2016 Presidential Elections in the US

I meant before that why penalize an entire group of people aka the Muslims, merely because of certain extremists who misuse the Koran for their own foul purposes? Same as with penalizing all American Jews, simply because of a pseudo-Faschist such as the late Meir Kahan, or penalizing all Christians because a guy named Fallwell incorrectly interpreted the Bible's teachings??

johnny reb

If the GOP would have had a say, the American car industry and their local suppliers wouldn't exist anymore.

I wonder how Ford Motor Company managed to pull through without taking ANY bailout money from Obama ?????
You've been brainwashed but good.
I meant before that why penalize an entire group of people aka the Muslims, merely because of certain extremists who misuse the Koran for their own foul purposes?

If someone gave you a bag of jelly beans and told you that only two were poison but the rest were good how many would you eat ?
They are high risk undesirables and if you don't like that answer, to bad because I could care if I offended you or them.
And neither does President Trump.
More popcorn please.

Trump is offensive, as are you, because he violates the inherent sensibilities of thinking, free people everywhere! We need leadership, not bullying masquerading as strength from locker-room studs like The Donald. The argument that Trump says the things others are afraid to say, lends credence to the badly-brought up child who says whatever they think, even if they can't, and pass judgements they couldn't possibly understand. The child learns eventually that things aren't necessarily as simple as he or she believes. The child aka Trump is too immature to have gained the requisite wisdom needed to be a true and valuable leader.

In short, when is Trump going to grow up?

You've been brainwashed but good.

Wonder who is really the brainwashed here...

"Closing the Big Three would mean loss of 240,000 very highly paid jobs at the Big Three,[46] a loss of 980,000 highly paid jobs at the suppliers and local dealers, plus the loss of 1.7 million additional jobs throughout the economy-a total loss of 3 million jobs."
" An estimated two million people relied on the industry for health care and 775,000 retirees collect auto-industry pensions.[21]"

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Effects_of_the_2008%E2%80%9310_automotive_industry_crisis_on_the_United_States

How many jobs were you willing to sacrifice for your "The market will fix it" god? Get real, man.

The present economy compared with the New Deal clearly shows the limits of laissez faire capitalism. Once upon a time, and not all that long ago, ball players for example, and their ilk, were paid commensurate with their contributions to society. Rich they weren't! Many correctly spent all their off-season time as porters, house painters and manual laborers. Today???!! We all know why a sportsman with barely a literate fifth-grade education earns six-to-seven figures. But is it justified? Scarcely!

What I'm trying to say is that things have spun so hopelessly out of control that everday life has gotten off kilter, lost its former balance and has the accent on the wrong syllable, totally lost focus on reality. Trump is hardly the solution, indeed, he and his kind are part of the problem. Not that Bernie Sanders has a snowball's chance in hell of winning, at least he's a New Deal liberal:-)

GO HILL GO!!!

GO HILL GO!!!

I agree with you there all the way Lyzko.......Hillary for Prosecution in 2016 !
Closing the Big Three

You are so brainwashed as it wasn't the big three as FORD MOTORS did not borrow a nickel or take a nickel from the government bailout......did you hear me that time.
They managed to tighten their belt and survived and when Ford stock price went from $32 a share down to $2.00 a share I jumped on 5000 shares to help them out. In fact I still have those 5000 shares which is now worth around $12 a share last time I looked.
That is why all my neighbors drive Ford trucks with bumper stickers that say "Built Without Government Money" and "Billy Bob's Gun Shop East Texas".
How many jobs were you willing to sacrifice for your "The market will fix it"

Wrong, I would have sacrificed them all. No one is going to bail me out if I run my business into the ground by paying my CEO's millions of dollars a year wages and give them million dollar bonuses and have a huge mismanagement debt.
Let the bastards sink.
GMC once stood for General Motors Corp. now it stands for Government Motors Corp.
Sorry Pal but I have ice water in my veins and have no mercy on greediness.
What I'm trying to say is that things have spun so hopelessly out of control that everday life has gotten off kilter

No sh!t Sherlock, the Libtards want to destroy everything that America was built upon, what it stands for, Capitalism, so they can rebuild it with Socialism to distribute the wealth.
I am funny about giving up what I have worked my ass off for to give to someone else who has sat on theirs with their handout.
The people have had enough of their progress thinking and political correctness forced upon us that people are finally saying ENOUGH you sissy son of a b!tches. We are DONE supporting and rewarding failure. Go hungry if you don't want to work.
Sent the 15 million illegal Pepper Bellies back home and give those jobs to the American citizens abusing welfare and put them out in the fields picking the fruit and vegetables and if they refuse to do it then let the lazy son of a b!tches starve to death.
Have you ever read the book or watched the movie, "The Grapes of Wrath" ? If not I suggest you do so you understand what America was built on and what REAL poverty is.
And that is what President Trumpster keeps campaigning on, I am going to make America Great Again !
He loves America, he is a patriot and he gets things done and that is why the people are supporting him.
Things are finally starting to swing back the other way again.
And I for one am lovin' it and again if I have offended you I really don't care.

I am going to make America Great Again !

Problem is thats impossible, capitalism built America and is also destroying it. Bring jobs back! thats not going to make many US brands competitive on the goal market, Imagine having to pay iPhone assemblers $12 / hour instead on $1...etc etc

All those cheap immigrant labour workers, no longer allowed in. Major US brands will be wiped out within months.

johnny reb
26 Jan 2016  #189

All those cheap immigrant labour workers, no longer allowed in.

Don't have to let them in, keep them and the pollution in China where they belong and continue to pay them $1 an hour.
Read what is on the boxes W.B.
They say, "Made in America, assembled in China."
Just wait until President Trump starts building our military up again how many that will employ or when he starts the construction of the Key Stone pipeline how many that is going to employ from building the equipment to construct it, constructing it, maintaining it.
Obama's "hope and change" certainly is not working as our country slips further into debt, joblessness, more people on welfare, higher taxes, more race division, no respect from foreign countries..........Nope W.B., the America people have had abelly full of the Socialists in this country and sending them down the road.
Trump is going to make America great again and you people in the E,U, are scared to death that your countries will see the success that Trump brings to America and then they are going to want it and send you socialist down the road in horror.
I still like Rubio over King Trump.

...no mercy on greediness.

Really? You believe that it is okay to punish millions of employees and retirees for the greediness of a few? You certainly are a proud member of the "Me, myself and I" crowd. Are you sure you are as old as you always claim? LOL!
.
.
FORD MOTORS did not borrow a nickel or take a nickel from the government bailout.

That is only half the truth, Johnny, and you know it. They didn't take the TARP money, but they were more than happy to beg for a low interest government loan to cover their sorry ass*es just in case:

Quotes:

"Ford Chief Executive Officer Alan R. Mulally also asked Congress for a "credit line" of up to $9 billion in case the economy worsened."
factcheck.org/2011/09/ford-motor-co-does-u-turn-on-bailouts/

"Mulally appeared before Congress last week with the CEOs of GM and Chrysler, and said he did so to support the other automakers and to line up a government loan just in case the economy worsened and Ford might needed the money in the future. If one or both of the others go into bankruptcy, it could drag down parts suppliers and force Ford into the same situation, Mulally said."

huffingtonpost.com/2008/12/10/ford-bailout-money-unnece_n_149824.html

Why do you think Mulally went before Congress? He was well aware of the fact that if the other two were wiped out, that Ford would be the next one. Unlike you, Ford's CEO was for the bailout, it seems...

Quote:
"Ford would have closed because it wouldn't have been able to get parts, because the parts industry in this country was in arguably worse shape than the assemblers,"

Oh, and stop reading Ayn Rand... ;)

jon357
26 Jan 2016  #192

Any Rand!! Some of them (including Trumpists) actually take that turgid, rambling and incoherent nonsense seriously. It's surreal to see Conservative Christians drooling over a writer whose anti-altruistic 'values' were the opposite of Christian, someone who hated the idea of social security but dived head first at the doormat when her monthly cheque arrived.

Plus of course she was an immigrant who hated immigrants - seems par for the course.

You cry babies are starting already.
One thing for sure is that you won't see any mass marches from the losers in America.
People are so disappointed in what this country has come to that just about anything will be better then what we have had for the last seven years.
Trump will straighten out the unfair tariffs that America pays, he will put people back to work and off welfare plus he will boot out the illegals.........
That will be the start to making America great again. Push one for English, no, learn English or go back home.
They didn't take the TARP money

BINGO !
but they were more than happy to beg for a low interest government loan

That they paid back in full with interest so your point is ? Meaningless............
The Libtards are getting nervous and that is a good thing.
Now lets talk the alternative..............
Any bets your girl Hillary gets indited ?
She took top secret e-mails and copied and pasted them on her private e-mails and then claimed that she did not sent top secret e-mails on her private server. That is a felony for each and ever one that she sent.
She did it intentionally to cover her ass.
Hopefully she will never get out of prison to visit the Clinton Library and Massage Parlor again.

Yup, she's the cult figure of the Tea Party.

That they paid back in full with interest so your point is ?

You still don't get it? Without the TARP bailouts, the American car industry including Ford and all suppliers would have collapsed, leaving millions of people unemployed and hundreds of thousands of retirees without income from the pension funds. Unemployment and significantly dropped consumer demand (remember "Cash for Clunkers" and why it was introduced?) would have crippled the country for a very long time. The bailout was simply the lesser evil. What's so difficult to understand?

Read what is on the boxes W.B.

Just checked mine now and it actually reads: "designed in California, assembled in China".

Just wait until President Trump starts building our military up again how many that will employ or when he starts the construction of the Key Stone pipeline how many that is going to employ from building the equipment to construct it, constructing it, maintaining it.

Thats not going to keep a workforce associated with a 330 million people country in good financial standing mate.

Trump is going to make America great again and you people in the E,U

Aren't you like 120 years old? haven't you been duped enough by politicians promises of false hope? America is a place where people live out there lives. Politicians maybe worried about the US's political and financial power, but I'm certainly not.

I think most Europeans and plenty of educated US citizens see Trumpkins for what he actually is. A simpleton who's lived a privileged life thanks to his heritage and silver plater upbringing who basically knows how to play Monopoly really well.

Lyzko
26 Jan 2016  #196

Trump may or may not have even read, much less heard of, Ayn Rand. The issue is that Trump is all for "(monkey-)business as usual" according to the Neo-Con playbook, co-authored by Ronald Reagan! Bernie Sanders doesn't want to 'scandinavianize' America into, horrors, one big Welfare State; he simply wants to level the playing field more or less as it was pre-Reagan, i.e. during the height of the New Deal:-)

As posted yesterday, why ought wealth be consumed so conspicuously by slobberinos, aka New Rich from the sports and/or hedge-fund field, who haven't the culture attained, e.g. by the true Old Money Rich, such as the Morgans, along with America's founding families, for whom fine art, music and literature were indistinguishable in importance from clinching a mega business deal??

In brief, we need to recover our sense of proportion before there are more mass shootings etc..

The issue is that Trump is all for "(monkey-)business as usual" according to the Neo-Con playbook

The real issue is that after almost 200 years, America seems to be in desperate need of a strong third party that can succesfully compete with the established ones. Won't happen of course, so the country will continue to be divided along party lines and nothing will ever get done. Doesn't matter who wins in the end.

Yosemite
27 Jan 2016  #201

Doesn't matter who wins in the end.

Thats basically it. The British Green Party just doesn't get enough media coverage to ever make them a serious player. If the tabloids got behind them, the major news channels featured their policies in a positive manner and people started talking. They would be voted in in a heart beat.

I remember when The Sun newspaper switched from supporting a Conservative John Major to a Labour Tony Blair and Labour was voted in. If i remember rightly The Sun newspaper has a very long track record of backing the winning horse. This is a paper who exclusively talks to the working class. You've got to be a real naive dumb sh1te to swallow what they're selling but millions do. Its the UK's version of a paper Fox News.

Trump is absolutely everywhere, he's getting something like 80% of the US media coverage in comparison to his competitors, the media is a handing him huge favours.

Bloomy?? Nah, he's just a spoiler! Kind of like Ross Perot in the '92 elections. And as you all know, the "liberal" Clinton won hands down, supported in large part by the South, no less (and I don't mean by the "Dixiecrats")!

johnny reb
27 Jan 2016  #203

the "liberal" Clinton won hands down,

The good old Clinton Crime family. He and his wife both should be in prison.
Bill Clinton (Slick Willy) took repeated trips on the "Lolita Express", the private passenger jet owned by billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein who I believe is still in prison.
Clinton shared more than a dozen flights with a woman who federal prosecutors believe procured underage girls to sexually service Epstein and his friends and acted as a "potential co-conspirator" in his crimes.
The fifteen year old on the plane that Slick Willy and Epstein took with them to relax wasn't the scotch whiskey.

You still don't get it?

LOL, NO, YOU still don't get it son.
GOOD, LET THEM FAIL AND SUFFER NOW sooner then later.
Get their attention to what and how it has got this far.
SOCIALISM works great until the other guys money runs out and the other guys money ran out. GET IT NOW !
So what was Obama's cure but to throw another 3 BILLION dollars into the "Cash for Clunkers" failed program.
......80% of the vehicles that were SOLD for that program.... were made by FOREIGN-owned companies.
(Who cares if it's MADE here in the USA.... the profits go back OVERSEAS ! ) Nice.,...
Now the people that DID get new cars.... also (and they didn't figure this out 'til it was too late )... ALSO GOT TO 'PARTICIPATE' IN "NICE PAYMENTS"... at the end of every month.
I cannot remember the exact figures.... but around 50% of those sold, got taken-back in RE-POSESSION Actions !
In other words.... THEY COULDN'T AFFORD THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE !
Just like the Freddie Mac home loans to people that couldn't afford to pay them back.
(BUT HEY.... that wasn't the POINT in the first place, now was it !)
All those homes got re-possessed too, remember !
THEN....by taking all the USED cars OFF the market ( 'Cause it was part of the DEAL: the old cars got 'CRUSHED' ! ... TAKEN off THE ROADS! ? )
Well, that sounds good! But what about the huge number of "Independent Shops" , the Mom & Pop Operations, the "small operators" working out of their home garage... one HELL of a lot of "business" was LOST...'cause these Old rides were crushed!
Plus Parts Houses lost a lot of business from NOT SELLING REPLACEMENT PARTS for these old cars !
Same kinda deal.... where Obama stated, categorically... that we could cure our DEPENDENCY ON FOREIGN OIL.... ... by keeping our tires inflated properly ! (remember that !) ????
Such Simplistic Thinking... has been a HALMARK of that Bozo's ENTIRE tenure in the Oval Office !
The only "BEAUTY" OF THE PROGRAM... is... from the Democratic standpoint.... that it was NOT followed thru properly.... they had NO WAY of 'tracking' the SUCCESS of the program.... it was just a matter of throwing 3 BILLION of TAXPAYER MONIES AROUND.... ( and by NOT keeping track of it...) WHO KNOWS where the Billions of Dollars went other than into Obama' s various SLUSH FUNDS !
It's the CLASSIC 'Modus Operandi' of our COMMUNITY ORGANIZER: Take someone ELSES' money...."throw-it" out the Proverbial WINDOW.... and wonder how many unsuspecting people below just HAPPENED to be in the area to take advantage of it !
No Follow-up ! No Goals to work towards.... Just.... well, you know... JUST THROW IT OUT there... & don't ask too many questions !
He's done this EVERY TIME ! Such an Amateur.... THE ESSENCE....OF "HOPE & CHANGE" !

Now TheOther, I can't make it ANY SIMPILAR than that for you to understand SOCIALISM & it's FAILURES !
And I am done trying, so save your silly justifications for SOCIALISM as I will no longer waste my time debating you.
If Trump takes Iowa next week it may be over right then and there.

Yosemite

No planet = no socialism or no capitlaism. We cant maintain the economy as it is and the planets biodiversity anyway. Your entire argument (as flawed, bias and old fashioned as it is) doesn't take into consideration the devestating impact a capitalist market has on nature and in turn the environment.

Havent we wiped out something like 30% of the natural land based enviorment in the last 50 years alone. and lets not talk about 62 of the richest people having accumilated an equal amount of financial wealth as the poorest 3,500,000,000 (half the planet), was around 300 a couple of years ago, now its 62 people. Ohh yeah lets make America great again... Do you honeslty believe that Trumkins will make America great again, havnet you been folled enough times by politicians false promises? How many more times before you think: hang on a minute these guys will say anyrthing just to get voted in.

In many ways yes the boom times of 60's America made it a pretty decent and easy place to live, but those days are gone im afraid mate. Sounds to me like youve got some fond memeries from that period, well good for you.
