Are you saying that if there is no verse in the Bible that explicitly forbids something, then it means that it's allowed? :) Well, there is no verse in the Bible that says "Thou shalt not hit your wife with a walking stick whenever thou wantest to" but it doesn't mean that it's allowed, as there are many other verses which suggest that such behaviour should be rather frowned upon. :)

On the one hand you're right, but on the other hand if the hotel's owner is a Christian then facilitating the sin of others (and fornication or adultery are sins from Christian point of view, even if unbelievers commit them) also counts as a sin for him. Difficult situation.

I think that some of religious rules, like no sex during menstruation and no sex before marriage were actually protecting women's rights in a way in the past, but nowadays it's simply not needed anymore.

And as for outdated rules, Paul the Apostle wrote in The Epistles that women should cover their heads. Can you imagine telling Christian women these days to cover their heads, because Paul the Apostle wants them to? Can you see the big middle finger coming? ;)
