The republicans are more concerned about hostile entities that makes their life miserable at home now, no point in thinking about possible outside threats if they have already breached your home.
It was the goal of the KGB to create internal turmoil to such levels to throw U.S.A off the world domination and win the rivalry, they just didn't realise it would cost them everything.
Now the Chinese just wait patiently until the two fight it off to damning levels to take up the scraps, very like how U.S.A awaited til U.K got itself in so much trouble it got basically dependant on U.S.A to solve it's problems.
They probably hope both U.S.A and Russia become dependent on them, with Russia happening sooner then expected.
South Korea and Japan seeing this will eventually use this situation to balance it out with China by either, arming themselves up more to the teeth just in case, finding other allies that could stand up or at least speak up on their behalf with China. Or simply teaming up with China under their hegemony if some agreement takes place.
Of all major and semi major countries in Europe Poland has the best possible situation to have good relations with, China, Koreans (north and south actually which can help in their unification if it will be a goal for them) and Japan.
While other European states can be used by them to create safety on basis of gaining more cards to use against each other, Poland has little negative history with East Asian countries in general and can easily be seen as a unifying force in the region which is not a threat to any country there
