What would a hillbilly like me and Jethro know though.
Indeed.
Yes, bit is the simple past tense eg I bit into the apple (and was banished from the Garden of Eden - maybe a Biblical reference will help you to understand.'
Simple Past: The tick bit Bobko.
Now, yes, the perfect tense uses 'bitten' which is the past participle of the verb 'to bite'.
Past Perfect: When Bobko returned to his tent he discovered that
he had been bitten by a tick.
However, Bobko's sentence was neither simple past nor present perfect, it was passive and therefore uses the past participle form of the verb which is 'bitten'.

Atch o my god how much is polluted the air ?? i
Air pollution is much worse in some other cities in Poland than it is in Katowice. If you have asthma or anything you need to avoid being out in it as much as possible but otherwise you'll be ok. In winter, just don't open your windows too often especially at night.
Here are a few tips that definitely make a difference:
Go out earlier in the day when air quality tends to be better.
Stay on quieter, back streets if possible, avoiding areas where there's a lot of traffic.
Walk on the inside of the pavement because pollution levels are lower the further you are from the traffic.
Keep your car windows closed if you're driving, especially if you're driving in slow-moving traffic.
Be prepared by checking pollution levels in your area.
These are live trackers of air quality in Poland. As you can see the air quality today is good :)

Unfortunately though Polish air quality is not as good as it should be. In Warsaw the air you breathe in is the equivalent of smoking about 1,000 cigarettes every year. As a non-smoker, that really upsets me.
