Direct funding, of course. The U.S. defense spending (the indirect funding) exceeds that of the other NATO members significantly, but that's not surprising given the fact that the USA is a world power.

If the US wants to stop defending its empire, fair enough, it will also lose Dollar Hegemony and the dollar will plundge by 75%.

Our educational system has just gone to hell in America with the lowering of standards so students can't fail, everyone gets a trophy and teachers can't be fired for being dumb.
Trump will raise the standards for the teachers and get rid of the incompetent by breaking up that union.
