Ever been threatened with violence on PF by another poster?

Looking back through old PM's, I found one from some guy that threatened to "beat me into a pulp" if he ever saw me. Amusing, and shows how people take the internet far too seriously. I cannot understand why someone would resort to violence over mere words on an internet forum - but obviously some people at least think they would.

Has anyone else ever received threats of violence on here?

Yep, several times. One member threatened to glass me. Another threatened to kick my teeth through the back of my neck.
I'm wondering when people will learn that threats made on PF can actually have real world consequences.

So says someone who stalks and spies other forums members and then gets banned for it, someone who brags about making other forum member cry in the christmas eve, yep, some people really have no lifes and take this forum too seriously, rather sad than amusing though.


It can only have a real world consequences if one have a pair of working balls, anything else is just an empty talk.


Nope, only a few insults from a random trolls, I guess only other trolls get PM threats.

People (myself included) tend to forget or have forgotten that there is no such thing as online anonymity anymore. We are foolish for thinking otherwise.

Also depends on whether or not the making of the threat is a crime or not (helpful hint: it almost always is).


I wonder who will be next to learn that lesson the hard way.

Aunt Roger the Cabin Boy was the only one that ever threatened me with violence.

Yes, looking at these abusive messages, it really makes me wonder how people can think that they're genuinely anonymous.

But they still are, just like Harold you didn't do anything to find out who those people are.

@ Wulkan, not everyone does nothing. Believe it or not, nobody is anonymous when the right kind of "motivation" is involved.

The sad thing is, most of us are here to debate, learn, express and have a good time. But a few are not (definitely not referring to you).

Yes and this "motivation" is simply "balls" that many here simply lack, so why mentioning something that you could do but you don't do, it just sounds funny.

It doesn't involve being a bad anything. The genuinely dangerous people are cowards actually. I'd be more than happy to sort out my differences with a ballsy person over a couple of beers. At least I know he/she would say what they have in mind to my face. But cowards are the ones to look out for.

I always wanted to invite a certain poster on here for a couple of beers to learn more about him because he's an interesting chap in his own way, but I doubt it will ever happen :(

I remember one period when I invited any toughman on PF to come meet me in the pub at a certain time every week. No-one ever turned up :(

You can please yourself however and whenever you want, just don't get us involved :-)

The rules have always been rather vague when it comes to threats of violence on PF.

Going off-topic has always been treated far more seriously than threats of violence ;)
