If Europe is on its own, won't it be more difficult for its citizens to secure government freebies because of new expenses? Just because NATO expenses are eliminated doesn't mean the US can afford universal coverage and free college tuition.

I would rather ask if there will be political and social willingness to do it. Having money is one thing but deciding to spend it on free healthcare and education is another. I don't recall hearing Trump talking about such stuff but I don't follow his campaign so I might have missed it.
