The New Deal was the program instituted by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt along with his cabinet of advisors, beginning around 1933 or thereabout, but not really applied until well into the start of the 1940's:-) Its purpose was essentially to kick start the badly depressed American economy through workforce jobs by making employment readily available to every able-bodied American. It chronologically also went hand in hand with the advent of Social Security and of course Unemployment Compensation for those without work, so that they could continue to live while looking for work.

Sure you've not been swilling too much booze or overdosing on some controlled substance, momentarily confusing the New Deal with the so-called "Corn Laws" of the mid-1800's??

That was then (during the Industrial Revolution) and this is now (the Technology Revolution).
Anyone can do an assembly line job but not everyone can do a technology job.
The New Deal is out dated to say the least.
It was good in it's time but outdated as the Industrial Revolution is over.
