How often do you read RT to form this opinion?

I have to say - RT has been a surprise. Back when it was being launched around 2006 or so, people were very skeptical.

The accepted wisdom was that nobody watches channels like France 24, Deutsche Welle, RAI, etc - and so it would be foolish to blow money on something no one will watch. Existing non-profits like RIA Novosti/Interfax were also not happy, that instead of investing in them the government was spending more than a billion dollars on a splashy launch of an English language tv channel.

It's been incredible how quickly RT overtook the Deutsche Welles and France 24s of the world.

Personally I don't read any of their news, but I enjoy watching their documentaries - which are some of the best produced anywhere. Like seriously, National Geographic and Discovery have nothing on some of the films these guys have made. I believe several of their productions have won awards.
