debt. But don't you worry: your Social Security benefits will be cut in half or scrapped, Medicare will be abandoned, and the funding for schools will be cut significantly to pay for all this and a couple of upcoming unnecessary wars. It will only stop when the country is bankrupt and you lost all your savings. Good luck in Jamaica then. Do you really care about your country and the generations that will come after you? From what you've written on PF so far, you come across as someone who would fit right in with the "Me, myself and I" crowd.

johnny reb
25 Jan 2016  #179

Better deaf than ignorant...

But in your case you are both
the American government pretended to be totally surprised by the Russian rockets that were installed on Cuba

The Republicans tried to tell them but it fell by the wayside with other priorities. They knew damn well what was going on in Cuba.
If Crustchev wouldn't have blinked,

But he did for two reasons, 1. Fear 2. Common sense
... by accumulating another trillion or two in debt.

Chump change compared to the 16 trillion debt Obama has created with his welfare plans in the last seven years.

Medicare will be abandoned, and the funding for schools will be cut significantly to pay for all this and a couple of upcoming unnecessary wars. It will only stop when the country is bankrupt and
and people will have to get off their dead ass to feed themselves in which you no doubt will go down in the first wave. And if you haven't heard the country is already bankrupt with no hope of ever getting out because of Obama.
Do you really care about your country and the generations that will come after you?

Yes, that is why I will not be voting for Hillary.............and you ?
Oh that's right, you can't vote with only having a green card can you.

TheOther
25 Jan 2016  #180

16 trillion debt Obama has created with his welfare plans in the last seven years.

How about the mess that was left behind by Bush and Cheney and their Wall Street cronies? If the GOP would have had a say, the American car industry and their local suppliers wouldn't exist anymore. Most Americans would've lost their lifetime savings, but hey ... you don't care because "the market will fix it", right?

you can't vote

Are you sure? :)
