I may be wrong with this - but I think that whether or not women enjoy novelty more than men, they are certainly the ones better able to act on it.

For example, one time - a French roommate of mine was dating a girl from Tahiti. Over a cigarette, I had asked her how she rated dating somebody from her island, over a foreigner. Her answer was that dating a foreigner was better in almost every way. I was pretty surprised by this lack of home team pride. Her explanations were roughly as follows:

1) Our guys, unless rich, have never been off the islands. Their world view is accordingly limited.

2) Our guys are a little crazy on the subject of honor, so if a girl dates around locally too much, people begin to spread ugly rumors.

3) A chance to see the world.

In a nutshell, that was her explanation. Again, I was surprised that somebody would try this hard to escape from paradise. But I had never been to Tahiti.

A few years later I went to Hawaii. It's no Tahiti, but still a Polynesian island. There I discovered the following things:

1) The local guys really are idiots. The amount of random violence I witnessed between local men - at the bar, at the stoplight, on the beach - indicated this was one of their top favorite activities.

2) Men and women all want to get the hell off the island, to the Big Land. Pretty much as badly as the rest of the us want to get to Hawaii, they want to go somewhere else. Of course, it's the women for whom this is much easier to do.

3) I saw very few ethnically Hawaiian men with white girlfriends, and a ton of Hawaiian women with white boyfriends.

It's the same story everywhere. Hundreds of thousands of white guys in the metro New York area with Asian wives, and probably 10X less Asian guys with white wives.

Many examples of successful families where wife is African and husband is white. A lot less stories of black husband and white wife.

Bottom line: what's the point discussing who loves novelty more, if it's clearly women that are actually able to find it and experience it.

Probably even in Sweden, which mints beautiful people like Zimbabwe mints currency, this is true. A Swedish girl would find it much easier to tie the knot with a foreigner with means, than for a Swedish guy to bag a wealthy and beautiful woman visiting Sweden on tourism.

For your average Joe the island is rather expensive to live.

It's expensive for sure, but it's also incredibly boring. 2-3 months on an island, and you will feel like shooting yourself. Most exciting local jobs are scuba instructor or real estate broker.

Haha! Yes, this amazed me - Hawaii is the only one of the 50 states where white people are in a minority. Not only are they in a minority, but treated as some kind of orc-type aggressor.
