We are the West, Maf - we were built on the rules and values coming from the Bible and in the Bible Jesus commands us to love all others, including our enemies, with his degree of passion. Christianity has this effect on unbelieving people. They murdered us, thrown us to the lions and crucified us for it. Nihil novi sub sole. There is nothing more repulsive to unregenerate mind than genuine Christianity. They can tolerate apostate, imperial forms of it like catholicism or eastern orthodoxy but genuine Christianity freaks the hell (literally! :)) out of them.

I consider myself a Christian first and only later a Catholic. I don't look down on other denominations - there are genuine Christians in all of them. I have nothing against Christ's message, but I have a problem with the way you're delivering it, with your hypocrisy and your attitude to non-believers. That won't help you in getting Christ's message across to other people - it will just make you feel better about yourself :)


But I remember what you were writing about such people during our discussions on PF - you weren't exactly displaying such Christian charitable attitude towards them like you are doing that with Bobko and other RuSSians (who are not writing on PF either, btw) :)
